Back in my day (o.k. 20 or so years ago), Boston was a great place to work. Of course, this was before people relied primarily on websites to find a connection. You had to make your interest known in other ways. Maybe things are still working like that to an extent?

Did therapy for two years long ago to work through some personal pain. Best decision I ever made. Changed my life forever. Did psychiatry not psychology. I loved my therapist, an older gay man who had been in a monogamous marriage for over 50 years. He was a true inspiration. He really helped me see the light of day.

I’ve read the comments from both sode and I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s still unnecessary to ask for stats or pics.

For the masseurs or escorts wanting this info you should put this detail within your ad. For those who don’t mind they’ll sure to contact you. For those who wouldn’t provide the info then they’ll just move on without having to bother you.

I too am surprised that clients will agree to photo. In 15 years I've provided stats less than a handful of times, and no pics, which is a total deal breaker. Yes it's 2018 and there is Grindr. But pic on a "dating" site and in an escort email is very different. If concerned, then meet at a mutually agreed public place like coffee shop and go from there.

I certainly sympathize and understand @TopTierTop 's desire to run his business his way, but I also question his assertion that other professions get to hand pick their clientele. Who are you thinking of? Teachers? Doctors? Law Enforcement? Clergy? Beauticians? Undertaker's? Social Workers? Sales personnel? Judges? Military officers? Plumbers? Do any of these folks get to ask for stats and photos before accepting a client?

Please let me be clear that I have no problem with you doing so, although I would be disqualified due to my age. I'm happy to have you as a correspondent on the forum, but certainly would not enjoy being vetted and rejected, or feel you were lowering yourself to accept me as a client (although I am in good shape and pretty cute), so your system works to both our advantage. Most of us spend significant portions of our lives dealing with people we would rather not. I congratulate you that you have apparently found a way to avoid this.

If I replied that my name is Joe, I am 42 y.o., 6'1" and of mixed race, does that help you? (none of this applies).
My name is John, I'm 68 y.o., 5'9" and caucasian, does this help you make the decision?
Even the picture could be of someone else.

When I'm scheduling with someone all that I ask is their name and I invite them to tell me anything they would like about themselves and what they enjoy, that way they can share whatever they feel is relevant. I don't see how someone's job is in anyway relevant to making an appointment. It can make for good conversation once we are together, but isn't important in advance.

I must be a cold hearted shit....because I know I would never say that to anyone. I look at the escorting business with a very gimlet-ed eye--in my mind, you are a contractor I am hiring to perform a technical service I cannot do for myself for whatever reason. I can enjoy your work, and compliment you on doing the task above expectations, but in my mind, you'll always be just a temporary employee. I have an obligation to provide a safe environment & to treat you with basic human respect, but I know we are not two guys who would just hang out and schmooze if money was not the foundation of our interaction. Once I were to hand over money, you go from "attractive guy" to "technician". Like I said, I can enjoy the task, but once I pay for it, to me it becomes not much different from a radiator repair or a cable modem installation.

Not particularly romantic, but that's how I roll...so Mike you would be free to bang me knowing that attachment is not something I really do....just saying....

I don't know what sort of building 'Adam' lives in. The presence of doormen is an indication this is a luxury rental or condo. If that is indeed the case, it is very likely that there are restrictions on using your apartment for business purposes. Especially if the legality of the business itself questionable. I would say that it is probable that some residents complained to the condo board. A steady stream of mature male visitors to apartment 93G? Doormen are very gossipy and usually 'know' what is going on.

So when a new story breaks about the murderer that this thread pertains to being convicted arises, nobody is supposed to be interested in how the story turned out because it happened to be after more time than your perception of how "old" a thread is allowed to be for somebody to update it?

How nice of you to decide for everybody else here whether or not they should be interested in finding out the resolution to the story. I hope for your sake nothing ever comes of the Trump campaign-Russia collusion allegations, because people might be pulling up threads from those prehistoric days of autumn 2016. What an absolute horror that would be!

HOWEVER if you're YOUNG and HOT and you look across the room and simply SEE a man who's NEITHER whom you would NEVER get with, then SOMETHING else you learn about him like his wealth job position etc) makes you CHANGE your mind, whatever misfortune comes to you you ALSO asked for it

Spanker100 reacted to + saminseattle in The Escort Disclaimer
I do not think that a disclaimer is necessarily useless or ineffective. It really all depends on the particular facts of a given situation.

First, remember that it is not a crime to be an escort. Providing someone nonsexual companionship for a fee is perfectly legal. Moreover, as has been discussed many times on this forum, such companionship does occur and may be more common than many people assume. http://www.companyofmen.org/threads/a-session-with-no-sex.111157/; https://www.companyofmen.org/threads/time-only.106963/#post-993783 (post 2), https://www.companyofmen.org/threads/cuddle-up-day-and-miscellaneous-mentions.120706/, https://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/19/fashion/professional-cuddling.html, https://blogs.lawyers.com/attorney/...tween-prostitution-and-escort-services-24035/. For example, many people might be skeptical that a client would pay someone $200 simply to have brunch together with no sex before or after…just to talk, and yet I know for a fact that this kind of thing does happen.

Second, even assuming that many people use escorting as a cover for what is actually prostitution, that does not mean that law enforcement can simply go around arresting escorts on the assumption that they are actually sex workers. The reason cops go to the trouble of setting up stings is that they are trying to get some fairly explicit evidence of a sex-for-money-exchange in a particular case. Remember, a prosecutor may ultimately need to unanimously convince a jury of his case beyond a reasonable doubt, which can be a tough standard to meet if there is any ambiguity or gap in the evidence.

So, for example, if an undercover police officer invites an advertiser to a hotel and gets him to say, “yes, I will fuck you for $200,” then the fact that his ad said, “I do not accept money for sexual acts” would not be particularly helpful to him. If the disclaimer is obviously not true, it won't do the advertiser any good. On the other hand, if the advertiser refuses to get dragged into that kind of talk and goes back to the language in his ad that he does not accept money for sexual acts and any fee will be for his time only, I should think that without more evidence, this would be a much harder case to prove. Not necessarily impossible, depending on the context and other details, but certainly harder.

The only concern I would have about this kind of disclaimer, particularly for those advertisers who are actually sex workers, is that it might lure them into having a false sense of security. They should remember that there is no set of legalish sounding “magic words” that will transform an illegal activity into a legal one. If the State can prove that they are in fact engaging in illegal activity, a disclaimer to the contrary in their advertisement will not protect them.

I think it's useless unless nothing sexual happens or until the hiring community stops complaining they didn't get what they paid for if expectations aren't met.

Non-street based escorting by adult men doesn't seem to be a LEO priority, with exceptions when some other crime is committed, like extortion or murder.

I've always preferred using cash, even when hiring someone who did accept credit card payments. I'd rather not have an electronic record that law enforcement could easily look into under the right (wrong) circumstances.

There are clients who believe that a serious escort, a real professional, will be able to find some way to connect with anyone. It's a noble idea, and hooray for the guys who can rise to it, but let's be real: I think some of those "no chemistry" encounters occur because some escorts have limitations that they don't admit to. Personally, I'd rather know.

That's also why I think it's a good idea for a client to provide an honest physical description if one is requested (maybe even if it's not). If there's something in the description that's going to lead to I'm-just-not-that-into-you erectile dysfunction, better to know before time and money are wasted. There will be some other escort who won't have an issue with a fellow who is chubby, or twelve-toed, or 75, and he's the better option for that guy.

What I don't agree with is the notion that escorting might be "the only occupation that does not get to decide which clients are a good match for them." Believe me, very few people get through a career in any profession dealing only with the clients they want to deal with ... there's a reason why they call it work.
