In Dallas, rates aren't too bad; I have 2 semi-regulars, and both charge $150 for 90 minutes for an incall. If I look to schedule someone who's visiting, I'm OK with $180 or so because I know they have expenses to cover -- but I've learned the hard way to visit here and get some reviews. Wish I had known about this site way earlier; it might have saved me some $$ wasted on inferior therapists.

Yeah. Also the more he looks like an Instagram model on his pics … the higher the chance the massage won’t be as good. 

My guideline is $2/min here in SF even though many providers charge higher. My experience is the higher the fee, the worse the experience. Mostly those who don’t know how to massage charge more with the intent to fleece as much and quickly as possible. 

You can often find bargains* if you're not comcerned with  the masseur's age. Some of the older guys keep their rates low to keep busy, and they tend to be better skilled in my experience.
*note I am not suggesting you attempt to negotiate down, I'm just saying some of the older guys have lower base rates.

Rates have been increasing in some markets. But when I find someone who is good, consistent, and reliable, I‘ll go along with a slightly higher rate. With so many underwhelming and questionable providers out there, finding a great masseur is more important to me than staying within a strict rate range.

I usually book 75 to 90 minute massages within $125 to $180 range for a quality massage with some extras. My tips always match the quality of the extras provided.

I prefer to book 90 minute sessions as well. I usually can get one for $180 and then I tip them $20 to $40.

I always book 90 minutes or 2 hours, and look for a rate below $200 total, as most provide a discount beyond the first hour

And I was wondering what's a rate that you feel comfortable paying for a massage with sensual/erotic elements?
 
In my case, for incall (where I go to the masseur) I'd say 120 to 160 per hour.
180 starts feeling is expensive.
100 is a great deal
 
These rates are for Southern California area.
 
And less than 100 it becomes suspicious. Maybe is strictly therapeutic or a scam.

You exactly right. A lot of guys in RM don't do phone calls. A lot of their profile demand only text and message on RM.  

Unfortunately, I find that very few - nearing zero - providers ever want to chat via phone.

I just finished a session with him, and this is exactly my experience. He’s got an amazing body (he’s not 31 as his ad says though, maybe more like 40, but the body is the same tight and toned one as his pictures and really a joy to look at). Surprisingly well endowed too.
He is pricy, as was also said before, and besides the extreme short-changing of time, l was not happy to pay such a fee for someone who has two apartments in the city and, as he mentioned before I left, a newly purchased place in the Hamptons. and just an fyi... he is 51 not the 43 as he professes on rentmen according to the internet. he was born in 1969. no biggie just i wish guys would embrace and project positivity about their ages instead of trying to hide behind it. if you are 51 and look like x or 43 and look exactly the same... imho more kudos to the guy 51!!

In twenty years of hiring escorts I have ALWAYS  given the escort his fee in an envelope immediately upon his arrival (I always host escorts at my place).  I even state that I won't be offended if he counts it simply as a double check of my accuracy.  In all my years of hiring I have never had an escort count the money or rip me off.  I have NEVER sent money to an escort prior to our meeting and would NEVER even consider doing so. 

Here another one I text a hot dude on last week Friday to set something up on the same day. He text back, we agreed to see each other later the day. I ask him for his location,  no response. I text couple of times nothing. Just ghost me. After that point I moved on. All of sudden he text me back his location yesterday. I didn't bother to reply back. Not really a masseur, upcharges, shortchanges on time, a total non-repeat.

Figuring that some guys might be in the air flying, I give an 8 hour window...after that I deem them non-responsive and an automatic "no"
 

Given the very justifiable criticism escorts receive when they check texts and messages during a session I always give a guy 12 - 24 hours to respond. Most guys will respond within a couple of hours. That said, I am rarely looking for "right now" and usually am looking for the next day/next few days Additionally, when texting guys I start out with my name and where I found him. (e.g. "Hi, name's rvwnsd and I'm texting about your RM ad." When they reply I get into more details. It avoids the embarrassing situation of entering a wrong number and asking Sister Mary Chastity about an escort appointment.

I tend to be more empathetic because life happens but I apply the WhatsApp principle mixed with the 24hr response time benchmark that most businesses apply nowadays: If my message has double check (delivered and seen) - hence acknowledged - and he doesn't reply until next day, I move on.

I once had the following experience. I sent a text to two recommended providers which was descriptive of myself and what I was looking for; you know, some variant on old man wants to enjoy the company of a hot younger man. I politely asked for a response even if they were declining so I could look elsewhere. After about four hours, I got suspicious and tried a naughty experiment.
