  1. Not yet...I’ve been anxious to try.
  2. I add a bit of vital wheat gluten when I make rye bread, and other whole grains breads. They don’t have a lot of natural gluten and the loaves can get (too) dense. Couple tablespoons Gluten for a batch of dough for two substantial boules or loaves. Need to up the water %% gluten sucks up the water.
  3. It’s truly a labor of love. For the artisan craft, for yourself, for those you share it with.
  4. I looked so hard for bread flour I finally split a 50# with my brother from a commercial source. But! King Arthur just sent me an email today that they My favorite back in stock, limited purchases, run! King Arthur Unbleached Bread Flour

  6. It’s so easy to make your own pizza dough, pennies a batch, and no bread machine. BBQ chicken, purple onion, goat cheese. Fresh chopped cilantro tossed on after oven bake.
  7. My local Smart & Final as well. And it’s across the street from my old time local butcher....so as a fellow carnivore I’m set! Butcher store first, then S&F to “fill in”. Their produce leaves a bit to be desired, but I’ve been an Imperfect Produce customer for a while and they take care of that need.
  8. Yesssss! I make rhubarb pie for my Mom (and me!)
  9. I love rhubarb!
  10. And with the under the table and poor planning....Those can’t get unemployment or stimulus checks.
  11. My kitchen issue has been handled by a squirt bottle of Clorox 50/50 with water, and paper towels or dish towels. Both bleach and paper towels had been in short supply, but for me those are freeing up locally.
  12. I’m almost thinking of starting a new thread just to discuss what we will consider safe, soon. Practical suggestions. A “how to” to mimize risk. There will NEVER be zero risk. With many parts of the country opening up I’ve had two providers ask me “meet after May 15th?”. But obviously meeting a provider is not a trip to a retail store or even the gym. 6 feet distancing isn’t an option. What steps would you take to facilitate a meetup? One provider anxious to get back “to it” is suggesting: He showers on arrival No kissing Masks Oral? A maybe Anal doggie style with masks (he bottoms) I immediately shower Please note I’m not advocating any of this, just discussing. I don’t worry so much about getting sick myself, that’s my risk. But I’m close to people I just can’t afford to bring virus home to. Main reason why I won’t jump soon....but when?
  13. No. Couldn’t do it in my business. Price increases depress transaction counts.
  14. I just got back from a visit to my local SoCal Vons (Safeway) right now. Was a very pleasant pandemic shopping experience, one-way aisles (mostly ignored) decent crowds, most importantly an entirely full meat section with beef, pork, lamb, and poultry. Loads of produce. There was an assistant manager at the head of the checkout line, sending socially distanced shoppers and their carts to checkout stand numbers one by one, very organized.

    CUM !

    Amen brother!
  16. Ain’t that the truth! Kitchen wipes and sanitary wipes the sole product I have not been able to eventually track down during pandemic shopping.
  17. But gloves and hand sanitizer carried in the car at all times minimize risks like pin pads...? And wear a mask of course.
  18. Lots of info in this thread on international travel and also Cruises https://www.companyofmen.org/threads/foreign-travel-this-year.157052/
  19. My cartoon was of course humor...my cat is ecstatic we’re around all day!

  23. A car going about 25 mph will take approximately 55 feet to stop, not counting the driver’s reaction time to hit the brakes.

    pay cut...

Maybe ??‍♂️ But I saw a lot of this, specifically stating bank’s dollar assets: https://www.bankingdive.com/news/sba-small-lenders-window-paycheck-protection-program-coronavirus/577105/

    pay cut...

My CPA is going with this probability. But who knows? In retrospect I think it’s fair, and struggling businesses “in need” getting PPP loans are liable to have all kinds of expense deductions whether they want them or not! On the other hand, look at this legislative “Hail Mary” from CPA group: https://www.journalofaccountancy.com/news/2020/may/expenses-reimbursed-by-ppp-not-tax-deductible-paycheck-protection-program.html
