I think if we open a section in this forum for amateurs to advertise, the rates will come down. Due to RM, a few select ones who are better marketeers and commerce-oriented than service-oriented get unnecessary airtime and jack the prices up unreasonably.
SESTA etc laws won't allow us to open such a section, but the supply-side of the trade needs to improve. 
In a comment above someone said the young ones are the ones quoting $500. As I age, I find many things expensive that some younger folks I know and who make much less than I do, don't. My price points seem to have fixated in early 2010s. That makes me wonder if the younger demographic of hobbyists (say 20s-40s) on this forum finds $500 expected price to pay to spend an hour with a provider you find attractive.

I would. Most of the time it's just a head game they play with themselves. And this guy looks hot, has great reviews. Go for it.
