A man comes home one day and says, "Guess what honey?  Pack your bags, I won the lottery!"  The wife squeals with delight and says, "That's great!  Should I pack for the mountains or the beach?"  He says, "I don't care, just get out!"

I think this is a harsh and insensitive response to anyone who struggles with addiction or mental health. Addiction is a disease that many battle with all their might, but the disease always finds it way back into their life not due to lack of effort. I’m sure addicts are well aware of the repercussions.

Hopefully some day you will find compassion instead of looking at this as something that is black and white. Every person is different and I’m sorry you look upon these people in need as “placating, enabling and grieving losers”.  How about remembering that he was someone’s brother, son, father, uncle, friend, partner, etc.  Don’t be so quick to dismiss human life.

A minor point, but a strong peeve of mine: food preferences are not analogous to "preferences" having to do with race and ethnicity. Spices, ingredients, allergies, carbs, fats, etc., all play into taste in cuisines. Also, the quality of the preparation varies as do prices.

Ethnic and racial "preferences" often reflect assumptions about people based on stereotypes.

Having manners (and some self-respect) has little to do with being wealthy.
Let's never forget, money usually screams.  Wealth whispers.

You posted a slideshow of Cade's mugshots back in December 2020.  We get it -- Cade's arrest record (and maybe other things) make you not want to hire him.  I don't understand why you feel the need to revisit this point nearly two years later.

It truly depends on the hotel and the employee.
No matter what stories you hear on this thread, I'd still tread lightly with hotel staff.
More to what the OP is seeking, super high-end is not really in the wheelhouse of this board.

My heart goes out to those who were close to him.  I've experienced my share, and then some,of loss.  Thankfully, most of my family died peacefully, but three had tough endings.  Dying in one's sleep is a mercy for which to be thankful.  I've also been present when my mom died, and spoke to my grandfather and cousin hours before they died.  Take comfort in knowing that among his last conversations were ones who cared.

In "common law", the operative concept is "adverse possession” for vacant property when non-owners move in without permission.  The owner can lose ownership to the squatters.  That's different from Glutes's fact pattern where his initial residence is by an extended invitation.  Whether or not rent is paid, allowing a person to reside for a period of time confers tenancy rights, especially in the absence of an enforceable contract that has a set term and contemplates termination.
