I wanted to share this really great article I read in Esquire.  Though it is (of course) about women sex workers and their johns... it's important that this kind of insight, nuance, honesty is continued to be amplified so that people see the truth but also the nuance in SW.
Their can certainly be "issues" with sex workers/exploitation etc... but when you remove the religious morality, there is also so much benefit including connection/outlet/fetish/exploration/freedom.  Many healthy people (such as myself) are doing what I've been told more than once is "god's work" without trauma, drug use, desperation or whatever other narratives there are!
Love to hear what others think:

Can I say I LOVE that you have your client page filled out completely??!  Thank you!  Such a good thing to do, not only to show you are serious, but to, you know, give insight and information into you, where, what, etc, etc... as you say, is it going to "work out".... It is so strange the, let's call it, attitude that some people can have in treating/dealing with other humans.  It's like, COME ON!  Information is useful to all involved!!

Not a problem. I use to exclusively use RM messenger but that caused numerous delays. I think few people have moved to the RM Messenger app which at least gives real time notifications. I now tend to use WhatsApp with a link to my RM profile but I wouldn't be bothered by Messenger only.

If the ad states “text only no calls” or something like that then I will look for a number and text them. Otherwise I’ll do the RM message. I prefer the provider to tell me exactly how they want to be contacted.

It’s faster to txt so it’s my preferred option, especially as so many providers take a while to respond.

I prefer starting with RM messenger chat. I have my client page filled out completely with all my stats and what I'm looking to get into so saves me right off the bat from texting all that to a provider. I prefer messenger chat as well then to get a feel for the provider and can easily disengage if it's not going to work out.

I’m with @jackcali here. I begin with RM messenger & I ask the provider to review my profile. If he responds in the affirmative I ask to switch to texting after that. That has worked for me for a number of years. As always, your mileage may vary.

Some guys specify what NOT to do to reach out.
If you choose the phone icon, the pop up used to offer text msg - not sure current status of that. If provider has not enabled, reach out via RM. I have success with the former.

Perfect. Not a problem at all. I think it also changes the expectation. You sometimes feel like if someone doesn't answer a text fairly quickly, you're not that important. But nobody expects an immediate response from an email.
As long as you move serious conversations to text or phone, I think it's ideal.

Thanks.  I meant posted to the profile... I prefer chatting via text too, once initial contact has been made.

I haven’t used RM chat. I’m unlikely to proceed with contacting if there is no phone number posted for texting.

I'm fine with starting with the RM chat.   I have had a few outcalls using only RM chat and it's worked out fine.
But, after a bad experience getting into a provider's building, I will not do an incall without a number to text.

Sorry I misunderstood.  Normally I’d extract it from the “Call Me” link.  From my experience, it’s not common for me to find it in the ad but I’d be fine either way

I know there are differing opinions, but like @jackcali I tend to open any conversation in RM chat and move to other means if that becomes necessary. (Also, asking the question here will have generated traffic to your ad.)

Client here.  I tend to reach out to a potential hire a few days in advance and use the RM chat function to ask any questions about his ad (and ask to see private pics if he has them) and also to point him to my RM profile, which has a decent amount of information about me.  That's easier than transmitting all that info via text.  The issue, though, is that it sometimes takes an escort a few days to respond, by which time the window for hiring has passed.  I'm guessing you won't get many same-day hires if you don't have a phone number.
    Good luck.

I usually prefer texting, simply because most providers respond faster there than through RM messages. That said, it wouldn’t stop me from reaching out to someone who only uses RM, unless I’m trying to set something up within the next 24 to 48 hours.

You have to exchange your Gay 'Top' Card for a Gay 'Bottom' Card (forever). However we aren't totally heartless. On Leap Day every 4 years you get a 24 hour pass to be versatile.
