  1. I'm leaving on Saturday, March 21st for Puerto Vallarta and will return on Saturday, March 28th. Three months ago I paid $522 for the round trip fare and was pleased with the price. Today I could buy a ticket on the same flights for $267. Who would ever have guessed?

Mexico is considering closing it’s borders to Americans to contain the virus. Be sure to check on this before you depart.

  2. Just had lunch at an very upscale steak house in my area and the place was full. According to the manager business is as good as ever, however, they are taking some additional cleaning precautions.

I'm just waiting for the idiots in Sacramento to close down all restaurants and airports. Nearly all of our state legislators are in a state of total irrational panic and are being led brilliantly by our dump shit governor.

Politicians like to panic, they need activity. It's their substitute for achievement.”

  3. I visited a friend in a nursing home yesterday and asked a manager what they were doing about COVID-19. She said she didn’t have details on that and I should as the case nurse. The nurse said “we’re asking sick family members to not visit” and “following our usual protocols.”

    That didn’t inspire confidence.

  4. Possible that Coachella might be cancelled

A coworker in Rancho Mirage mentioned this on his Facebook page last Friday. There’s a group of residents advocating for the cancellation because Palm Springs has a significant elder population. The concern is a large gathering will make the virus situation worse.

I‘m still planning to attend the PS Weekend at this time. My bigger concern is that California enacts a quarantine between now and then. I have a tentative business trip to LA in two weeks as well. My company has a travel prohibition on nonessential travel and this LA trip might get canceled.

  5. I won’t take any ocean cruise because of the environmental damage caused by these ships. The industry claims to have cleaned up their act but much of that is greenwashing. These ocean liners still dump waste overboard usually at 4:00 AM when passengers are asleep. The industry has lobbied and succeeded at obtaining special exemptions for diesel fuel contamination.

For these and many other reasons I just can’t in good conscience take an ocean cruise. I don’t have a problem with others choosing to take these voyages, it’s a personal choice and they are enjoyable for them.

  6. Amongst my close circle of friends, and what little family left alive, we all text prior to calling. ”Is this a good time for a chat?” Or “Call me now, important.” The latter gets the quickest response and is reserved for serious circumstances. This has worked well and pretty much keeps us all well connected.

I‘ve intentionally let my voice mail box get full and won’t accept messages as a result. This is also the case at work a full voicemail. Anyone who works closely with me knows to email or IM if they want to talk to me on the phone.

Occasionally someone will say to me “I called you but your voicemail was full.” My reply is “ Oh really? Email me first next time.”

I get a ton of spam calls on my cell and will look the number up online and more often than not it’s a robo caller or some nuisance caller. All those numbers are then blocked.

  7. Just stopped by my neighborhood grocery store here in NYC. No sign of panic buying, shelves are stocked per usual. ?

I‘ve witnessed worse panic buying in DC at the mere forecast of a snowstorm. Thus far I haven’t seen that level of “pandelirium”.

  8. Went to a nearby CVS over the weekend for few items. Checked the aisle with miniature hand sanitizer. All gone completely empty. At the counter, mentioned to the associate of being sold out. She said two guys came in and bought ALL the sanitizer in stock.

I bet serious money these guys plan to resell the hand sanitizer on Amazon or EBay. No doubt they hit other stores and bought every hand sanitizer they could grab.

The Pandemic of Fear is going to be very profitable for some people.

  9. But actually I'm taking this coronavirus *very* seriously, as we all should be, so this post is not to make light of what is a really scary unfolding situation. But with that said, I am a terrible "prepper". My organized day of "prepping" yesterday has resulted in:

    1) a two month supply of green tea ice cream

    2) 24 limes

    3) 4 tubes of toothpaste

    4) 12 bars of soap

    5) 4 spools of dental floss

    6) a giant bottle of tequila

    7) 10 lbs (yes, you read that right) of lentils

    and

    8) a huge sack of thai jasmine rice

I don’t think you have enough tequila.

  10. What we have here is a Pandemic of Fear. The Covid-19 virus is definitely serious and will spread around the globe. The infection rate and death toll will be widespread. Unfortunately, it is difficult to asses the truth about risk levels because of media sensationalism and governments that have not been honest and forthcoming since this epidemic began in late 2019.

Individuals need to inform themselves about the true facts of this outbreak from multiple sources and not rely solely on cable news and Twitter. The CDC and World Health Organization have been the primary sources I’ve used to learn about Covid-19 and determine my personal response.

I am not buying into the Pandemic of Fear. Buying surgical masks and N-95 respiratory masks will not prevent anyone from contracting Covid-19. For every N-95 mask purchased by individuals thinking this will prevent them from contacting the virus means that there will be fewer masks available to those who have greater need for them - healthcare providers and patients actually infected. This will create shortages of necessary medical supplies and make the situation worse.

I have replenished food staples and other necessities but I’m not making any special efforts. From the CDC and conversations with people who I know in the medical field I’m approaching Covid-19 like it’s the flu and taking necessary precautions Including frequent hand washing and using sanitizers. I’m keeping informed of latest developments but the one thing I will not do is cave into the Pandemic of Fear.

  11. I only book two hour escort sessions. For me, an hour is too rushed and cheapens the experience. I’d rather have a slower pace that allows time to at least get to know each other. I’ve learned some fascinating details about guys and gained a lot of respect for the top tier providers. Most guys will discount the second hour if you ask politely.

Regarding masseurs my preference is for 90 minutes for a legit massage. I work in an intense and highly stressful job so my muscles are Party tense. A longer appointment is better for alleviating tension.

  12. There’s an ongoing discussion at my office as to what constitutes a “serving size” of Thin Mints. Three cookies as listed on the box or an entire sleeve? The consensus was, of course, one sleeve is the proper serving size for Thin Mints. There were a few outliers claiming that an entire box is one serving.

My position is that since one sleeve is never enough and two sleeves are in a box, then one box is a serving size.

  13. I appreciate everyone for concerns and PMs regarding Coronavirus. My primary reason for the trip is a concert on 3/29. A subsequent search using Delta Skymiles convinced me to go. I booked a flexible Hotel stay and I can cancel my flights for a full Miles refund anytime.

So basically I can cancel anytime for free and I’ll only be out my VIP Concert ticket cost.

I do have a day layover (By choice) In Seoul.

South Korea is imposing travel restrictions into and out of Seoul. Might be best to look into the matter. You might have to reroute your itinerary.

  14. The Dallas Mafia has been up to these tricks for years. If it’s an escort or escorts then they must be lousy providers to engage in such desperate actions. If it’s a client or clients then this person is seriously mentally unstable. What kind of person gets off by sending an escort off on a wild goose chase? How pathetic.

Perhaps one day this scumbag will be revealed and may the wrath of every scammed escort decend upon them with a vengeance.
