One of my tattoos is the "Serenity" logo (the name of the ship) from the series "Firefly". it's Chinese lettering. I've been assured that it's close to authentically the word for "serenity"; I'll take that at face value, but I have no idea if it's accurate, have no idea how to pronounce it, and have no bad feelings about that at all.

This. What's weird about tattoo threads is how often they devolve into a snide vindictiveness from the tattoo police.

Old is old, whether or not you're tattooed. Its possible that the subject in the photograph may actually enjoy the incongruity of being old and wrinkled and having a tattoo on her back that says "forever 18." You notice that she's wearing a somewhat revealing bathing suit. She may be in deep denial- or she just doesn't care what people think - one of the privileges of aging.

The popularity of tattoos, like the popularity of granite countertops, waxes and wanes. "Everything old is new again."

I get LOTS of positive feedback on mine. I guess the people who don't like them have manners enough to keep it to themselves.

I'm fairly heavily-tattooed: quarter-sleeves on both arms and a large back tattoo that covers my entire back. I guess one could say they're a fetish with me.

I became tatted this year at the age of 54. I knew exactly what I wanted and searched for an artist with experience in realism. For the most part I've received compliments. I like tattoos that are well done and convey a personal meaning.

Actually your facts aren't correct and we did rebuff them. The rate is half of what you said it is.

There are 1.1 million people in the US with HIV, from all sources combines. Even if you assumed every single case was MSM, 20% rate would mean there are only 5.5 million MSM in the country. That's simply not credible.

If you are 43 and had no clue the rate was this high you are part of the fucking problem because you weren't paying attention. I could understand a 23 year old not knowing, but you were a teenager when the shit started hitting the fan and should have been keeping yourself informed.

I'm an hiv positive hooker. I was positive before I started working the interwebz. In the beginning it was hard because being undetectable wasnt a thing and the risk of transmition was real. But now with being undetectable it has gotten easier. But there's still a lot of learning some need to do. 1. I know my status. 2. I'm responsible and I do my lab works regularly along with STI checks. 3. I am undetectable. The chances of passing it is less than 1% or so. Funny thing though despite all of this I was recently turned down. My thoughts? I thought to myself, fuck this ignorant dumb ass mother fucker and blocked him.

I was at a bodybuilding event last weekend. The Asian athletes were spectacular - so cut and muscular that they looked like animations from a video game.

FWIW...Some don't care, but some do. I don't think just because an escort is successful or "great" means that he is not a racist. One has nothing to do with the other. I've had the pleasure of being with some great escorts over the years, and I've have had some pretty disgusting comments made to me, because they had no idea what I was. It's amazing what people will say to you when they are unaware of your ethnicity. Top shelf might get you a higher quality experience between the sheets, but it is certainly no guarantee of anything else. As I've gotten older, I realize that minds are rarely, if ever changed, so I don't call them out, unless I decide to pull the plug on a hire. Every situation is different, so there are times when I'll let certain comments slide.

I've always been of the opinion, right or wrong, that you have to chose your battles. Moving the needle on systemic racism embedded into someone's character is unlikely to happen...it is the way of the world. There are too many out there who genuinely don't care, to waste time on the few who do.

I will always continue to be surprised that such a large number of gay men, who so often feel discriminated against personally because they are not considered "normal" by many people in "straight" society, even now, after having achieved some very hard won rights, still feel so racially prejudiced against certain ethnicities. I understand that we may not all be attracted sexually to persons of each and every race, but treating anyone socially as being beneath yourself because of their race is simply loathsome to me. I'm sorry. I just don't understand that mindset.

@GLEE and @Drained Empty, you both sound as if you are better men than those who treat you with such disrespect and are usually able to rise above it, though I can understand that the hurt can be discouraging and sometimes run far too deep. I know you will both find many, many people who look beyond your outward appearance (not to infer that you are not beautiful in your very Asian-ness) to the beautiful humans you are within. Hang in there and ignore the short-sightedness of those who cannot see beyond their narrow minded prejudices.

I don't understand how anyone could NOT be into Asian men. Of course, saying I like Asian men doesn't mean I like every Asian man, but of course, I don't go for every white man either.

Sorry when you're doing it in a public place, and accommodating a shared amenity in that public place to do so, you have no reasonable expectation of being left to monopolize it. If they want privacy they can take it to a hotel or their place.

It's hilarious that the same people who are like "give Derek a chance" would probably lose their shit if the pizza they ordered was delivered to the wrong hotel, arrived at the right hotel 1.5 hours late, and then wasn't satisfying. The dude is running a business and providing a service. In this case the customer was displeased and wrote a review of the service. The business responded by acknowledging the fundamental problems but also telling the customer and future customers "deal with it." Derek should man up and edit his response next time he's not in a manic headspace.

The problem in this case is human nature. Pretty people can get away with things a lot easier than we trolls can. It's probably not unreasonable to think that if Derek is this handsome now he might have been extremely handsome from high school on. So if he's always been treated as a pretty person, then he expects to get away with things. And obviously, at least by stereotype, gays are obsessed with external appearances. So Derek continually gets away with his 'Bad Boy' behavior because even if there's one gay client who won't ever risk seeing him again, there's always a new gay client willing to take the risk because of his looks.

With a lot of escorts I'm always reminded of that 30 Rock episode when Liz Lemon has the extremely good looking boyfriend played by Jon Hamm. Everybody treats him special*, and he doesn't realize it. Liz has him wear facial bandages. And all of a sudden he's treated normally. He thinks people are being mean to him. (I wish I could find that clip to play it here. But I've looked. ).

    Gman

    * I need a grammar maven here. 'Special' sounds better to me here. But I think it's an adverb modifying 'treat'. So should I have written 'specially' instead?

While not a porn star, there was one very popular escort here on the Forum that I saw years ago for an overnight. The experience was definitely lacking. I didn't say anything on here because it looked to me as if I would have been savaged for not singing his praises.

Geez, I know there are two sides to every story, but Derek Atlas’s response to his negative review today is enough to make me steer clear of him. I know he’s an established escort with good reviews, but his response sure makes him sound like a first class jerk. Chin up “CAbigboy”! There are lots of skilled, sensitive escorts out there so don’t give up the search.
