They did. Remember the “Pepsi challenge” tv commercials? I believe this has been studied for some time. Pepsi did defeat coke in blind “sipping tests” which led to the reformulation of coke to be a Pepsi clone 30 odd years ago. But what no one took into consideration was that you generally do not sip a drink when you consume it. You take in a much larger quantity in a single gulp. Hence the sweetness of new coke / Pepsi did not appeal to fans of the less sweet classic coke. And you know the rest. Two additional things though, and I could be wrong about both, but I seem to remember reading that when coke reintroduced coke classic they took the opportunity to replace cane sugar with corn syrup. I also believe new coke remained the default in Europe and Asia long after it disappeared in the US.

Speaking of pecs - was in Shoprite a couple weeks ago when in walked a couple of early 20-something cuties (might have been younger actually). One had light brown hair, the other was blonde, breathtakingly gorgeous! I was drooling! But the thing was they were wearing t-shirts with cut off sleeves. They both had cut off so much sleeve that you could totally see their (not huge but very well defined) pecs and dark brown nipples! HOT! When they passed by me my jaw was on the floor. I immediately stopped shopping and followed them from a discrete distance. Wasn't really getting a good look so after a few minutes I dropped all pretense, walked by them, then turned around and came back the other way. Did that a couple times actually. They didn't seem to pay me much nevermind, so I wasn't worried. Between that and the shopping I must have been in there for an hour! 😱

In the frozen crap aisle, I think I spot what looks like a pair of modest but excellent pecs.  It turns out I was right, and they were set off by a trim waist.

The last few posts remind me of the last time I described seeing a hot guy in the locker room (earlier in this same thread actually). Someone jokingly suggested I take a pic of the guy and post it. The morality police came out in force. As for me I have never taken a pic of myself or anyone else in the locker room but other guys do it all the time, esp selfies in the mirror. I have even been asked on a couple of occasions by other guys to take pics of them posing with their own phone. That’s hot BTW. I always say “portrait or landscape?” with a big shit eating grin on my face.

Grinder is a numbers game.   95% of your interactions will lead nowhere, and might include getting blocked (as Mr Maus said for no reason).   Some ppl (including me) use block to simply remove people from the seemingly endless pool of potential connections.
What I have learned from Grindr:   there are a lot of legit hot young guys who are into older guys and #DaddyDick.   It's a thing.  Many are even into out of shape older guys.  So, if you get past being blocked, and feeling like "he would never be interested in me" and just work what you have you might be surprised what turns up.
Also, lots of young guys on Grindr looking for $Gen.  You have to be careful about this, but lots of hot young guys can be found for for 50-100 VS RentMen rates.

I understand but in both cases they contacted me first and they didn’t send me dic pics (lots of other guys did BTW). I did send a real face pic and offered to meet in person to show them the goods - they each live less than 5 minutes away according to the locator. I still think it was some kind of scam. Just trying to figure out how it works.

The more you put yourself out there, the more likely you'll find someone who is actually interested. If that doesn't include a dick pic, you have to have other things going for you. But Grindr is for more NSA hookups and somewhat anonymous seekers of sex - most of which would find it odd that you won't send a dick pic. If you don't plan to send any nude photos, put that in the text of your profile. Or just get Scruff - people are generally friendlier and more personable there.
Try not to take blocking personally. Culturally, it is acceptable to block someone for any reason and without notice. I don't necessarily like this, but it has a lot to do with what they desire and how they can achieve that - especially if they aren't paying for the premium version of the app, limiting how many profiles they can see, how many photos they can send, and even how many messages they can send. When blocking, people are narrowing the field of possible encounters by deleting those they are not interested in.

Scammers and pic collectors make up too large a percentage of the users.  Go with your gut.  
A couple hints.  Since users are not required to use the distance indicator, if they tap you, mark their profile as a favorite.  Your favorites are sorted by distance, so you’ll get an idea whether they’re local.  You can always remove them from favorites.  If they send a message and your profile wasn’t in their “nearby” tab, the message will appear with “Sent from Explore” under it.  If they don’t have the distance indicator set, add it to favorites and see where it falls.  The guy may be outside of the “nearby” range but still local.  
I had a really cute, young guy message me last week.  I have my age in my profile, so he knew how old I was.  I engaged with him for a few texts just to test him and then commented that usually the young guys who message someone my age are scammers.  The chat and his profile suddenly disappeared.  
I’m not a no pic/no chat guy.  I understand some guys have legitimate reasons for not posting one, but I always get a kick out of the guys with no pic or profile information and their first message is “pic?” Or better yet, “need my dick sucked.”  I usually reply “yes, your completely blank profile has me so turned on.”

I'm sure that's true in large metro (no pun intended) areas but in central NJ guys are very prudish. Can't tell from your profile where your from but here you rarely see guys walking around shirtless (occasionally when I'm biking on the D&R canal but that's about it) and I've belonged to 3 different gyms since I relocated here and about the best you can expect is to see a guy in his tighty whiteys. Previously I lived in Jersey City and the situation was much different. Lots of cute guys jogging on the Hudson River path and the gym I belonged to (NYSC in Hoboken) was absolutely teeming with drop dead gorgeous men who were the opposite of prudish (is there a word for that?). I couldn't wait to get there every night. Almost everyone, even the staff, weren't averse to bearing all and in retrospect I think I spent a little too much time in the locker room. Miss that place.

I wanted to wait until he left but it was late, getting dark so I hang out for a while, nothing happening so I start to go. Side note: I've noticed jock-type gay or gay curious guys lingering at the basketball hoops at a couple of parks I walked my dogs and at least twice observed a love connection (or lust connection) unfolding after the game when most of the guys were heading home.

Agree that Connery will always be equated with Bond and NSNA was god awful (more like a bad spoof of a Bond film). But I don’t agree that his performance in “Diamonds” set the standard. I like the film and Shirley Bassey’s title song is terrific (in fact all 3 of her Bond themes are great) but Connery is irritatingly unctuous in the lead role and by ‘71 he didn’t even look the part anymore, fat and unathletic. He hated the producers and he skipped “Her Majesty’s Secret Service” so I think he knew it was his last go round as Bond and basically mailed it in.
