  1. Obviously, the needle in the haystack.😃
  2. Australians were lots of white in their summer, which is our winter. I always associate Aussi men with summer sports like tennis and they look great in their whites.
  3. I can't see that happening. If they did there would be back to work legislation pronto. The border is too important to the economy to have it close to trucking.
  4. Looking back at your original post, it is not clear whether he has been on antiretroviral treatment since he contracted HIV 10 years ago. If so and he was faithfully taking his meds, he would be undetectable if the treatment worked. And you been seeing him over that period on a regular basis. Do you think you have had the infection a long time? When was the last time you had the bloodwork testing for HIV? I think you will want to consider these points and further discussing the matter with him if he is amenable to talking. I agree with you that the legal route helps neither of you two. But by talking to him, you might want to urge him to protect others as if he infects another person, they may take legal action. And things could get really messy for him if others come forward to also accuse him.
  5. I can drive there since I live in Ontario. In fact I've already booked a room and escort for the occasion of the opening weekend. I'll let you know how the new hotel looks in reality. The pictures are pretty but they're still doing the work so I imagine it's a mess at this time. I'll be the first to mess it up again with my guy. LOL
  6. This is wonderful news. I stayed at the former Le Gouverneur many times and even had a loyalty card that would have entitled me to a free overnight when they suddenly closed. Lol Then it became Hotel Dupuis for a short time until the pandemic closed it again. I hadn’t hear that it was used for the homeless during this period, but frankly, even during the last days as Le Gouverneur, it was showing it’s age. The Hyatt has obviously renovated the place and it has good bones. The views are spectacular from the upper floors looking on the west side. You see the entire downtown and Mount Royal laid at your feet with no obstructions from nearby buildings, which are all much shorter. That side also fronts on a park. The location can’t be beat as it is not only close to the Gay Village but also the old port, where there are some good restaurants, and a ten minute taxi ride to downtown where there is a great nightlife vibe, if the Village doesn’t inspire. I will be booking my first stay there in the fall when it opens.
  7. On the bright side, maybe the party will move to you. If places like Florida and the southwest and even northwest become problematic, there will be mass migrations to more sustainable locales.
  8. Sorry that you have to deal with this because an escort was not upfront with you about his HIV status. It goes both ways of course and clients should always be honest about their health status before engaging an escort.in any kind of sexual activity. Condoms can break. That being said, you should make it top priority to get on an effective treatment and get tested regularly and often to determine if it is working and you become undetectable. Once you achieve the status over a period of time, you can become more confident that you will not transmit the virus to others through sexual contact. If you see escorts after that point, ask about their status and if neg, are they on PrEP. If pos, are they undetectable. Only deal with reputable escorts who are honest. Being open yourself will encourage them to be open as well. Good luck.
  9. If you're thinking of living in Palm Springs in the next 20 years, have you considered besides the expense, whether it will be inhabitable due to climate change? Just today it was reported over 120 people died in Portland, Oregon in the recent heat wave. I know PS is equipped for the brutal heat in the summers but how much brutal heat and for how many months before people will have to throw in the towel.
  10. There's another thing to consider from the university's perspective. Since donations are charitable gifts eligible for a tax receipt, the school probably has to, like charitable trusts, disburse an amount each year from the fund. They probably can't just hang onto it until someone comes along in a later year. Not an expert here, but if to the parallel holds, they need to have the flexibility to disburse the funds in the future in accordance with changed circumstances.
  11. I think this is sage advice. I weighed in with my opinions but also said consult a qualified lawyer. Not just any lawyer. Like in medicine, many lawyers specialize. But for a testamentary or charitable donation, speak to someone familiar with that area of law.
  12. Just to note that his latest review on RM indicated he bottomed even though his ad says top (no versatile indicated). Sounds persuadable.
  13. I think the university's response is reasonable in most cases relating to subjects they teach. Not sure it covers students you are targeting with your donation.
  14. Broadly speaking it's true that the border closing is more harmful to the Canadian economy but since this extension of the closure by the US affects primarily the tourist sector and families being able to access their properties across the international border, there will be an inequity created. US businesses that profit from Canadian tourists in border states will continue to suffer. Canadians who own recreational properties in States such as Vermont will still be unable to use them. The reverse is also true, Americans with properties in Canada will now be allowed to use them. Canadian businesses relying on American tourists will see a resurgence in trade. The lack of reciprocity will grate on those adversely affected on both sides.
  15. On the other hand, since cases in the US are now heading inexorably upward and still trending lower in Canada (11 vs 1 per 100,000), many Canadians will be just as happy staying home.
  16. There's a better one: "My face is my fortune."
  17. Well the US just announced the land border will remain closed to Canadians until at least Aug 21, except for essential travel. I think this is going to infuriate many Canadians since we now have a better handle on vaccination rates and cases of infections than the US
  18. My post was not political in content: rather it was discussing legal concepts.
  19. I am all for trying to find homes for unwanted dogs but not at the cost of delivering a dog into a household where it will be abused and lead a miserable existence. Just as some people should not have children, some should not be allowed anywhere near a dog.
  20. That includes Justin Trudeau and his wife, who got the AstraZeneca vaccine.
  21. I would consult a lawyer that specializes in trusts and estate planning. They would be familiar with gifts of this kind to institutions such as universities. I personally think making gifts to benefit specific classes of individuals in perpetuity does pose the problem that either the class at some point will no longer be socially relevant (eg. chimney sweeps in Victorian England) or the institution will no longer be serving the class you designate, for whatever reason that cannot be anticipated today (eg. America becomes a theocracy and outlaws homosexuality). Can't happen? Look at Iran. Perpetuity is an awful long time.
  22. Yes, Happy Birthday. Hope you had someone to celebrate it with.
  23. Who's the attraction in Van? Curious minds want to know.😊
  24. I lived in only one gayborhood which was Montreal's Le Village from 1998 to 2010. It was at its peak and has gone downhill since then but still is active. When I moved there I thought I would stay for the rest of my life but I didn't and have no regrets. I can visit when I want to ( altho that wasn't the case the last year and a half) and I prefer living in a small town now with its own pleasures and attractions.
  25. As a foreigner who has only been to PS twice, I always refer to the whole area as Palm Springs. Just like I refer to Toronto as such and don't bother mentioning all the suburbs with their own city council like Mississauga, Brampton, etc.
