In 2015 I spent several days in Amsterdam at a top hotel with Chris Eisenhower (miss you!) and the room had Toto washlets in the bathrooms. We both loved it, and when I retired a year later I got one for my home bathroom as a present to myself. It cost about $3000 including the unit and installation (I'm sure there are less expensive versions) and I don't regret it for one moment. Maybe it's for people "of a certain age" but I find it makes me feel clean and sanitary.

used an "electronic bidet" at the rental home friends were staying at about a year ago......first time I ever used anything like it.....it was required use at this particular 1930s-era rental because the septic system was fragile and the landlords didn't want toilet paper clogging it up.....
 
a small, heated stream of water shooting straight up was engaged at the push of a button....a very concentrated and effective squirt - even a bit invasive!.....slight moving around ensured that you were completely cleaned up all over your bottom......afterwards, one "bunch" of toilet paper dried you up and it, clean, was deposited in a small wastebasket for that purpose
 

I was recently at the Grand Hyatt, Kauai. They had a "Japanese" toilet.
 
You could choose temperature; smooth or pulsating; stationary or moving; and when you were done, and nice, warm breeze.

I grew up in hong kong and have lived in japan, but manhattan is home now. I agree, that tipping culture here is way overboard. I always feel compelled to tip 20% for any type of service. I always tip 5$ or more to uber/lyft drivers as well. I much prefer the japanese custom of non tipping. There are a few restaurants in manhattan that have nontipping policies. The only place am cheap with are chinese restaurants as they are accustomed to 10% tips.

Mizumi at the Wynn for presentation. . For non atmospheric hole-in-the Wall sushi, I prefer Sushi Twister which serves excellent tuna belly.

Unfortunately, the atmosphere is unlikely to impress.
It's in a strip mall (like most of Vegas). The inside is
very simple and small. It's reminiscent of some of the
nicer sushi bars I've been to in Tokyo.
 
It's very nice, and I have no problem recommending it.
Anyone who's into truly sushi will appreciate it.
 
If you're more the "california roll" type....I'd go for the
gigantic Sushi Samba in the Venetian. It's very good
sushi (usually with a modern twist).
 
They are totally different atmospheres and menus.
