They die in the end. If they'd just stayed on the down low until the next port they could have lived a happy life together.

Ok, here's my improvement: in the 22 years I've been escorting the industry has not supported my raising my rates, not once. I charged $XXX/hour in 1999 and I charge the same $XXX in 2021, and I could not realistically charge more, nor could I have charged more in say 2009. However, West side Lawyers charged $350/hr in 1999 and are charging around $800 or even $1000/hour now. I don't want to charge $1000/hour, but the fact that male escorts are basically locked in to charging the same rates for the last 22 years, indicates that we are under-appreciated, even though OF COURSE I know we are greatly appreciated. The improvement I want? I want male escorts to be paid more. Not the same as female escorts, which these days are, what, $500/hour? more? but more than we were in 1999, that would be nice. But I can't bitch, I'm doing fine. Or I was before the pandemic. Other Improvements? I guess I wish more explicit reviews returned, though I understand why they can't. I've never had problems with clients not showing up, or rather it's happened so rarely I won't complain. I think RentMen is basically a good site. I know people complain, but I'm just grateful they don't charge RentBoy prices and that RentMasseur doesn't charge MassageM4M prices, so no complaints there. Legalizing it SOUNDS like a good idea, I'm just afraid that might make it more likely my family and friends might find out, and they would not understand. I was resistant to Venmo/Zelle years ago, and in fact lost a client as a result, but I bitch about it less these days. I prefer cash, I also realize that we are moving away from cash. I'm sure other improvements will come to me the moment I hit "post reply". :-)

Oh no, someone posted this song again. This song has the reverse effect on me, makes me very sad. Oh well, back down the well.

The Tragic Curse Of Being The Most Beautiful Boy In The World
Rod Hagen replied to TruthBTold's topic in Movies
We can't evaluate something's merits, in this case pace, now based on the unfortunate fact that currently many people think Avengers movies and Hunger Games books are the cadence to aspire toward. A Visconti's film is the perfect pace for a Visconti film, then and now. Thinking of Visconti, have you ever seen Conversation Piece? It's bathshit and I love it. -

Awesome. "No No No No. This is an inquiry-line....I ask the questions." HA! -

That's sweet. Mom insisted I was not allowed to graduate high school. She was joking about her own sadness, nevertheless the empty nest really tore her apart for years. On the other hand, Nora Ephron once wrote that the empty nest is underrated -
What's the very worst musical you ever saw?
Rod Hagen replied to Merboy's topic in Live Theater & Broadway
That's a good point. I understand why people like/love the documentary. To me it always seemed unnecessarily cruel, and I'm not a particularly nice person. However, I absolutely went to the musical with an open mind because so many ppl, whose opinions and tastes I respect, loved it. And yet, I hated it. Back to your point HTW, years ago I asked a friend to watch a move about Die Weisse Rose, and I thought it was awesome. But he knew nothing about Sophie Scholl and so he hated it. Some works of art do assume a level of familiarity with the subject. I love that. I love being lost and having too look everything up later, or, better yet, looking it up beforehand. My books are filled with words and lines underlined to look up once I'm finished with the book; it's part of the fun. But, not for some people. -

He's beautiful, he's Tadzio incarnate, objectively. Movie's brilliant, objectively. Thanks for the heads up about the documentary. -

New York. Ebersol. Hated it. And yes, I am gay. -
I love LetterKenny because it's the Anti-Schitt's Creek. I love LetterKenny because the dialogue is faster than Gilmore Girls and Veep turned to 11.** I love LetterKenny because the music is carefully and brilliantly curated. I love LetterKenny because Wayne reminds me of every hot man I grew up around. And I love LetterKenny because even though all the stars are Zillenials, the characters display the mean indifference of Generation Z: "Fuck I could watch kids fall off bikes all day, I don't give a shit about your kid." ** Until today I hadn't thought of using the Hulu subtitles and I'm glad I had to follow the GunFire cadence on my own.

Grey Gardens. Wretched waste of several hundred bucks for 2 tickets. -
15+ years ago I remember being at the WeHo Gay Starbucks and Zak and Matthew were there. Zak was just stunning in person.

Oh My god I totally remember. My friend and I were fucking at Bare Ass Creek in the San Gabriels. The next day on the Cruising for Sex website some guy posted, "Yesterday I saw two old guys fucking next to the stream" Two old guys? I wasn't even 35! -
As a kid I'd always try to find a copy of Judy Blume's "adult" book, Forever. It wasn't particularly erotic, but it was sexual and I enjoyed seeing the author of SuperFudge write about Penis. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VH7OEMK/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1

We think of her as a comic actress, and she was brilliant at that, but her performance in The Last Picture show is crushing.

Here's the review. Keep in mind Variety rarely writes negative reviews. Haven't watched it yet, it seems pretty typical, which is not a bad thing. Look forward to watching it, thank you for bringing it to us Orville; I am fond of movies featuring male prostitutes :-) https://variety.com/2019/film/reviews/rialto-review-1203321325/ -
He's now a cop in my small home town. Hated that motherfucker. Of course now as an adult I've learned from gossip that he and his siblings were HORRIBLY abused. I've talked to him briefly at a couple funerals. Seems to be adjusted and doing well and from what I hear he is a very fair police officer.

Best line in the awful movie was along the lines of, "Don't try to understand it."
-
I don't know when that was, but I'm guessing they have not.
-
I've mentioned it before, when I started escorting I had clients who were my, then living, Grandfather's age, which I thought was pretty cool.

The Leonardo Di Caprio movie about Rimbaud is bad but fun to watch. After Titanic was released it was impossible to find in videoStores. I don't know if that's because customers stole it or if the Studio hired people to steal them. Anyway, it's worth watching.
