One has to wonder about an escort that's been advertising since at least 2001 and claims to be 35. Why can't he just admit he looks pretty good for a 41 year old?

If they have no qualms lying about their age, why would you believe anything else they say?  
I want to know how old they ARE and then I'll decide how old they LOOK, not them.

It has nothing to do with being shallow. If I’m paying 500$ for some random dude who looks like he skipped a few meals & I’m expecting somebody who is 27, he better not be pushing 40. It’s called truth in advertising! For the record, I prefer guys in their 30s than 20’s so skip the ageist comments.

@bostonman I've read in other threads that providers are particularly averse to long detailed chats and descriptions of scenarios because those are typical of time wasters. You are not one but the similarity in your way of communication is probably making them wary of you, hence giving these laconic responses.
I always assume that on any given day they are talking to several people not just me. So I send direct, brief, concise messages to get faster, specific responses. I also don't mind receiving an answer with 3 digits because that gives me an indication if the meeting will happen or not, before discussing hypothetical scenarios.
I see that providers' attitudes change after meeting because you're no longer a prospect. If you want to book again they will be more engaged in conversation and discussion of scenarios because they know you are real and of course they want to make another sale.

If I begin a sentence with "listen", I am very uncomfortable with what I am about to say.

I also have noticed that Biden does indeed use "Look" at the beginning of many answers, esp when he doesn't like the question. I have tried to analyze why so many politicians use this useless word ("Omit needless words." says Strunk & White, The Elements of Style, page 12).
 
It seems to be a rhetorical device, similar to "Listen" for gaining and holding attention and for asserting authority in advance of emphasizing a point. It's like saying "Listen, I am going to say something very important, so pay attention!" As you noted, it is a viral crutch that seems to be spreading throughout media.

"Look," used to start a sentence. I'm hearing more and more of this on TV when commentators are interviewed, the answer to every question starts with "Look." (Biden does it too.)

Or, any commercial where they think it's cute to get ordinary, tone-deaf folks to try to sing. (Subaru was a huge offender of that over Christmas with all those idiots trying to squeak out a few bars of "Put A Little Love In Your Heart.")
