There is no answer to that.  Unlike a highly regulated industry, there is no standard definition of "sensual" versus "erotic" massage.  If you want to know what a specific provider offers, you need to ask him.  Of course you can ask what other people have experienced with a specific masseur, but even then just because one guy enjoyed showering with a masseur and ended up blowing him after the therapeutic part of the massage was over doesn't mean you will enjoy the same experience.

This is the thing. So many of you expect full course meals when they’re not for sale. Sensual does NOT require you to have a naked masseur. Nor a happy ending. Just because one or two masseurs  believe that it is obviously apart of it, they’re highly mistaken. Sensual doesn’t mean sex. It mean sexy. But, sexy doesn’t mean you are deserving or paying for a happy ending or sexual favor. The touch,  the stroke of the hands and fingers, the closeness. That’s sensual. Erotic I can understand a naked masseur but stop applying your thoughts that you are paying for what you think it is. Ask your masseur and go from there. I see so many complaining on this site about expectations but give very little or try to negotiate us out of our prices. But then get mad when you don’t get what you want in the same fashion as a toddler. To then go on and write scathing reviews when you didn’t even ask proper questions. And then you don’t care or just don’t think about the fact that we have who are actually licensed have to worry about busts. We lose our licensing and possible jail time with high fines if we get caught doing things we legally shouldn’t be while having a license to do this. Like, really be considerate of what we go through and what we have to worry about. If you want sex and sexual favors hire an erotic masseur or an escort. But stop treating and talking about us on this forums m like we’re just toys for your benefit and not human beings.

Thanks Italiano!  Hopefully this time it works.  He has been assaulting clients for years and both RM sites have been notified many times but they've always refused to remove him.  Fingers crossed. 

It is unbelievable how this guy is still able to create new profiles (well, same profile with different usernames..) again!
He has assaulted physically and verbally, and harassed a few in this Forum (me included).
He has appeared with many different usernames on Rentmasseur and Rentmen, he even tried to be a member here few days ago in order to bash whoever said negative things about him.

I agree, and especially in San Diego. The pandemic changed the landscape and those who were skilled gave it up with those unskilled stepping in to provide unskilled and overpriced services. Talent has completely dried up and it’s not even enjoyable anymore. I’ve stopped as well.

I’m getting fed up with massages / masseurs. It’s been a while since I’ve hired someone really good. Good for me is a trained masseur with sensual or erotic elements. Most of the new guys I hire are guys without experience that want to make good money without even putting too much effort. And then some members of this forum rave about them based only on the sensual / erotic elements.
Some of the really good ones around my area moved or stopped offering massage services. At the moment I’ve no desire to keep trying / wasting money on new guys that don’t have a clue of what they are doing. 
I think I’ll take a break for a few months and see how things go. Meanwhile I’ll just hire the 2-3 masseurs that are my regulars. But no new ones. I’ll save some money and use it on other experiences. Maybe a cruise? More concerts, theater, fine dining…. Etc. 
Does anyone else feel the same?

Not sure if this is best in “The Lounge” or here, since its mainly the masseurs.
 I’ve only discovered the world of RentMasseur in the past few years and the thrill of not knowing how far a massage or even how good of a massage it will be … the thrill of the “hunt” for me is waning. 
You get your rub and tugs, oiling you like it’s a bodybuilding competition and limits on you (but public and dm’ed reviews from other forum members say otherwise). I’m not complaining (that much), just venting (?).  I’m average…not that young nor that old, not ugly nor movie star material, some meat on my bones that probably could use some gym time but with good to great hygiene. It’s a service, paid with hard-earned cash, but the takeaways are so random.   I won’t be a hypocrite and say i’ve only gotten bad massages and basic extras - i think more than half of my RMasseur hires were the wonderful and legit massages with all the after-massage activities expected …… and much more (as compared to what a few forum members and I have shared regarding a masseur or two that we’ve seen).
I might just need to take a short break from this hobby.  Or maybe a feeling of entitlement (?) that “cash = massage” equals should be applied to all.  
I’m just curious on what others’ take on this. Just keep truckin’ and it’s the thrill of the unknown? 
 (There is also a sense of delusional infatuation with one or two masseurs for me but i’ve read well-established helpful forum posts about this topic. Thank you, search function)

Thank you and I love your honesty.  Greatly appreciated.  I share your frustration with the inconsistency while at the same time agreeing that there have been many excellent experiences along the way as well.  Something like massage that has so many forms and varieties and is so personal and involves touch and varied physical reactions even to that is bound to be a frustrating experience at some point. This forum is a marvel at helping to pair down significantly those experiences and hires that are likely to be disappointing. In my journey, I’ve run across those few who consistently give me a great value for the money.  I tend to stick with those and experiment less with the YMMV type.  The thrill of the unknown is getting more expensive and not as worth it.  

I'm not petrified, but I wear a seatbelt every time I'm in the car, I lock my doors whether I'm in the house or out, I change the batteries in my smoke detector. Why wouldn't I get vaccinated to hopefully prevent a nasty illness? I get my flu shot, I've had tetanus shots, I plan to get the shingles vaccine soon, had my Covid vaccine & booster. I do these things as precautions. 
(Note: My father died from injuries in an apartment fire. I'm not petrified, but I do have smoke detectors and a fire extinguisher, because I want to be prepared.)

Is it just me or do others also find the older massage links to be much hotter?

Maybe someone else mentioned it already (sorry I haven’t read the 3 pages of discussion) but for me it is very simple: I cannot predict in advance if my body will will be tired and will need a massage. 
How could I? If I could predict how hard my work day will be tomorrow, and how badly I will need a massage to relax from it, I’d have amazing powers that I would have used to get rich, and I would have retired already.

Why book at the last minute? 
Why not? What's the problem of a polite request? If you can't or don't want to just say no. If you don't want to be bothered by requests turn on an auto reply that you are not available and maybe add that you will take appointments at x or y date or time. 
I sometimes book last minute because unexpected time in a busy schedule becomes available. Or the mood strikes. Or I find myself near a therapist's location.
The bigger annoyance is masseurs who use the "Available Now" indicator and then respond that they can see me "tomorrow" or "next Thursday". The word now actually has a very specific meaning in the English language. It means "at the present time".

Saw him a few years back. Hard pass for me.
