Hi, IronMaus!  I don’t have a recommendation for you as far as an accountant goes but if you find yourself nearing a tax filing deadline and you still haven’t found an accountant I’d file for a filing date extension.  That would buy you some time while you look for a good accountant.

I’m a CPA and would suggest you find someone local to do your taxes if you live in a place that has state and city taxes.  I’m only familiar with the state taw laws for my state and an adjacent state.
If your accountant practiced by himself and you weren’t able to get your accounting records, I’d also contact your state accountancy board and find out who has his accounting records.   It will be a lot easier for your new accountant if they have his records if there are things like depreciation schedules, loss coverovers, etc that may not be on the return.

We've now prospered for over 30 years, never ever reducing debt, and are still awaiting this "looming disaster".

I’m in much better shape now than I was in 2020.  My combined asset portfolio at the end of 2023 is up over 15% and so far in 2024 I’m up an additional 5%.   I’m a fairly conservative investor and usually buy and hold for the long term.  This philosophy has served me well.  Now that I’m a septuagenarian I’m beginning to reduce my holdings via gifts and donations to charitable organizations.

Financially speaking I am definitely better off. Funny enough, my current average monthly expenses are only up 2% from 2019. I’ve never been a big spender - the bulk of my increased net income since 2019 has gone into investments.

I know that everyone’s situation is different, but I was expecting everyone to say yes to this question. The market is up about 45% since Feb 2020. Home prices sky rocketed. Surely many of the people on this forum own substantial amounts of stock and real estate.
I’m definitely better off, and I include my social life in that statement. Covid was a chance to get very close to people without the distractions of our normally-busy lives. Those bonds have lasted for me.

Honey?? The money is the honey mister. 😂 He was contacting a service provider for a service, not attracting a mate with sweet overtures. People shouldn't be walking on eggshells for these clowns and scammers and thinking it’s their own fault when they act poorly. Cross them off and spread the word to avoid!!

I have no debt of any sort but I use one particular credit card as much as I can.   The reward benefits really add up over time.  Of course, I pay off any credit card balance monthly and never carry a balance forward.

Zero debt here.   But charge every purchase I can for the awards/points.  I have been able to maintain Delta thanks to AmEx and have a lot of miles and points.   But I pay the balance in ful (and try to pay the balance before the due date so it closes with a zero balance for credit reporting) and use my credit cards as a convenience not necessity.

I have known Miguel for years
My sessions I'm sure are very different than many of you.... He also does legit massage on a table including a quick bath with essential oils.
When I throw my back out I would sometimes contact him.
Miguel had a Stalker who would play games & he changed his # suddenly a few times. I think that may be why he required a small deposit & went silent
I have seen him many times so I think there must be a reason as he always seemed honest to me.  My hotel had issues& it took forever to get Upstairs& it ended up being a shorter session& he made things up to me so cheating a client on purpose goes against all my experiences
A friend told me he's gotten JACKED. I am excited to see his new improved body soon.
