Most 403(b) plans offer a Roth option - you can start by channeling new contributions into a Roth part of the 403(b) that way. Some 403(b) plans allow in service distributions/withdrawels before age 59 and a half - you can use that to shift funds into an IRA and then do a Roth conversion of those funds. Be prepared to pay taxes on any funds shifted out of your 403(b). I highly recommend that you speak to a professional before making any of these moves - it can get complicates and messy if not done correctly and with appropriate planning.

I recently resigned from the board of a charity for much the same reason. It was clear to me that the leadership had lost the plot and a number of expenses did not appear appropriate or fruitful. I had to make a “noisy exit” to make my misgivings and resignation clear and ensure it was noted by all stakeholders and my departure cannot be in doubt. I had a word with the auditor as well since there is no audit committee. My professional qualifications could be in peril if I am associated with this type of shenanigans. A little off topic, if you will indulge. I was traveling in Barbados a few months ago. Needed new running shoes and stopped by a local store. The salesman told me the shoes I liked the looks of, was actually meant for cricket. They were Pumas - very colorful. Very good looking. So was the salesman! 😉 Ended up going to a game of cricket with him. Day/night game I think they called it. He explained that was the reason why they didnt use the traditional red cricket ball. i agree - Dave Ramsey had some good ideas about budgeting and saving for a rainy day, but that is pretty much where the value stops. To listen to him about credit or investing is a mistake. His rants are a bridge too far. FICO is a little like baseball - learn the game and play it with patience.
