Twist to the “free” PPP monies. IRS might not allow regular deductions on payroll/rents funded by PPP funds. This could provide costly. https://www.forbes.com/sites/robertwood/2020/04/30/irs-denies-tax-deductions-for-wages-rent-paid-with-forgivable-ppp-loans/#3b22df591c15 and https://www.foxbusiness.com/personal-finance/coronavirus-loan-recipients-ineligible-tax-deductions And I wouldn’t think you can “reserve” any PPP funds for future taxes, because the PPP funds have to be properly distributed to payroll/rent etc. within 8 weeks of receiving funds, or no forgiveness. Catch 22?
  3. In fairness to Amazon a huge percentage of products you’re seeing online there come from 3rd party vendors...not always direct from Amazon. And thats not always obvious when you click and buy something. Amazon has been pretty good about stamping out price gouging.
  4. This is currently 100% the way I feel. I can’t agree more ??
  5. Is there something holding you back? You’ve received some pretty good advice in this thread on where and how to buy?
  6. From your previous thread ? https://www.companyofmen.org/threads/romancharter.154296/

  10. Hmmmmmmmmm ??‍♂️ Looks interesting. Any satisfied customers here?
  11. No focal length distortions at my law abiding LA County beaches. I’m not fond of orange county enforcement of COVID-19 isolation right now ?

Well in @sniper defense and to his point he clearly stated those earning under $50k, and you clearly state you earn over. I employ entry level workers at minimum wage and above (in SoCal). I’m having trouble recruiting employees because right now for the majority of this pool they are getting paid more on unemployment and stimulus than they would get working. I’m rewarding my current loyal and hard working employees with bonuses based on their hours worked to thank them for their extra effort during this pandemic.
  15. Not an issue for me...often it’s even an attractive preference for me.
  16. Ditto on appreciative neighbors. I had four sourdough boule(s) and two brioche out of the oven Sunday morning. Neighborhood is happy!

Always “underground” side deals. I used to know a guy who vetted young men for a famous Hollywood music producer. On occasion (rare) I would meet these young men first via the friend, to see if they could uphold their end of mutual benefit. Happened all too rare but was fun! Thinking back this was almost 20 years ago!

See #24 in the SBA FAQ here....lots of additional information as well.
  19. I’ve been using ground turkey a lot recently....chili, meat loaf, “Joe’s Special” and it’s been surprisingly good ?? Only poor result was grilled “burgers” on the BBQ
  20. Agree...and these are Union employees at these packing plants for the most part....not undocumented types. The risk is to the employees of course and not our food. Covid 19 hasn’t shown up as food borne. Yet...but it’s a tricky virus!
  21. Meat packing plants will re-open sooner than later. Disinfecting the plants is easy. Unions allowing new (Covid 19 tested!) workers in to work the disinfected production line another story.
  22. Thank goodness for those that appreciate old meat. Note in my post that I was praising older artisan beef being raised to 3 to 4 years old humanely and nourished properly before slaughter and butcher. Some evidence of less methane gases from cows raised this way in addition to taste. today’s USA model of conveyor belt beef sent into feed lots results in 14 to 18 month old steer being put to market. Efficient, quick, not the best quality and not climate friendly.
  23. We fellow carnivores will hunt it out! I use Crowd Cow another online source, they specialize In bringing small ranches into kind of a marketing co-op to sell. All artisan raised beef, not feed lot production line 18 month old beef.
  24. Don’t add to the panic....I went to two stores yesterday and they were fully stocked with meat and poultry. Also thirds store...my local butcher was well stocked.
