  1. I may be a troglodyte but I’ve moved on from Google to AI.
  2. As per your last paragraph at least he has a choice. He could go back to his country of origin and access his millions. Not many in that position.
  3. I know escorts who have told me they no longer will go to the US from Canada.
  4. If the Post is writing this, I assume Mamdani is onto something.
  5. Sorry to be so obtuse but who is Ryan Murphy?
  6. He was born in Germany to immigrants. He couldn’t be stripped of his citizenship. And his mother arrived in Germany 2 or more years earlier, I forget which exact number. He was evidently radicalized growing up in Germany. I suppose the authorities will look into what influenced him or who. More will come out eventually and we should wait to see what is uncovered. The scary thing about these cases is that it is hard to predict who will act on their hatred by striking out at targets such as gay people or people of other ethnicities, the “other”.
  7. To my mind, handsome and leading Hollywood star are not necessarily the same thing. Ever since Hollywood started churning out films their leading men have not always been good looking by any standard. But some have been stunners. As for classically handsome, The Greek and Roman statues provide many examples of handsome men but not all obviously are so.
  8. I notice the bathroom only has a sink and a toilet. Not even a shower. Sponge baths I suppose.
  9. Well now I am closer to 180 pounds. Trying to slim down.
  10. Your problem is focusing on individual words and losing sight of your sentences and paragraphs. They are hardly the model of lucidity or clarity. You should try taking a writing course.
  11. Nice. Why didn’t you say that in the first place.
  12. What exactly are you driving at with your mumbo jumbo?
  13. Latest reports are that the suspected source of the illness may have been a false positive. There seems to be confusion at the FDA. This pathogen was dropped from surveillance in budget cuts last year. Are here we are.
  14. Let me guess. 7K.
  15. I am an avid reader of the Saturday obituaries in the Globe&Mail newspaper and often see references to MAID as being the cause of death, although it’s usually not explicitly stated as such. Phrases like “the time and place of their choosing “ or “they left on their own terms” are used. These instances are becoming more prevalent as resort to MAID is increasingly being chosen. Often the people have had very accomplished careers or lives and choose to go out on a positive note before the suffering becomes unbearable. If I were in that situation I know I would do it. I saw what my mother went through 40 years ago and would not want that for myself.
  16. I just checked into it and Sue Rodriguez did not leave the country but found a doctor who anonymously helped her to die in Canada. Her case, which went to the Supreme Court where she lost, was a tipping point in the debate.
  17. I have always objected to the phrase “assisted suicide”. Here in Canada we call it “medical assistance in dying” or MAID for short. It removes the stigma associated with suicide. Thankfully we have moved beyond the legal impediments that exist in other jurisdictions with being able to end one’s life when there is no hope of recovery and living is an unbearable burden. The person in Canada who brought this about was Sue Rodriguez who fought for ending her life on her terms but had to leave the country in order to do so. The law changed shortly after her death.
  18. When I was there years ago there was an inn called Harlow Haven. Jean Harlow apparently went to Palm Springs as an escape from Hollywood. Her short life was tragic so resurrecting her memory was bittersweet.
  19. That recalls the expression “when I’m not near the one I love, I love the one I’m near”.
  20. As I recall Jackie Robinson started his baseball career in Montreal playing for the Royals. That’s just off the top of my head. He then went to NewYork where he gained fame. But Montreal gave him a start as a Black player who couldn’t get a job in the States at first.
  21. Given it’s only a one year pilot project lasting a couple of months, it’s apparent the local merchants haven’t invested a lot in creating outdoor spaces for clients. They look pretty makeshift. The ones in the well established Montreal Village are very nice and creative using quality materials such as wooden decks and weather protected spaces. But if it catches on Toronto could do likewise.
  22. Reports tonight they have located the source of the Taco Bell lettuce causing the diarrhea. Mexican iceberg lettuce which is shredded and added to the tacos. Only one exporter involved.
  23. It’s cleared up where I live in eastern Ontario but may return. The last two days have been wonderful.
  24. I think the last McDonald's hamburger I ate was in Paris in 1985. It was out of curiosity as the restaurant had just established on the Champs Elysee. It was nothing special and in fact easily the worst meal I ever ate in Paris in my life.
