  1. Try this. Take a great big bottle of water and freeze and then leave your foot (or feet on the frozen water for 30 minutes morning and night. It helped me!

Better version: put the frozen water bottle (a typical 16 oz bottle of water) on the floor and roll it back and forth with your foot -- a foot massage with the frozen bottle. I don't recall how long I did this -- maybe 5 times of a minute each with a rest in between. You should be able to google this. It worked well for me.

  2. The Cabana was not started until 2016, and anyone who donated within a calendar year got an icon under his/her name, which is why no one has more than six icons. There was no private forum for donating members before then, and I'm not sure it has ever really been necessary..

I have the vague impression that even in hooboy's day there was some sort of limited access forum...maybe even more than one (an even vaguer impression that there might have been a forum limited to escorts at one time). Anyone remember/know more about this?

  3. Question:

To preserve my anonymity, each year I always sent a money order or cash to Bill without my name.

In order to be a member of "The Cabana" must one disclose who sends money?

Thanks in advance for a response.

All you need to do is include a slip of paper with your username on it. That's all that's needed to give you access to The Cabana.

  4. For Long time members, one can guess who will volunteer. How about a mix of new people and those who have been here quite a while?

I'm not so crazy about the new-to-the-forum people idea...I'd prefer people with some history here who have a feel for this community.

I do think, however, that having a mix of ages is important, both for the diversity of viewpoints and life experiences, and for continuity.

  5. The problem is though male dancers seem to be a bit secretive about their adult lifestyle, they just want their info to be inside the strip club. There are exception of course (i.e Malik) but for most I think they want to keep a secret....

Interesting. My recent experience in Montreal has been different. For a long time, most dancers ("strippers") were very discreet about whether they escorted ("did privates"). If you asked whether a dancer was willing to come back to your hotel, the answer was almost always "no" until he knew you well enough to trust you, and even then, many would take precautions like leaving the bar separately from you.

That seems gradually to have changed. Now it is not uncommon to find dancers advertising on the escort sites. And I quite regularly am solicited for hotel visits during a private dance...or sometimes at the bar before I've even asked to do a private dance.

  6. A couple of things... When I was getting started at this and was befuddled both about what exactly I was looking for and how to communicate that, someone here suggested that I tell the escort (at hiring time) what kinds of fantasies I had. Second thing: find an experienced escort who knows how to read his clients and push them in interesting directions. Good luck!

  7. He was there with a posse of dancers one night when I was there, and most of them were hanging out at his table.

Either through the use of my amazing seduction skills or merely that they were just bored with DL, I managed to seduce three of them to sit by me at the bar and let me cuddle them while they bought me drinks for two hours.

I was amazed these guys were paying for my drinks until the bartender later told me that they had charged it all to DL's tab! :)

Love that story! I never got that benefit from his presence. But his preference was for larger, more muscular dancers and mine was not, so my types would often hang out with me when he was there and sucking up most of the air.

  8. My oldest post here is dated June 26, 2004. I was a lurker for several years prior, possibly even from the '90s. I got here via Aaron Lawrence -- a solicitation on his web site for people to vote for him on hooboy's (for escort of the year???). That post was about my experiences at Campus and Stock the week before. I had been drooling over mouth-watering descriptions (by Mark Anthony, Tampa Yankee, et. al.) of those clubs for years, and finally got there while in Montreal for a wedding in 2003.

Thanks, @Lucky, for taking me down memory lane.

  9. It's easy enough (but a little tedious) to find all your posts -- click on your username in the upper right of the screen, then on "Your content" at the top of the drop down box. You will get 10 pages of your most recent posts in reverse date order. At the bottom of the 10th page, there is a button for "older posts" which gets you the next 10 pages. Lather, rinse, repeat till you run out of content. When I finished, I realized it might be possible to used Advanced Search to get my posts in date order.

  10. I've been a Lastpass user for a number of years on the free tier. I'm looking around for alternatives since they've announced they will charge to sync between desktops and mobile, and their android app has stopped working as well in the past year. Is anyone using a password manager they like and works well with android devices?

The lastpass android app is still working for me and it still syncs with the desktop app. I've been happy with lastpass, so my inclination is to pay the charge (~$27/yr IIRC). But before paying, I would like to know if there is a better paid app out there for about the same price.

(I went through a similar process when Quicken went to a subscription model...spent a lot of time looking for a free app with the same functionalities and ended up paying for Quicken.)

  11. It is a very nice place to have a casual meal and always full during the busy hours, when many of its competitors were almost empty. I felt comfortable dining by myself or with friends, including escorts who would accompany me.

It would be shame if it shuttered its doors completely if a new owner is not found. There are already many chain restaurants in the Village who will survive no matter what. They’ve had an incredible run since the 1990s and made a lot of money for their owners, who are probably getting to the age when they want to cash out. The pandemic has probably hastened that decision.

Over the years, many restaurants like this have closed in the Village. I will mourn it’s disappearance if that is what happens. But I still love Montreal and it’s joive de vivre.

I absolutely agree. Another nice perk: the waiters knew how to flirt (whether straight or gay) . When dining alone, I never felt rushed or ignored.

@Luv2play, can you tell from the ad whether they are selling the property or just the business? I don't know real estate prices in the Village, but CAD$379,000 seems low for that building.

The instagram post from the owners (link in @LD19847's post above) is interesting and gracious and reflects Saloon's atmosphere very well.

  13. Many restaurants with a bar serve meals at the bar. I've found that to be a perfect way to dine alone. Often there will be others there solo willing to converse if you are or the server/bartender will be amenable to chatting. Never any pressure to interact, though. And to be clear, these are restaurants where the bar is an adjunct to the main business of dining.
