I used to live in the DC metro area before I moved to south Florida so I know the area well. Made arrangements originally for Sunday evening with him but an hour before so he cancelled asking to reschedule for tomorrow. I accommodated the ask. The next day I met him as agreed. He matched his description and photos but I would not repeat. Was not engaging and the interaction felt more like interacting with a corpse. We did not even meet for the full hour (was back in the car after dressing and paying him after 45 min). Despite that, he tried to charge me 150 more than we agreed to.

For me, it has been the advent of AI. Being able to look at large volumes of data in different ways has been very helpful. In addition using it to challenge ideas/assumptions has been useful. AI while it can hallucinate has been a helpful tool to make me consider things I might not have otherwise considered. It has become a tool that I can use to ideate and to explore topics.

I happened to be back in DC for work and saw him while he was here. Had a great time. Very friendly and accommodating. We chatted via WhatsApp and worked out for him to stop by. Would see him again.

When you disable the VPN, what happens? Your phone is likely using a different Norton VPN endpoint. You should be able to have your VPN select a different IP address. If it works when you disable the VPN, my guess is the desktop is using an address that other Norton users did bad things on and you're taking the hit for it. Rotating the IP address should fix it.

Are you using some sort of VPN or proxy? Does this happen when you use a different browser? Different device? Have you tired clearing your cookies?

OK. Enough. Back on topic. Any topics not directly related to the provider directly will be removed and timeouts issued. This will be the only warning. If you're not sure if the response is appropriate, it most likely is not and should be avoided.

Not true. I know the owner personally and know he is more interested in selling his two bars to move to Colombia full time. He’s not looking to make major changes at this time other than a potential exit strategy if it makes sense.

Saw him in FLL a little over a year ago. Really sweet guy and I enjoyed my time with him.

I know he’s reading this thread. He’s about to get himself put in ANOTHER pinned thread that will get ranked on Google.

Hacked and Compromised Email Account: What Should I Do?
RadioRob replied to + Axiom2001's topic in Tech Talk
Ultimately the question becomes how is the attacker gaining access to the account in the first place. If you change email addresses for example and your phone is compromised… the attacker will simply follow the chain and access the new account. For that email account, what are the various ways you access it? Are each of those ways secure? (No malware on your computer/phone etc) Do you have a way to enable more secure ways of accessing email such as two factor authentication or client certificates? That way even if they have your password they would need access to a trusted device to access the account. -
What’s even scarier is the stuff that is not being talked about yet. I’m leaving an AI security conference in Vegas tomorrow and some of the things I’ve learned this week makes Mythos look basic/elementary.

I do the same.

It's what is known as a Progressive Web App (PWA). It's designed to allow for an "app like" experience without actually needing to install an app from an app store. https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/9658361?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop https://developer.chrome.com/blog/how_chrome_helps_users_install_the_apps_they_value It's not really great for desktop experiences, but can be more helpful for mobile. It allows you to put the site directly on your mobile like a normal app, etc.

He at one point used to dance at LeBoy. I’ve not hired him, but pictures are real and accurately represent his looks.

It’s Bad Bunny weekend so let’s take a timeout for some pizza.

I rebooted the server that instance runs on. It requires an old operating system, so it chokes up every so often and needs a kick to get going again.

It’s been that way since we switched to using the Invision platform (or at least SHOULD have been). The former software the site used (XenForo) simply deleted the account without attributing prior ownership.

He happened to be traveling to Wilton Manors in the last year. I saw him in one of the bars hanging out, but did not have an engagement with him. He looks like his photos while standing across the room.

Saw him in FLL. Pics are real. A super sweet guy. Would definitely see him again.

Yes, individuals are free to request that their account be deleted. They can do so from: https://www.companyofmen.org/settings/account-security/ It will verify the user's password and they'll be able to request their account be deleted. That puts the request in a queue for me to review. When I accept it, the account is deleted. However as per our Terms of Service, posts made by users are not deleted. In a forum setting, deleting the posts can result in topics no longer making sense. So rather than deleting the posts, they're attributed to Guest_OLDNAME.

Technically ANY image/video posted that was not personally created by the person is copyrighted. That would also include screenshots of ads etc. Now with that said, there is a legal process where if someone makes a claim to said content, it can be removed. That is defined through the DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) process. As long as the service provider (us) follows that process, we are protected from liability by its Safe Harbor rules. We make it simple to submit a DMCA request by including a form in the site footer that gathers all of the things required to submit a proper/formal request without guessing or only submitting partial information needed to process the request.
