So far from what I’ve gathered is that if you buy an expensive German car you get a better radio and it feels solid when you shut the door. Now I know what I’ve been missing driving a 10 year old Honda. 

Is at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan. Surrounded by what seems like hundreds of 18th century Italian figures. I’ve seen it many times and always discover something new.

Known mostly for her hanging wire sculptures, this new show at the Whitney has many of her drawings, water colors, prints and folded paper and is quite wonderful. I always enjoy the views from the museum which were especially nice on this beautiful fall day. That called for a walk up the High Line to the Hudson Yards. The ill fated Vessel has now become a Christmas decoration.

Today I saw Merrily We Roll Along. I know there’s already a post about the show, which is very good. But this is what happened at the end. It’s that time of year when performers raise money for Broadway Cares. Today Daniel Radcliffe ran an auction raising $1,500 hundred. He was fun to watch with all his enthusiasm. It was something the cast had autographed.

While the Frick is undergoing its renovation for the next couple of years seeing the collection at the Breuer gives a whole new perspective to the art. A few years ago as a member I got to see the second floor of the Frick mansion. It was fun to see what were the living quarters turned into office space which will now be exhibition space. Going up the staircase I got a better look at the pipe organ which sadly is no longer used. 
There was a time if you were rich enough you had two things in your mansion. A pipe organ and a bowling alley in the basement. The Frick has a bowling alley and the staff is allowed to use it. 
The new Halls of Gems and Minerals is now open at the American Museum of Natural History and it’s spectacular. 

Tunisia, Italy and France. 3 very difficult and important places I’ve visited. 

Have you ever decided it was too hot to cook and just ordered a pizza? Have you ever thought about the person making that pizza in a hot kitchen? Have you ever thought about how much sweat was dripped onto that pizza? I suppose the hot ovens cooked it all off. But still…..
Sometimes it’s best not to think about what goes on in kitchens, at home or in restaurants.
