The migration is complete. Some threads from the 2-3 days before the migration appear to be improperly linked to other threads from a prior conversion Daddy did when he moved from vBulletin to Xenforo. I'm working to see if I can manually fix this, but I'm not sure if it's going to be possible without a BUNCH of effort. (I'm still looking into it however.)

It appears notifications only are occurring for when you’ve replied through Invision. So it will start working for new replies, comments, etc.

While looking through the server logs, I see some errors related to "out of memory" status. With all of the normal traffic AND the backend tasks running, it looks like the mySQL database is running out of memory and restarting itself. When this happens, you'll at first see a connection refused (as the service is down), and within a few seconds it would go away once it comes back up. I've made some changes to memory management to try and hopefully reduce the frequency of this happening.

customizing by interest and ignore settings
RadioRob replied to + José Soplanucas's topic in Feedback
Also... as a point of clarification, it is not possible to ignore Administrator or Moderator groups. All other groups SHOULD be able to be ignored. If this is not working, PM me who you're trying to ignore so I can test if I have to tweak a setting somewhere. -
customizing by interest and ignore settings
RadioRob replied to + José Soplanucas's topic in Feedback
One of the features I like about Invision is the ability to create custom Activity Streams. This allows you to find content that you're specifically interested in. https://www.companyofmen.org/discover/?do=create You can create a stream that shows content you have not read that only lists forums you pick, from various time frames. The Unread Content stream is just literally only selecting "Content I haven't read" as it's filter. So feel free to create a stream or two in order to help you curate content you're interested in. Regarding ignoring members... there is an option to ignore them, but you need to select all of the various ignore features. Make sure you're selecting Posts, Messages, Mentions, and Signature. If you do that, for the most part they should fail to exist to you. Hope that helps! -
Nice photo! It reminds me of how much I need a vacation. (Luckily I'm headed to Ft Lauderdale for my birthday in early June, so not too far away.)

Any of the images on the home page can be easily swapped. If people dislike the default stock images, feel free to suggest one. In order to avoid copyright issues, find one using the “Insert Stock Photo” option under the Other Media button.

There are a bunch of processes still running that are overwhelming the database. This should hopefully be cutting back soon.

I have removed the restrictions around post editing times.
-
Correct. This is automatically detected. There is no need to set this per user in your preferences.
-
That's literally the way of the internet. I've been involved with website development for decades, and I've seen that happen more times than I can count.
-
Given that I have not gotten any feedback on suggested times, I've arbitrarily set the limit to 60 minutes. Any member can edit their content for the first 60 minutes from the time it was first created.

This should be a fully responsive design, so you can increase font sizes through the browser itself. https://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000779.htm

This should be the correct answer.

The folder was moved by mistake when I moved all of the Xenforo files. I restored the archive and it appears to be back online.

I get it. I can technically rename the button in the language file if it really bothers everyone. But it would not actually change what happens on the back end. As far as the public is concerned, the post is “deleted” when hidden. No one actually sees it anymore except for the moderating team. My guess was if someone was harassing others and deleting the posts as a way to avoid moderation, I could see why this setting was the way it is. I was not subject to the explanation on why things were done like this. I simply carried the action over.

If you’re on mobile, it’s inside of the mega menu. Click the button with 3 lines on the top right of the screen. Then choose Mark Site Read. Otherwise there is a link to mark content read to the right of the screen
-
The old site did not have a “delete” function. It simply hid the post. Admins/mods could always see the posts deleted by someone. That logic was applied here as well.

In a community of almost 10,000 people, I would not expect everyone to like the changes. Hopefully as you get a chance to use the site more, you'll find some features you'll like more and that the new software will grow on you over time. I appreciate the feedback. If there is something that would be especially more useful to have back, feel free to share. I obviously can't promise anything, but I'm happy to look into it.

It's set to the default value of 5 minutes. This value is set per member group, so I can change it pretty easily. I'm open to some suggestions on what to change it to.

This SHOULD make it easier to manage going forward. Just literally tap the Quote button whenever you want it to insert that post's text into your message. You can do it anytime in the reply... before you've typed it, as you're typing it, or literally after you're done.

Yes, I need a reason to test upload an image into the gallery. -
When you click the "Quote" button, it will insert it wherever your cursor is at in the reply window. For example, I'm going to quote Luv2play's post AFTER typing these first couple of sentences. I'm now also typing some more text and then going to quote 7829... You can do it opposite of that however... you can type your reply, then just put your cursor where you want the quote to be and simply press the Quote button on the post you want to insert.

Close, but the answer is "C, None of the above." I had to adjust a permission setting. I went though all of the permissions already in the Member Group settings. It's what says Members can do X, but Moderators can do Y. There is another permissions area in the Profile section that covers viewing birthdays. The default value was set to allow anyone to view the date of birth. I changed it to allow members to view their own birthdays and for moderators to view any.
