I recommend Fontainebleau and Chantilly. Both are quick train rides from Paris with great architecture, huge gardens and much smaller crowds. 

American live over their means.  They buy the newest phone, a better car, get meals delivered or go out to eat.  They pay heavy interest on credit card debt.  They hire expensive escorts.  Of those, my phone is old, my care was 10 years old until a deer ran into it, so now I have a three year old car, I stopped getting meals in.   I have one credit card and it is paid off automatically every month.  When I go out to eat, it is not usually a spectacular place.  As for the escorts, well we all have our needs which are a bit on the costly side.  
The truth is, I do not like spending money when I can avoid it.  At this point in my life however, my limited travel will be economy or first class, not coach.  I will allow myself the occasional financial indulgence at a restaurant.  But, I rarely get wine with dinner.  
I think many Americans could avoid debt if they tried.  I do realize, there are plenty of people who have jobs that barely let them get by.  When I was in that position, I had three jobs, two full time and one part time.  They allowed me to pay for school and become trained in a better paying field.

I'd say you are putting the cart before the horse.  Just because someone came up as a "match" on a dating website doesn't indicate there will be any mutual interest.  I used to get lots of fake matches when I was on OKCupid.  That's one of the tricks those platforms use to keep people signed up.
Or maybe he's playing the same con man game on a website: You chat, you think there's potential, you chat some more, and then he asks for money and you never meet.
I hope my cynicism is wrong, that you contact him and hit it off.  I also don't see why you would bring up this past non-encounter, though, since you never even met him.  For all you know some other person conned you out of money by fraudulently using this guy's photos.

It's usually about 40 minutes and under $30 to get right into Penn Station and Moynihan Train Hall, with one transfer at Jamaica. Faster, cheaper, and way less stressful than sitting in a car watching the meter climb. I've done this 3 times since my original ask last year.
