The first time I meet someone I’ve already done enough due diligence to be satisfied that not only is there virtually no risk of any sort of defrauding but also that the gentleman has a sincere intent that we have a great time together.
 
Put another way, I’m filtering based on “how will I feel after spending time with this person” rather than physical appearance and if I don’t have a good emotional vibe to begin with then it never gets to a point where I’m uncomfortable.

Yes there are scammers, but my take on it is that escorts get scammer clients also, frequently. So asking for money upfront may be a problem, or just a way for an escort to verify YOU are the real deal.

It’s partly going to depend on which payment processor you use, and which features you need to suit your membership vision.
 
Start with figuring out which payment processor you want - not all processors will work with adult content (paypal definitely does not) if that’s what you’re putting in your membership section. Also, if you plan to accept Visa and MasterCard, there’s an annual fee of $500 each. Once you’ve selected a payment processor, ask them about plugins. They will have a tech team that can advise you on which ones will work with WP and their system. Also, if you use one of their recommendations, they’ll often do the installation and setup for you, and they’re expert at trouble shooting.
 
If you’re not going to have adult content, most of this post still applies. You’ll have more options for payment processors and you won’t have the Visa/MC fees.

I think most all bend the truth, with varying intentions. For example, most will tell you you're the only client they're seeing that day (even one on a traveling road show where you know the are seeing 4-6 clients/day). Some will tell you they are making enough to retire and have an exit plan/strategy, tell you they make more money than they actually do, or they have a college degree from a good school, are from a super wealthy family the list goes on. I'm sure some of these statements are true, but I hear them too often for that to be likely. Others may tell lies with more nefarious intentions. I think it's part of the game when you come into this space....you are paying for a fantasy which is not reality; the escort in many cases is telling you what they think you want to hear while also protecting their own privacy. I don't expect 100% truth from my providers, and therefore don't ask a lot of deep questions....keep it light, and keep it moving.
 
That said, I do expect them to provide courteous professional service (which means keeping your word on things) ...like, being on time, providing the service(s) agreed, and not being sketched out on drugs when we meet.
