  1. This is a good question... here's an example I hope will help explain a little bit more: When you would just searched "Pedro Rios", this results in no results ever been returned. Nowhere in this post is the word "Pedro" or "Rios". So the search does not display the result. However if you look through most of the threads in the Deli, if we're talking about a provider... there is almost always somewhere in the thread a link to their RM page. So if you instead search for "Pedro_rios", it WOULD detect the result even if it was just a PART of the overall URL. You can't count on the exact URL matching because some people might have used rent.men/PEDRO_RIOS and others might have used rentmen.eu/PERDO_RIOS, or one of the other variations of the main site address. The RM username is the item that is most likely to be in most threads talking about a provider given not all posts mention the full name or take into account underscores, dashes, or other symbols that might be part of their names.
  2. Correct. You don't want the FULL URL. In addition, for the best results, type in the name exactly as the username is in terms of spaces, underscores, etc. "William Ericson" is not the same as "WilliamEricson" (notice the space is not included in the second one.) The actual RM username is the unique part of the URL. So that’s what we want to search for as your search phrase since (hopefully) someone has a link to the profile somewhere in the thread. We don’t want to bother figuring out rent.men vs rentmen.eu vs all the other variations so just the username would be your best bet at an index key.
  3. I wish. Unfortunately he's no longer around. I thought about texting the phone number we last used to message each other over to see if he was still open to meeting with his ad down, but decided against it. Very sad, but that that just means I'll have to keep experimenting with new folks to make up for the lost experience.
  4. Don't paste the whole URL. Just paste the username. So in this case, only search for "WilliamEricson". https://www.companyofmen.org/search/?q=WilliamEricson&quick=1 This is important because there can be instances of replies about that provider can be missed if they're not using "rent.men" as the address. Some members use rentmen.eu for example. Since their site has so many different URLs, it's better to only search the username instead of the full address.
  5. You want option 1. Just click on "Member Search". Type in their name and that's literally all you gotta do.
  6. Do you mean like: You can add other search conditions such as posts within XX days... if you want to require ALL keywords be present or if ANY can be present, etc.
  7. You have two options for searching member's names (without doing it from their profile page). Option 1 Go to the Search page. Type in the Member's name. Click on Member Search (found just below the search box) Submit the search. Option 2 (if you're looking for something a specific person said) Go to the Search page. Type what you want to find that the member said in the search box. Click on "Search by Author". Type in the name of the member that said what you're looking for. Submit the search.
  8. I'm confused... are you meaning you're searching for a provider's RM handle in the search box and not getting results? I just pulled a sample of random profiles and took their name and searched for it. https://www.companyofmen.org/search/?&q=DarioSpaniardDC&search_and_or=or&sortby=relevancy https://www.companyofmen.org/search/?&q=Boymadrid&search_and_or=or&sortby=relevancy https://www.companyofmen.org/search/?&q=Hunter_Bronson&search_and_or=or&sortby=relevancy In each case, I received search results and received them quickly. Can you give me a step by step of what you're doing so that I can replicate it? If there is a specific search phrase you think should have results that do not, let me know what you're exactly searching for. If people are having trouble searching, I want to try to get to the bottom of it.
  9. Actually this most likely deserves it's own topic, so I went ahead and split this into a new thread. I've manually created an applause reaction based on: I'm not wanting to have dozens of different reactions, but if there are a few others that people would like to have added, provide feedback here.
  10. Seems to be working for me... for example, I just searched for "Bradley". https://www.companyofmen.org/search/?q=Bradley&quick=1 Results appeared very quickly for me. What exactly are you looking for?
  11. One thing I've noticed... when choosing how you want to be notified, you have to have your settings JUST RIGHT. Meaning... if notifications on followed content is not working for you, you're most likely missing a setting. Here's how you want this to look if you want to receive notifications of new replies to threads you reply in or start: The critical piece here is having the "A notification when new content is posted" radiobox selected. The DEFAULT value is "do not send me notifications", so even if you check the options to automatically follow content, unless you also choose to have a notification sent, nothing will happen. You're following content, but not going to have an action actually trigger. This is super easy to miss, and to be honest... it was a mistake I made myself! I spent a few days looking at database calls asking myself why this was not working until I finally went back from the start looking through the user settings again.
  12. Gay...straight... don't matter to me. As long as I'm happy and get mine, orientation is just a status. I was with a "straight" escort before that could curl my toes as we kissed. As long as he's an "A-class" actor, he can identify whatever way he wanted. 🙂
  13. Not borked at all. They’re not configured. What you’re seeing now are the default/stock reactions included with IPB. It’s something I’m going to have to manually dig up emojis for and add into the system when I have a chance. It’s on the list of things to do but that’s also while squaring away all of the other reported fires/issues.
  14. I'm headed down to FLL from June 5-14th. I'm absolutely ready for a break!
  15. Should I setup a new 4m website? (sorry the pun was too easy…)
  16. In looking at the logs, I don't see a high number of database restarts happening anymore. So it looks like things have gotten better, but just checking to confirm.
  17. Gotta love fickle browsers!! I’m glad you were able to get it squared away!
  18. That would explain it. The open source editor Invision uses tries to prevent wrapping because it takes even more real estate away from replying and from the stuff users are reading. Making the window bigger would indeed make more options appear.
  19. It would depend on when the followers were added. I’m working on a bug where some recent posts did not show up properly also.
  20. Can you post a screenshot of what your reply window looks like?
  21. Are you browsing from your phone or from a laptop/desktop?
  22. I don’t believe Followers came over unfortunately. I did not even think to test it in the initial beta site honestly. But in checking mine, it looks like it did not carry over.
  23. I can most likely figure out a way to take away the ability to use big/small fonts, but ultimately if someone is abusing the capability… the moderating team can and will take action. Initially it will be a gentle nudge in the right direction, growing to formal warnings which if/when enough warning points accrue results in posts being automatically queued for moderator approval and finally in temporary suspension.
  24. 90 percent of accounts marked banned were spam registrations. In Xenforo, the only action to take with those accounts were to ban them. With IPB, there is a special spam status so it’s less relevant today. We occasionally have people ask to disable their accounts. In order to prevent a loss of post history, today moderators will ban those accounts and set an internal note about why so if they ever come back we can just remove the ban. (That has actually happened before too…) Finally there have also been a few select individuals who have had their accounts banned for violating our community rules over the years. You can most likely guess who some of those accounts are and the reasons why so I won’t rehash the history here. Regarding the RIP status, I don’t ever anticipate ever seeing those accounts actually signed in. In fact, RIP status in terms of permissions is essentially the same as banned. (They can’t see/do anything.) I just wanted to honor the legacy of those individuals by not being lumped into the same status as spammers, rule breakers, or those who have left the site. I can set the RIP group to be excluded from the group filters, but in the end I left it more as a safety check. If I see those accounts online, even if they can’t see/do anything, I know the account is most likely compromised.
  25. Several people have reached out asking where they can send physical mail. If you want to send cash, gift cards, checks, money orders, etc... you may send it to: RadioRob Enterprises 5834 C. North Kings Hwy #4343 Alexandria, VA 22303
