  1. Oh no. That's sad. I was supposed to be meeting him this week ( tentatively ). I hope everything is ok with him. Speaking to him briefly seemed like a very nice young man.
  2. Thank you @RadioRobfor keeping watch. I'm sure this is all very time consuming. Much appreciated.
  3. I don't think casting an actor from a different cultural/ethnic background than the person they are portraying is at all "woke". As long as they can handle the role, they ARE acting after all. Gender roles and racial roles have been swapped for centuries. I am myself guilty of rolling my eyes at the first episode of "Bridgerton" expecting a woke version of Regency England. But I was pleasantly surprised. The actors are all quite accomplished and the directors didn't try to update the scripts, or style of language to make it funky/modern like "Hamilton" on Broadway. It merely elaborates on the North African ancestry of Queen Charolette but adds more dark skinned characters to the cast than were likely to have been running around early 19th Century London . You might say...that the subtle subtext of mixing of races is "woke" , and that may be slightly true, but it's so well done that it doesn't have the finger wagging correctness that puts off some people. SO I think in the end, Progressive cultural productions need to find a balance where you are left to think without feeling you are being preached to. Extreme woke-ism shoved down MY throat does make me gag. I'm sure, I'm not alone in feeling that I don't mind being left to think, about a production, but prefer to not be told WHAT to think.
  4. I don't think anyone feels you shouldnt provide sexual health information to teenagers. The controversy is about elementary school children being exposed to more than most parents feel appropriate. I tend to agree. Its MY decision as a parent to delve into explaining the fringes of society with my kids and it's my decision how I teach them about things that run counter to mainstream ideology. And I'm not even saying I'm isolating my kids. My kids are New Yorkers and see pretty much everything. I am saying the how and when is a parents choice. Although I don't think you SHOULD be a bigot. I do agree that people have a right to the religious beliefs as much as I may disagree with them. It's none of my business.
  5. "Undetectable" is a temporary status. That can vary from week to week. "Poz / undetectable as of my last checkup" would be a more honest status.
  6. Clearly if anyone is HIV negative they would indicate HIV negative. So I am confident for anyone leaving that blank, it means *I'm HIV positive and I don't wish to discuss it.* There's always an exception to every rule but I would advise to err on the side of caution no matter WHAT HIV status a stranger tells you. You're paying Your choice. . Condoms may not be fashionable anymore with the younger kids but they are still practical for gentlemen who are getting older and don't necessarily recover quickly from STIs anymore. Use your head to think.
  7. I have trouble with the way current activism is buried in a sea of protesting. Larry Kramer.was effective with ACT UP. Stonewall was an historic movement But the 70s and 80s are over and y'all are competing with 50 other special interest groups for attention now.
  8. I didn't say you should not have HAD them. I am saying going forward it's falling on deaf ears. The continuous pot-banging from EVERY group these days is tiresome and therefore losing its ability to get attention. Everyone is bored with the same old protest marches. Times for new and better strategies.
  9. Ugh. I'm so tired of every disenfranchised group calling for "civil disobedience". At this point, everyone has grown deaf to this sort of protesting. Who DOESN'T protest today ? The Chinese are out protesting, the Muslims are out protesting. You have women's rights / gay rights / trans rights / labor rights / immigrant rights / abortion rights ...all groups using the same tired strategy. You want influence - run for office instead of holding signs and yelling slogans.
  10. Turkey and Morocco turn a blind eye to tourists. Certain Arab Peninsula Nations do the same. But always with Muslims it's best to be very discreet. Even as a tourist. I would opt for the less luxurious hotel with two beds.
  11. Well of the people who were clearly ( and some admittedly ) Aspergers....I have to say none of them were good at sports. True. I can think of one who was definitely rather clumsy. I never associated the two. Interesting fact. Thanks for sharing.
  12. I prefer to know what people REALLY think. Let the bigots of the world, have their voice. Then you know who to avoid. Silencing freedom of speech only takes hate underground and makes it more undetectable and dangerous.
  13. I've known a few Aspergers people over the years. Definitely struggled with social cues. But then that's probably why you know they're on the Spectrum. I have to think about the clumsy thing. I wonder if you take that more in stride and it stands out less than the weirdness of the inability to move a conversation forward.
  14. Exactly the same in NYC. Working out of City Hall would be unlikely, but that's where 90% of the "map me" function, landed.
  15. True. But that's why it's called a spectrum. Plus that spectrum is why it's difficult to test for. Lots of variations in the symptoms. I'm no expert but poor social skills seems to be more typical than the clumsiness that is often but not always associated with the condition.
  16. Why don't you hire him and maybe he will give it to you.
  17. More like $20 more for every 10 pounds or $100 more for every decade over 40
  18. I guess just to be clear that dinner and drinks are unlikely to be included in the "date".
  19. Dollar General + Malt Liquor + Lake County Florida = at least she didn't have a loaded weapon under that towel.
  20. Oh my. So he was recording the "lewd act" ? Do you think he has an OnlyFans that he shares with his dog ?
  21. I have always answered everyone who Private Messaged me. I am happy to share, if I can be of help. Occasionally people ask me things like "how big's his dick" and I can only say I didn't bring my tape measure...but for the most part I don't mind sharing information.
  22. Several of the posters on this site have this habit of assuming my observations are also my own viewpoints. No. I am not personally celebrating. I am saying I UNDERSTAND why others would. I understand the "don't bite the hand that feeds you" reflection but clearly they don't care. It's a little like saying you should be thankful for the money your parents give you but you should keep quiet about fact they are mismanaging their source of income.
  23. I follow his Instagram. He travels quite a bit and seems to toggle back and forth between NYC and LA when he's not traveling the world. I admire his free-wheeling spirit.
  24. Just horrible. I couldn't believe this made it to post production without anyone intervening in this trainwreck. Who finances this kind of crap ?
