  1. http://bedfordandbowery.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/baths.png And this is what the 80s will always mean to me!!!!
  2. Similar situation here - there was an RM provider that was of interest to me (Blackretreat), so I checked out his profile and it said only to contact him the day one is ready to hire. So I did not contact him that first day (I was not looking for an immediate hire) and when the next day I was ready to hire him, I tried to contact him only to find out that I had been blocked. His loss, my gain.
  3. if you are considering a trip, please let me know in advance... i can try to offer up some advice.
  4. oops, yes..... you caught me in a typo for which i apologize (and will edit to fix).... and Thailand is not for everyone.... for those of us who love it, we are quite fanatical about it - but life there presents many challenges to the expat, some of which may be compensated for by the low price, the high quality of life, the amazing food, and so on. again apologies for the typo - that is a total "F" in my gradebook, hehe
  5. just a simple allusion to the fact that guys in Southeast Asia come in many varieties: muscle guys, twinks, light skinned, darker skinned, preppy, construction guys, and so on and so on.....
  6. I totally "get" that... but let me just add that now all Southeast Asian persons (men) are "NOT created equally" (if you know what I mean!)
  7. Totally agree - I tend to err on the side of "urban" (and in the case of Bangkok urban-on-steroids) but there are many alternative places in the nation which might appeal to those who different preferences: Chiang Mai is very popular, and there are also some smaller more out-of-the-way places (but language might be an issue - I speak Thai, but in many places one will find very little English comprehension....)
  8. I have a place in Bangkok and could not more enthusiastically recommend it!!!!
  9. one pair per season. when one wears out i replace it with an identical version and then just go on. outfitted with a pair of penny loafers, top siders, and ll bean boots at birth and never saw the need to switch it up since then!
  10. born jewish, but raised Unitarian-Universalist, so my Christmas motif is very much Question Mark-centric....
  11. Resurrecting this thread to see if anyone would like to share info on this very hot man!
  12. we all know that fat people do face shaming within our community - even amongst those of us who consider ourselves "woke" -- and i honestly include myself as one of the guilty parties here. the question is why and how.... i recoil in horror when i encounter those "no fats no femmes" postings on hook-up sites and it bothers me as much when i get into a club with a "selective" door policy - because i can only begin to imagine how horrible it must feel for someone to have to worry about the abuse they will encounter. but what is the source of this discrimination? is it simply a matter of "taste", "preference", and so on? i get all militant on people who use that excuse when they do their "no blacks no asians" stuff... but i can make excuses for people on the overweight issue. dunno why.... or maybe i do and i refuse to face it.
  13. not getting into that territory here on this thread
  14. totally paying attention... just introducing the notion that in some eyes the WORST are in others' eyes the BEST!
  15. Through my associations with some organizations during the 1970s, I knew well some people who actually made it onto the Federal "Ten Most Wanted"... some of the best criminals I have ever known !
  16. @MikeCruiseNYC wow!!!! And I am still working on my outstanding review of your outstanding skills
  17. just a point of information.... i did my graduate field work in thailand and its population, like many nations, is mixed.... there are chinese-thai, lao-thai, malay-thai, and so on.... people from the northeast (Isan) province tend to be more dark skinned but cenbtral thai people much lighter in skin tone. the implications of that in the hierarchies of thai society is a topic for a whole other discourse, hehe
  18. masseurfinder seems to be down (that is where i contacted him...) also i guess he is on: https://rentmasseur.com/SootheOperator
  19. i am happy to do that ... but am not sure if i am allowed to..... can someone advise me please????
  20. i know that this has been discussed in other threads, but it seems particularly relevant here. this past week, i booked time with an extremely well-reviewed masseur... he offered a 60 and 90 minute session, with the latter being promoted as a sensual experience. i went with the 90 minutes. at the end of the session as a sensual "overtone" began to manifest, he asked for an additional $60 for a "happy ending" (his words....) goes without saying i will never call him again!
  21. there is a historical issue here pregnant with complications.... the 1947 partition of South Asia into East and West Pakistan and India was one of the more traumatic experiences in recent history. my understanding is that the memory still persists (as well as linguistic and religious differences).
  22. that's a good approach... because i am an "asianist" by training (S.E. Asia was my area of concentration as an anthropology student), I am hyper-sensitive to the very profound differences amongst Asian persons... but I think you provide a good general way to deal with it... not many westerners could tell the difference between a Lao person, a Thai person, and a Cambodian person, even if one were to hear the spoken language(s). we just need to be very sensitive to the "Orientalist" approach that lumped everyone from Asia together as either just a culture-less or an exoticized other.
  23. Just watched Season 1, Episode 1.... and I am already hooked.... go figure....! (Never underestimate the opinions of our tenth graders, right????)
