  1. Many years ago I had a very cute friend who occasionally hired guys, many of whom would refuse to accept money from him after the fact because they wanted to be a sexy buddy, not someone who only had sex with him when he felt like hiring him. I know that isn't the same as the escorts hiring him, but it's a pretty clear indication that they wanted to have sex with him.
  2. Has he been to visit you for an extended trip, for at least a month? I don't know if that would cause a problem for him, giving up his job or taking a leave, but it would give you a better idea of what it would be like to live with him in your place for a bit longer of a period of time. I also suggest flipping the script in your mind, if you can, to see how the offer would appear to you if the tables were turned. Do you think you would perceive it as a great opportunity from a generous person who has your best interest at heart, or would you be hesitant because (a) you would be disrupting your life by moving somewhere you only know one person; (b) you would be financially dependent on the person who is "importing" you to his country; and (c) you don't really know what's going on in the other guy's mind/heart in terms of what's behind the generous offer. I think that if someone is truly miserable where they are, maybe any risks like that are worth taking. If he doesn't feel like his situation in life is that bad, however, it's actually quite a risk to give up everything under circumstances like this.
  3. Not sure about all of the other services, but I think a lot of them allow the recipient to just pick up cash at a place near them (assuming the service is available in their area). My recipient just had to show his ID and the confirmation number at a Walmart near him and was able to pick up cash there.
  4. I sent money to someone in Mexico a few times last year. I used Xoom, mostly because it's part of PayPal so it was easier for me to transfer funds since I already had an account set up. I also looked into using Ria and xe.com; not even sure if I was aware of Remitly. I wasn't sending a huge amount of money so I wasn't too concerned about fees or exchange rates (plus I was just sending a gift of a certain U.S. dollar amount, so the fees just impacted how many pesos the recipient got), though I did look at that information and my memory is that there wasn't a huge difference. Looking right now, though, Remitly is offering a higher exchange rate for Mexico as a promotion for new customers, so if I were making another transfer today I'd probably choose them.
  5. Reminds me of a sociology professor I had who basically said that employers pay employees to set themselves (particularly their emotional selves) aside. His point was that workers are not just paid to accomplish a task but also to do so without letting themselves get in the way of work. My favorite escorts have been men who are a good mix of being genuine and providing fantasy. If someone is too detached, it's very difficult for me to have fun. I have no delusions that these guys would have chosen to get in bed with me if they weren't working, but a good escort is someone who can create pleasure in the moment with clients and not convey, even subtly, that the only reason they are there is money.
  6. Unless it's a chihuahua saying, "Yo quiero Taco Bell." 😀
  7. Here we go again. I don't think anyone really knows the "average rack rate" since the rates aren't available on Rentmen. I'm guessing there is a wide range, but my hiring is so limited now that I wouldn't hazard to guess an average. I doubt it's as high as $1,000 minimum for two hours, though. I don't begrudge a guy for trying to make as much money as he can. Maybe this guy is trying to capitalize on his twinkish, somewhat androgynous looks while he still has them. Particularly if he ends up making "partying" a regular part of his life he could go from twink to haggard looking fairly quickly -- I've seen that more times than I can remember.
  8. Just to clarify, the government went after other websites. Backpage got shut down, in large part due to allegations (which seemed to be true to me) that they did very little to stop the placement of ads of youth being sex trafficked; I think the trial against its owners is occurring as I write this. Myredbook was also shut down. Craigslist felt the heat and basically eliminated certain categories of ads in order to stay in business.
  9. If an escort wants to eliminate certain clients based on looks, I much prefer it when his ad is clear that he does that. He can either be blunt (specifically excluding certain groups of people) or give a strong hint ("prefer to work on clients who are height/weight proportionate" or something like that). What I don't appreciate is a guy not having any indication in the text of his ad that he is going to screen based on looks who then does so after I've contacted him. As others have written, it might be foolish from a business perspective since it's going to limit the pool of clients, but I don't begrudge someone who gets as much business as he wants while still declining to see certain clients based on looks. But the last thing a client wants after approaching an escort is to be rejected based on looks. If we wanted that we would be on an app looking for free hookups or out at a bar or sex club or something. It's much easier if you simply know in advance not to bother to contact someone since he clearly won't accept your business rather than be annoyed after the fact.
  10. I thought his ads had disappeared since I didn't see him on Rentmen or Rentmasseur (where his name is Krl), but he just changed the location to Portland, Oregon for both. No indication whether he's just visiting there or if he moved.
  11. I think there are men who don't have full-on sex with men who nonetheless market themselves to gay men by showing off their asses and doing little foreplay videos with other men. They know where the money is. They can likely pull in many multiples of $$$ with that online presence versus one that accentuates heterosexuality. A quick Google search indicates that nearly 90% of OnlyFans subscribers are men, so a straight guy who wants to maximize his earnings would do well to cater to men.
  12. Some previous discussion here. Guess he has raised his rate considerably since he used to be "only" $600/hr. https://www.companyofmen.org/topic/119865-thatboyaaron/ If you Google search his name, you'll find a lot of other threads about him here. Obviously his photos catch people's attention. One of the threads indicates the guy is "porn star" Reno Gold. I looked at a couple of photos of him and I think that's right.
  13. More than the already high $1,500/hr rate? Wow.
  14. Sometimes I'm amused by factors that other people find important that don't matter to me at all. I don't want to walk into a house/apartment/hotel room that stinks, but I couldn't care less whether it's 100% tidy or somewhat cluttered or whether it's a 5-star hotel or a basic motel. I'm much more concerned about (a) the looks of the guy, (b) the personality of the guy, and (c) his ability to deliver what he advertised.
  15. I don't know whether his photos are retouched, but if you compare his looks in scenes from several years ago to more recent stuff you'll see that he's changed a lot. He has a lot of tattoos now. I know some like that look, but for me the extensiveness of his tattoos seriously diminished his attractiveness.
  16. My experience with him was several years ago, but since I didn't chime in on the previous thread I will state here that, unlike some of the posters in the previous thread, I had no problem with Vince. He looked like his photos and he delivered the topping I wanted. Was it an amazing experience? No. I hired him only once and only hire a guy a second time if I am truly wowed. But I still recall enough of the session to say that I was satisfied.
  17. That's really horrible, especially since most of his clients are likely not in a position to win a fight with him. Not that I typically advocate physical violence, but I wouldn't shed a tear if I learned he attempted to do that to someone who ended up beating the s*** out of him. He's basically no different than a thug on the street robbing people if what you wrote is true.
  18. His Rentmen photos are not very good in a number of ways, but mostly because he looks angry. I don't understand why so many men don't want to smile in the photos they use in their ads. I think a nice smile is much easier to pull off than that "I'm going to scowl at the camera and make it sexy" because the latter just usually makes the guy look like a jerk.
  19. Yes, I probably shouldn't have used the word "budget" as that implies I'm actively shopping for something. I meant to convey that if I add up how much my current system costs, it's probably around $25,000 (though I spent less on it because I purchased some of it used).
  20. I know some guys find that bodybuilder contest shape attractive, but I'm not among them. I wouldn't want him leaner than in his lean photos. I consider that type of physique exceptionally attractive -- muscular without being too huge, no veins popping, doesn't look like he desperately needs a drink of water.
  21. Well, the entire concept is flawed. How can one man be "the sexiest alive" when there are so many different types who are sexy -- not to mention, of course, that there's no way anyone in this world has seen even the majority of men who are alive at any given time. A lot of the time I look at People's picks for Sexiest Man Alive and don't see it myself. In the case of Paul Rudd, however, all I can say is it's about time they acknowledged his yumminess.
  22. I haven't been out to a gay bar (with the exception of going to a drag brunch at Midnight Sun) since the pandemic started, so I don't have specific recommendations. What I can say is that it's very easy to check out the majority of the city's gay bars by simply walking around a very small area in the Castro (most of the bars are within a few blocks of each other) and a slightly larger area South of Market. Unlike a lot of places where you'd actually have to get in your car or catch a ride if you wanted to check out what else was happening, it's very easy to sample a lot of bars in a very short period of time -- especially if you just want to walk in, see what the vibe is like, and then head to the next one without buying a drink until you find a place you actually want to spend some time in. My pre-pandemic recommendations would have been: Castro: Moby Dick. Usually nice bartenders, some of whom have been there a long time. Nice fish tank to look at if you get bored, but if you go when it's at all busy there will surely be some nice looking men to look at. The Mix. Popular and very mixed clientele. Back patio is usually too smokey for me, though. 440 and The Edge can both be fun, though The Edge went down in ranking for me after the place sold and the new owners made it less sleazy. (Before the sale, it was the only remaining bar in the Castro that had the kind of "edge" that's more common at South of Market bars.) If you want to dance to loud modern music, there's Badlands. That's another tragedy for me -- the old Badlands was a lot of fun and cruisy; after it was reborn as a dance club I stopped going. South of Market. Powerhouse. Different things happening different nights, but always got busy on weekend nights. Some frisky action in the back room, though that was supposedly forbidden. Hole In The Wall. Though I liked it's previous location more and it seemed to become more tame after it moved, I still love this bar. The decor is one of a kind so I think it's worth a visit just to look around. Beyond that, more than any other bar I've been to I would say this is one where the phrase "let your freak flag fly" applies. That sometimes is a bit off-putting for me because I'm only a moderate freak (lol), but I generally enjoy it because it seems quintessentially San Francisco. The Eagle. Probably don't need to write more about this bar since most people know of it. I live just a few minutes away and I think they have reopened, though their status as a going concern has been in doubt off and on for the past couple of years.
  23. I rarely drink any more, but was recently on vacation and ordered Johnnie Walker Black. The bartender (an extremely sexy young man) remarked that not that many customers drink Scotch, which resulted in us having a nice conversation about various liquors. I guess I hadn't really thought about it before, but I think one of the reasons why Scotch and other bourbons/whiskeys are my go-to when it comes to alcohol is that there is a huge range of flavor. Sometimes I like a good single malt neat. Sometimes I want something with a bit more bite and will get something like Johnny Black on ice. Others are great for a mixed drink since they stand up to the mixer, but I wouldn't want to drink them on their own. Once you get above the truly horrible bottom barrel vodkas, they all taste alike to me. I've never developed a like for gin, so I cannot speak to that. Tequila definitely presents some range of flavor, but not nearly as much as whiskey/bourbon.
  24. Nice to know there's at least one other person here who is into sound quality. My budget is significantly lower than yours, but still probably far higher than most people would be willing to spend...maybe around $25,000 for my entire system.
