  1. Think I disagree. Blackmail is extortion (demanding money). Hush money is more like a bribe (offering money).
  2. You make it sound like Pride is (or was) supposed to be an organized church event where all the faithful would show up in their sunday best for a nice parade with candy apples and singing of hymns. Pride is exactly not that. It has always been a thumb in the eye of prudes and bigots. We are here. We are queer. If you don’t like it, get the f_ck out of here. I agree that it may go too far at times. Sure, it will rub some people the wrong way. But we are doing that already by simply existing. The message should be one welcoming of diversity and inclusion. Does it annoy me when retailers take advantage by selling Pride merch. Sure, but I also enjoy it when the prudes and bigots freak out about it. We should be aware that there are some that truly mean us harm. So take care of yourself and those around you. In the iconic words of Sister Sledge: We are family. (Even when we disagree).
  3. This type of thing never happens to the rich and famous as they can afford the best attorneys who can file motions and most judges will consult with advisory committees before accepting an appointment to avoid this being used on appeal. I am concerned about due process for those who cannot afford the best legal defense. No public defender has time for a comprehensive review of a 55 page jury instruction document that go into great detail as to how evidence should be considered.
  4. It does depend on your State and type of felony (Type A, Type B etc) Did you have a particular State in mind?
  5. No comment from me. I am set in my ways and still catch myself saying “GLBT”… 🙈
  6. Why are you listening to politicians and the Fed when it comes to inflation? Go to the source: the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The news release for inflation in April (dated May 15) under “Latest Releases” did not mention “core” once. 🤓
  7. That is not correct - when calculating CPI, both fuel and food ARE included.
  8. So Disney is still down quite a bit and it looks like one battle is behind it. https://www.axios.com/2024/05/30/nelson-peltz-sells-disney-stake
  9. What is it with these billionaire idiots and their weird hobbies rooted in the past. Submarines to the Titanic…hot air balloons around the world like it is 1930? 😆
  10. It is a public holiday. Don’t they deserve a day off? 🤔 Are we seeing big man reborn?
  11. It was fleet week in NYC - lots of Navy and Coast Guard vessels on display and the streets were filled with uniformed sailors.
  12. This was floating around social media yesterday. Can’t vouch for the truthfullness but will look into it… Won’t surprise me much either way.
  13. Right-winger…. Water is woke. (Hey, you started it!) 😆😆
  14. I’ve always wanted to see this in real life. I will wear a sign: Even with lube, I am easier to climb! https://www.hstoday.us/subject-matter-areas/maritime-security/u-s-naval-academy-freshmen-conquer-slippery-herndon-climb-to-cap-first-year/
  15. Are you thinking physical gold (like coins) or GLD?
  16. I’ll add some perspective. Yes, we added more debt over the past four years, during and post Covid than we did in the previous 10 years (roughly). But why? Its not just the spending, keep in mind we have an interest problem. Interest rates on debt were in a downward cycle until 2020 and have been rising since. so we are now paying quite a bit more in interest than we did before which means we need to borrow more to cover the interest too. So it is compounding the problem…literally. It is very concerning and will come back to haunt us… 😐
  17. That is fair - we did lose fiscal discipline; but that has been the case for many years (starting in 2001, to be honest.) So what changed in the past 3 to 4 years to spark inflation? The short answer is Covid and various conflicts.
  18. Thank you for reminding me why I hate people and love my dog! 😆 I say dump the dead weight and go do your own thing! 😉
  19. Dont be so blood thirty! Hasnt anyone heard of the Sinclair method? I am shocked that Abby recommends AA when treatment with 80% effectiveness is available. https://www.sinclairmethod.org/
  20. Not that strange in NYC. When you live with room mates in a small space, it is less hassle to meet at the client’s place.
  21. I suspect your sample size it too small.
  22. You are going a little overboard, arent you? I mean, homemade bread? Is he kneading you or the dough? 😋 Is he staying over? Maybe just ask him his beverage of choice and dont try too hard to impress. Condoms, lube and a smile is all you really need! 😉
  23. That is right up there with blaming mercury being in retrograde.
  24. I would suggest a travel insurance policy - it is about as temporary as you can gey. It will take care of large, unexpected medical expenses during his visit but will likely not cover existing conditions. You can also consider World Nomad which is usually more comprehensive and intended for digital nomads that work in various spots - they have a USA coverage option. Getting a traditional policy (Aetna or UHC) is difficult since it is really a full year commitment.
  25. You do you…but that doesnt sound like fun to me. My favorite position is any position that allows us to cum together.
