  2. I'm sure a return of Picard would be popular. I would be more enthused by a return of Kate Mulgrew's Janeway.
  3. I'm curious to know if any other forumites have noticed the change in the price point approach of panhandlers. I remember when it was "can you spare some change?," then it became "can you spare a buck?," in the past few months, and again today, it was "can you spare five dollars?". Today, after giving a dollar, I received a dogmatic air of disapproval and not so much as a perfunctory thank you. Going forward my response is going to be "sorry, I can't afford you."
  4. Usually when they look this young, I say pass. But in this case, I say pass him over here.
  5. Rescue operations have been suspended for the day. I was so hoping they would all be out of there today. With the incoming rain the remaining rescues are going to be ever more perilous. If I were any of those parents, I would be a basket-case.
  6. This running with the bulls is much more my style:
  7. I've heard it for years and perceived it to mean "on the double." One of the Asian bartenders at the Asian-owned Web bar in New York used it all the time.
  8. For some diction is more precise.
  9. Rambidextrous.
  10. Interesting that a statue of Lady Justice with her breast permanently revealed is given a place of honor in the Department of Justice building, and Janet Jackson flashing a boob at a half-time gets shade. Where is the justice?
  11. It'll take a whole lot of Windex to tame that $23 million house.
  12. I didn't get it either. The Urban Dictionary definition brought it home. Now it's funny for me. Thanks.
  13. The driver education teacher at the high school I attended was Mr. Carr. One of the tellers at the bank in the town where I lived was Mrs. Money.
  14. It's impressive, but I'm curious about, when he already has a $21 million mansion, why he would want to purchase a $23 million mansion in the same neighborhood. Perhaps he is thinking in terms of real estate investments.
  15. Oh, yes!
  16. I've resigned myself to no longer expect common courtesy, dignity, or self-respect in the general public arena.
  17. Twenty eighteen
  18. Always. I don't like the variables: weather, delayed/missed transportation, loss of luggage, overcrowding. All that with wondering if/when/where the next gun-laden crazy will launch his/her perception of a cure for society.
  19. Also very nice.
  20. If there is an interest in sustaining the relationship, "discretion is the better part of valor."
  21. I was curious. If this man is the Tom Hopper to whom you are referring, we're on the same page.
  22. I was tempted several times, but every time I pulled up his ad there was more tattooing. He seemed personable several years ago when his (at that time) boyfriend introduced us.
