I think expecting the IRS to lift your bank info from a physical check sent in with a tax return is an erroneous expectation....In your case, if you already receive Social Security via direct deposit, then the IRS will have access to the needed info....
There is some chatter that coming soon - the IRS will have a website (& / or) an app up & running where one can transmit bank info to them if your bank info for direct deposit is not with any of the various governmental agencies yet.

The stimulus payment is technically a rebate on 2020 taxes which is why the payments are not taxable. I won't repeat the formula since it was posted previously. The first round of stimulus payments are scheduled to be issued no later than April 10. Those payments will go to the millions of 2019 and 2018 tax filers who provided bank account information to the IRS when they submitted their tax forms. They are also working on matching social security benefit payments made to individuals who did not have to file taxes to send them the stimulus payments as well (over 98% of benefit payments are paid electronically).
 
It will take much longer for the millions who did not provide bank account information (aka received a refund check or paid taxes due by check). For those people, they are working on creating a portal called "wheresmystimuluscheck.gov" where people can enter bank account information. Those people will be in the second wave. The third wave will be the remaining people who do not want to give bank account information, or they may be unbanked.
 
The third wave will either receive checks or debit cards. The details are being finalized but checks can take up to 3 months to distribute due to capacity issues.

Back in December, I used a ton of frequent flyer miles to purchase a one year membership in the Star Alliance airport lounges, because I expected to be doing a fair amount of leisure flying in 2020. I haven't used it, I'll bet I never get to use it at all, and I'm sure there won't be any refund.

I hate to say this, but this pandemic isn't going away soon.
 
We're only in the first wave of it. There will be a second wave in the early fall if projections by virologists are correct.

I had a client offer this exactly a few days ago. We meet for 2 hr. Appointments and he offered to pay for 1 hr. In advance. I thanked him and declined for the time being.

I booked two places in Palm Springs for late March/early April which I had to cancel b/c of the virus and travel concerns. I was able to cancel one without issue and received a full refund. When cancelling the other place, I was going to be charged 50 percent of the cost. However, I was able to contact the hosts whom were terrific and explained that there would be no penatiy if I re-booked for a future stay, which I did for early June.

I canceled yesterday and there is no refunds or credits. I’m eating half the total cost of my stay. The manager calls it sharing the risk.

Also stocks that consistently pay dividends help to cushion the losses.

Great Question. Topping just isn’t my thing but he sure had an awesome time! I had fun throughout and I’d give the encounter 2 thumbs up. Keep in mind that truthfully I’ve topped less than 10x in my life and it really was a rarity.

I had a FL based client cancel on me with this concern. As many of you know I tour the US and Canada only. This has been my only occurrence thus far. My travels, inquiries, and messages all seem to be “business as usual” currently.

I am bi and I’ll tell you that I have teamed up once with a female. The client provided her so I did not speak to her before the session. All went well. I have had one female hire me and a few “straight” couples. I do not market heavily that I am bi or into women so as you’d imagine, 99% of my clients are guys.
