Most providers, especially the savvy ones, aim for repeat business. The issue is that without understanding the reason behind the provider letting their ad expire, you're exposing yourself to considerable risk. It's impossible to determine whether the expiration was a deliberate choice or an unintended oversight. I wouldn't take the chance without first discussing it with the provider.
