i resisted posting to this thread for a long time, because i feel as though it is a wheel that keeps getting re-invented many too many times. so i will keep it brief. first off, throwing around the phrase "PC" to demean people who work for social justice is a whole issue in and of itself, but ... if by "too PC" you mean the foregrounding of equality, of taking into consideration the rights of those who are historically marginalized, the taking into consideration the everyday plight(s) of people who are undervalued and oppressed.... of being champions for peace, equality, and justice.... then i would say it is impossible to ever be "too PC"

i use whatsapp like... constantly.... especially with my friends in se asia.... it does identify you by a phone number (it more or less serves as your initial "nickname") but it is amazingly user-friendly, widely accepted and FREE

Those pics are mostly NOT his and the cover pic is from 2006 and look nothing like the person who you will encounter. He is definitely NOT 155 lbs (if you get my drift) and has somehow only managed to age 2 years (from 27 to 29) since I met him 15 years ago. Additionally, he has a rather scornful view of his clients. If all of these things are cool with you, he will give a rather mechanical encounter ... offering a 30 minute session speaks to his seriousness of purpose I would say.

Something a bit similar once happened to me here, which is how I learned about the "last comment" policy... I left a justifiably bad review for an escort and the escort replied blaming me for the situation and then totally making up a story about how he offered to give me my money back (never happened). I learned that I could not call him to task on his version. While I may not agree with the board's policy, it is one I have learned that I must live with. And do.

Sounds like a bad situation to start with that went further south quickly... I don't get the scene at the front desk, but I think I might have bailed more quickly than the reviewer (and I believe frequent forum participant) did. Being slurred by an escort on a public forum is not a nice feeling. When is the time to cut one's losses????

although i have an apartment in bangkok and not 100% current on the hotel scene, it is my understanding that the tarntawan hotel has changed ownership and the quality of the customer experience there has significantly changed, perhaps not for the better. just anecdotal evidence here, mind you....

absolutely yes.... difficult as it is to make, it is an indispensable part of some terrines, patés, and so on... when i was in culinary school (recurring identity crisis #4) we spent almost a week on it!

that "classic" french menu is of interest - but to me only as an example of how we constructed french food "back in the day" my culinary coming of age coincided with the emergence of a newer french cooking which stressed lighter sauces, fresher flavors, simpler preparations in which the excellence of the ingredients was allowed to take center-stage.... think the brothers troisgros.... joel robuchon.... and in america, of course, alice waters.
