  1. There’s another term for that. Felching.
  2. Not a problem if they have a boatload of money.
  3. I was in Toronto this spring and stayed at the Town Suites on Church as usual. I didn’t hear of the plans to close off Church to vehicular traffic for the summer. What an excellent idea, long overdue in my opinion. Look forward to to seeing it. I hope Sambucas has a terrace. It’s my favourite restaurant on Church.
  4. I read today that Merck has received approval from the FDA to start selling a new pill that will lower LDL, the bad cholesterol, dramatically. It will offer an bc alternative to patients now taking statins. As for myself, I have done well on statins but not everyone does, including bothersome side effects. Nice to know there is an alternative if that were to change.
  5. Is that true? I studied architecture at university and St. Peter’s is an example of various architects working on it over the centuries. There are other cathedrals like that as well including here in Canada where the church started as a gothic revival and then transformed into a renaissance style in the upper levels as tastes changed. The Sagrada Família today reflects Gaudi’s original vision, no?
  6. It’s the only great ecclesiastical architecture of the 20th century. Something to celebrate. PS. I had to refresh my memory of the church’s history. It actually dates from the latter part of the 19th century and was inspired by gothic principles. But Gaudi’s design adopted art nouveau features which now dominate the overall architecture. He also designed an apartment building in Barcelona which embodied the same design features.
  7. If you are in his will. Otherwise not so much.
  8. That smoke made its way to Montreal and New York City yesterday and other cities in the northeast US. It hit my town as well and persisted until 5pm when it cleared away. It would have been a beautiful day as there were no natural clouds, just smoke.
  9. How many calories are there in all these latest offerings and how much salt? In general I avoid all fast food for the high levels of these health killing factors.
  10. At 79 my winter so far has been cosy fires and steamy sex.
  11. Good point. I keep putting it off but I definitely need to move that up on my job list.
  12. And the French lost to Spain today in the FIFA tournament. Quelle horreur!
  13. How about the storming of the Bastille. On July 14th 1789 which set off the French Revolution.
  14. It’s a clinic where the doctors band nurses work as a team.
  15. I used to play with my cat this way. She was very indulgent and I could toss her whichever way as she trusted me completely, like the cat in this video.
  16. I saw my doctor today for my semi annual checkup and he said on paper I looked good. Based on my blood tests. !!! I told him I felt less than perfect given my advancing age , 79, but I told his nurse I was still having sex on a regular basis. I have an appointment to see him next January so that’s good. Just need to keep on truckin.
  17. I do a lot of historical research and this involves looking at old census records. One of note I came across was the record of a man taken in 1861. His age was given as 106 and the census taker wrote “wow” in the margin beside the man’s name. One of that man’s descendants was a second cousin of mine who lived to 98, dying after a fall in 2020. So the idea longevity is related to genes has some traction.
  18. Yes I realized that but what is the cause for transient global amnesia? Can it reoccur and possibly get worse? The retrograde type doesn’t recur.
  19. Of course, three score and ten or seventy was the biblical life span of 2000 years ago. But in western countries in the 19th and twentieth centuries many people lived well beyond that even if the average life span was shorter than today. I remember visiting a German graveyard in Berlin and being astounded at the number of gravestones with ages recorded in the 80’s and 90’s in the 19th century. Then the 20th century arrived and many died between 1914 and 1918 at a young age.
  20. I think the Internet and cellphones have changed everything.
  21. It was 7 years ago and one of my first weekends hire. The novelty was great but I would not repeat that experience. I had never met him although we did extensive messaging before hand. He was pretty much what I expected and his photos were accurate and his stats also. The sex was just OK. Nothing to rock my world.
  22. I would just ask you how often have you been close to people who have drug habits?
  23. San Francisco to Montreal for a weekend visit.
  24. I take issue with this assessment of RM as a user experience. In my experience which covers over a decade of using their service as a premium client, I have found their services to be the best in the field. I mostly hire in Canada but have also used it in the US. I have hired over 50 providers, so many I forget, and most have lived up to their promises. And all this for under $10 per month. I don’t know what I would do without them. Certainly not rely on Leoslist.
  25. Why did he change his handle?
