They test for kidney and liver function among other things in the initial PreP visits, which could suggest a patient might not tolerate the medicine well. They continue these tests while taking the med to monitor for possible harm to the kidneys, which may develop over time, in addition to the HIV test at each PreP visit.

I love, LOVE to soap my guys completely, then rinse them off, every nook and cranny, inside and out, perhaps send thru spin dry also.

So glad to see this forum being used to raise awareness of this increasing risk. I think it needs to spill over into the Deli. I've had several somewhat awkward conversations now with service providers who either ask me why I still want to use a condom or why I'm not on PrEP myself. Maybe its an over-reaction on my part, but in these conversations it feels like the expectation now is that condoms won't be used, and that's a big shift. That truly scares me -- for myself as well as others.
