ROMEO (PlanetRomeo) is the best dating & social network for gay, bi and trans people on Web, iOS & Android. Join now!

I had a pretty good experience with Bruno. He hosts and has a nice flat. Smart, communicative guy. Handsome. Looks like his photos - without the filters.

Great, thanks for sharing! It's the first time I've seen his profile, so I assume Bruno travels and doesn't live in Brussels.

twins? Do the muscle guys from Romania still go? For a while those big muscle guys were there every day literally cock-blocking guys walking by with their boners. They never kept their towels on and chewed up half the viagra in BCN. The Brazilian and Venzeulian i know who were always there don't go anymore and the Polish kid who slept there is gone. There was also a cute Modolvian blond guy who went a lot. My impression is there's not as many guys from those areas anymore.

I meant to say twinks, hahaha. Sorry.

As much as I love Stiges and the week-long gay pride there, the main attraction of BCN to me after several visits is frankly Thermas and if it's permanantly slow now, I'd rather spend more time this summer in Nice. Last year I skipped a week in BCN for an extra week in Nice. While the sauna there is not many escorts, the nude bars and the Eagle have plenty of "negotible" guys who are attractive. And Romeo and RM are plentiful I find the rates online are the same in both, even though Thermas is much less. I really want to try the French Navy in Toulon too. Several gay bars there I've never been to.

Where did you get the info that Thermas has been slow? Every time I've been in the last few months it's been similar to how it's always been: a varied mix of working guys, from muscular gym types to twinks. Friday and Saturday are always the best time to go.

What's your source to conclude brothels are legal in Spain please?

I'm not the person you asked but...

According to Wikipedia on prostitution in Spain: "Owning an establishment where prostitution takes place is in itself legal, but the owner cannot derive financial gain from the prostitute or hire a person to sell sex because prostitution is not considered a job and thus has no legal recognition."

Sauna Thermas does not derive financial gain from the working boys' income (the boys keep it all for themselves). They only pay the entree fee, like clients.

Prostitution itself is, for now, fully legal in Spain.

that's a really low number for a busy Friday/Saturday afternoon. My most recent visits were on a Tuesday at 8PM and Thursday at 8PM too. Each night had about 10 providers. I was expecting it would be 30 on a Friday/Saturday peak time.

20 providers is a lot though, you'd be surprised. Then again, it's incredibly hard to gauge an actual number since on the busy nights, almost all the providers are in cabins with clients at any given time.

when you went during Fridays and/or Saturdays, were there enough hot guys still available despite the number of clients there? Also, how many providers (on average) were there during their busy hours for those days?

Yeah so your feeling is correct: while on Friday and Saturday there are the most number of providers, there are also the most number of clients so it sort of actually feels like there's about the same amount available as on the other days, simply because more of the providers will be busy with clients so fewer provisers are wandering around (because the others are in cabins or in rooms with clients). Still, Friday and Saturday is still your best bet, simply arrive at 3:30pm and wait at the foot of the stairs and watch the guys arrive. 😉

As for a number it is very hard to say as providers come and go. Maybe anywhere between 10 and 20?

I’m sure this was perhaps discussed somewhere in the decade long thread on Thermas but how does this place exactly work? Sorry have not been to this place before.

I’m guessing it’s a sauna so you aren’t carrying money around etc and only wearing a towel.  Do you meet them at the lockers etc?  You pay after?

It's a sauna so yes, correct, as a client you are also expected (required actually) to wear only a towel. (whether you wear underwear under it or not is up to you. Most don't).

You pay the entree fee, get a key with a locker number and go change. Once you are changed you go down the stairs where the working boys will be waiting or wandering around, and on the bottom most level there's a pool and bar. Some providers will approach you, some won't. If you see someone you like just say "Hey" to them and they will most likely lead the conversation.

Clearly state what you want to happen (suck their dick, have them suck you, get fucked, fuck them, kiss or not,...) and confirm these are things he offers or not (all providers have different limits and things they offer). The standard is 50 euro for one session, no matter what the activity (usually, with some exceptions noted later on), excluding the provider's ejaculation (if you want them to ejaculate, tell them as it's extra money, usually 50 euro extra). There are "strict" tops who sometimes propose to let you fuck them for double the money (so 100 instead of 50 euro for 1 session. I suggest to not do this as they are often not good at bottoming and to search for a true versatile or bottom provider).

If kissing is important to you, ask them to demonstrate to you how they kiss during the conversation. It's forward, yes, but a good kisser will happily oblige and it can save you from disappointment as I've had providers give halfhearted pecks once the session started (when I didn't ask them to show me before).

A session lasts around 20 to 30 minutes (but you as the client should keep track. Most providers will make the session shorter if you don't). The rule of thumb is that it's 50 euro per 30 minutes. So if you were to engage a provider for one hour, it's expected you pay him 100 euro. But always confirm price and duration before starting the session. Some will (jokingly) ask for a tip beforehand, which I always politely decline.

Once you've agreed on everything, it's time to start the session. For this you have 2 options. There are free cabins on the first basement, they have a fixed bench with thin mattresses on them. Some clients find them uncomfortable, for me they work fine. I suggest using the cabins on the left of the stairs (when facing with your back to the stairs) as these have better lighting in them and there are larger cabins. Just ask the provider to get you a larger cabin and they will look for it. Most of the time the larger cabins are in use by providers who are on break (smoking and chatting).

You can also pay for a room. This is always by the hour and they come at various prices, depending on the size. All rooms have a full bed in them with linen and towels so the more expensive ones are simply larger. The comfort remains the same. The price list for the rooms is visible at the entry.

After you are done with the session some providers will take a shower with you, some won't. Then you both go the top floor (street level) where the lockers are. You then get the money from your locker. The provider will be waiting for you in the bathroom next to the entrance (you can't miss it, it will be very clear where it is) and you give them the money there. I don't know why that is the spot but it's been that spot for as long as I've gone there.

The providers don't mind it if you have your phone with you (I use it for Google translate).

If you had a great time with a provider, I suggest you buy them a drink at the bar (if they're not otherwhise engaged with another client). I find it nice chatting to the guys and getting to know them.

I totally understand one might be nervous going for the first time, but I've found that most everyone there (from the staff to the providers) are friendly and want to help you relax because happy, relaxed clients spend more money 😉

Ideal times to go are any day between 4pm and 8pm. The busiest days (with the largest number of providers, but also the most clients) are Friday and Saturday, same time (4pm till 8pm). Outside these hours there will rarely be providers in the sauna.

    Hope this helped!

Anyone seen him yet? I have a scheduled meeting for next weekend with him. Hopefully all goes well.

I would love to hear how it goes! This guy pushes all the (right) buttons with me.

Went to Thermas recently, and here's how it went down for me...

I went there around 8PM on a Tuesday night. There were about 11 rent boys as I was told at the entrance. When I got there, I was looking for bottom boys. Apparently, all that were left were tops. There was one guy who was versatile but he wasn't my type. One of the escorts told me that if I want bottom boys, the time frame for them is from 3PM to 7PM during weekdays. Despite being open 24 hours a day, the availability of bottom boys is limited to 4 hours on a weekday. I guess, the the demand for bottoms is low outside those hours. This leads me to believe that 99% of you who have been harping about Thermas here are bottoms.

Anyway, I wasn't too hurt by not finding a bottom that night, and I left without fucking anyone. Barcelona has a bunch of cruising clubs and saunas, and my needs and wants are thoroughly met. I'm still in Barcelona right now, but I may not pursue Thermas further during this trip because the saunas and cruise clubs here have been awesome for me! Muchas gracias España!

The ideal time for Thermas is always between 4pm and 8pm, on any day. Fridays and Saturdays are the most busy.

Most boys arrive between 4 and 5 and around 7 many already start to leave.

Glad you still had fun! 😊

  10. My skin and mucous membranes are overly sensitive and I've found that all standard brands end up irritating in some form or another.

I've been using 99% Aloe Vera gel. Just the Aloe Vera gel with a smidge of preservatives (which are always needed, since otherwise the lube develops yeast and bacteria) with no perfumes or anything else added. To me it's the best of both worlds of water and silicone: it's slick and lasts longer like silicone, but washes off easily like water based.

I usually carry it in an unmarked bottle (I buy a big container and transfer it) and have had guys commenting on how they liked the lube and asked me where I got it, or if I made it myself.

I used to also make my own lube from golden flaxseed which is absolutely top tier, but a hassle to store and there is a bit of a (not unpleasant) smell.

  11. A friend of mine is visiting San Francisco in a few weeks. I was talking to him about my experience in the various gay spas in NYC and he wondered if there are (gay) spas like that in San Francisco.

So I thought I'd ask the knowledgeable people of this forum : are there any spas in San Francisco akin to those in NYC? (like the ones discussed in the thread about spas in NYC, the ones where happy andings are a possibility and maybe even a table shower)

    Thanks!!

Right now, my top choices are Glasgow and London, Bucharest, or Greece. I'm finding lots of really cheap flights within Europe, but I'm told to look at baggage checking fees.  That's where they make the money.

Correct. The base rate is relatively cheap but only when you fly with a tiny bag with no extras and non-changeable flight. Adding baggage will quickly raise the rate (be sure to always add the baggage during the booking of your flight because at the airport it's double or triple that rate). And if you want a ticket that's refundable or can be changed it can easily double the rate. And they try to have you pay for a seat and be sure to check in online!! Checking in at the airport is crazy expensive (with Ryanair at least it is, they charge about 80 euro to print your boarding pass).

Thanks for all the replies, I found the problem: the settings of my Apple-devices bloked those sites. Nevertheless all providers will block adult sites in the near future

I thought it was probably the settings. From the articles I don't see where they will block the sites. It seems one provider has developed a suite of tools for parents to have more control over the internet acces in their house. There is mention of blocking known phishing sites, but not of adult sites. I'd be very surprised if any actual blocking were to happen since both escorting and adult movies are legal in Belgium.

Only one website ever was blocked by providers after the government forced them to and that's the original PirateBay, a site that distributed ways to download movies and tv series without paying for them.

The blocking of adult sites began last month. Yesterday, this site was blocked too. Today, it isn't. Boys4u (gay escort site) is blocked, although sex work has been legalized two years ago. A site that sells condoms & lube is blocked too but another site that sells condoms & lube isn't blocked  , there's no consistancy at all.

Which internet/phone provider are you with? I live in Belgium and can still freely access all the sites you listed. Both on my home wifi and my mobile data.

I also saw no mention of this on the news anywhere.

Just wanted to wrap this thread up in case future providers are thinking about doing the same thing- Above responses were super helpful, especially those that directed me to look at courses overseas from USA (Europe/Thailand) - after a cursory search I found a LOT of courses from about 900 to 3K that last 5 to 10 days. I am going to pursue those. Thanks for everyone's help :)

Could you send me links to these courses via private message? I'm interested. Thanks!

    cost 8k to 12k

At those rates you may be cheaper off getting a massage course in Thailand. I've heard very good things about them. Is the high cost because of the certification? Or is it just USA prices? Where I live in Europe you can get a full course (12 lessons) for about 900 dollars. Masseurs don't need certification or a license though where I live.

When I look for erotic massages, I take any claims of training in the profile with a grain of salt. Having said that, I do think being actually trained and good at massage will make it more likely to get repeat business.

When I book an erotic massage, I really do also want to get a good massage. I usually don't go back to someone who gives me a bad massage, even if the erotic elements were fun. So I think it's good to at least get SOME training. A lot can be learned by just doing a one day workshop or a weekend training. I'm sure there are options like that that don't cost 8k or upwards.

The few I've been to in NYC have never felt quite sexy. To me they feel very much like you're getting on a sterile hospital table with awful overhead lighting and then YMMV depending on the provider. But I always prefer getting a scrub before a massage, especially if I've been working all day and want to be as squeaky clean as possible before hands start exploring. In other countries however I've encountered a very different table shower experience which really set the mood.

Which other countries have you had table showers in?
