True story. Several years ago two couples were having Sunday brunch at a fashionable Chicago Rush Street eatery. A large omelet was presented to my companion at the time. As she was approaching the omelet with her fork, a large roach emerged from under the omelet. Totally out of character, she looked at the three of us and said, “I’m going to pretend like that didn’t happen”. She continued to move in with her fork when upon a second cockroach emerged from under the omelette. I was watching this across the table with disbelief but, fork in hand, I impaled the second cockroach in the middle of her plate. My recollection of what followed is less clear but I do recall some mayhem with several screams from our table, additional diners around us, overturned chairs, a completely undone service staff and the four of us (maybe more?) departing the restaurant unfed to look for another restaurant. Haven’t been back.

I have identified 3 that share my preferences and impressions and I do attach some credibility to their comments which I can access with a European VPN.

I think that a real regular is happy to see you whenever you can make it happen. For me, It’s a constantly changing roster. I’m happy when I’m trying to juggle several regulars because I know someone is going to move away, retire, or otherwise become unavailable and then I’m looking for new talent. I prefer dealing with the first problem rather than the second. Soon enough the problem will take care of itself.

This is one of the more interesting threads for me during my short time here. As some have already pointed out, “straight” is a matter of perception, self-description or impression of others. In this context, we’re talking about the client’s projection on someone who’s really not really completely “straight”. I find the range of tastes and reactions to this truly fascinating. As someone who’s been perceived as “straight” for almost all of my life but now having fun pushing boundaries, I think I can perhaps see both sides with more clarity than some. Strong preferences for uber macho men (fill in your own version) or very feminized versions (ditto) will always be appealing to some but most of us fall somewhere in between. I have had great fun letting my little head tell my big head what excites it and it’s been full of surprises. So far, I haven’t fully embraced either of these “extremes” but I I do have trouble understanding why some feel a need to judge someone whose preferences are different from their own.

Agree with all of the above. I recently spent a wonderful afternoon with him. He provides an authentic BFE, charming, genuine, full of energy and really seems to like what he’s doing. Truly versatile in many ways.

All of the above advice is excellent. If you really have “zero money or financial skills “ it will be important to find a good, trustworthy financial advisor to help set this up. His interests should be aligned with your, I..e. ideally. his compensation should be pegged to how your investments perform, not how many products he can sell you. Good ones can be difficult to find.
