You are taking the right steps - getting to know yourself and speaking to a therapist is a good start. For a relationship to start, progress and mature you need to be open to the idea. Human trafficking does happen. We often read about it - every few years we hear about a diplomat or a rich family that abuse and basically hold hostage a domestic helper.
