I’ve only been hiring for a couple of years, but long enough to notice certain patterns. I enjoyed whoring around when I was younger, and after a l-o-o-o-o-ng period of sexual abstinence, hiring seemed a way to recreate the excitement and risk of that life: a new guy every time, and no strings attached. So I was surprised to find myself, within about a year, in a steady twice-a-month “relationship” with a single provider. That’s ongoing, and quite fulfilling; but I still hanker after novelty, and living in New York, the provider selection is enormous and varied and ever-changing. My wants are specific, and I generally research my hires pretty carefully; but I tend to go off the rails a bit in the summertime, and this year’s Pride celebrations nearly did me in, financially and physically! I’m not sure what the fall will bring; I look forward to getting back into a quieter series of regular visits with my guy, but on the other hand, I travel a lot between September and May, and every city has its temptations ...

Absolutely. My “regular” hire is completely out of my league, so much so that I hesitated a while before I made contact the first time. But amazingly we hit it off right away, sexually and otherwise, so go figure.

That’s hysterical. He gave me exactly the same line about my American accent being difficult to understand. FWIW he and I have had some really hot interactions, but some have been hotter than others, his “interactivity” level seems weirdly variable. (The language barrier hasn’t been a big problem—we don’t talk much, lol). There’s something that keeps drawing me back to him—aside from his smoking hot body, of course. He is genuinely friendly, for one thing, and he’s got a forthright, almost innocent quality that I find very appealing. Sorry you guys didn’t click at first, but you should consider seeing him again—he might surprise you!

But you still won’t know WHY the other client got quoted a higher rate—unless he tells you outright that yes, he weighs 400 lbs and routinely presents potential hires with page after page of single-spaced detailed scenarios and instructions. So yes, the rate is variable, but unless you know why—and you can’t—I’m not sure what good that knowledge does you. I prefer to just ask the provider.

Not necessarily. A provider can charge whatever he likes—it’s not like the rate is set by The Hustler Board of Trade, or something. And the rate he quotes you can be affected by lots of things, including how you present yourself to the provider, what you’re into, etc.—factors that are not necessarily included in these posted discussions. So I tend not to pay much attention to forum reports about rates, but go directly to the provider.

I agree. The rate a provider quotes another guy is not necessarily the rate he’ll quote you.

Gauge was always one of my favorite guys, and what I wouldn’t give to have been able to hire him in his prime! I don’t know what he’s doing now, but the MMA fighter gig may be old news. The “new” photos I’ve seen of him as a fighter are eight years old. It took a while to align our schedules, but I finally saw him today, and at the risk of repeating myself: Ho. Lee. FUCK.
