    No doubt!
There's power and personal pride in having someone pay you to have sex with him. Even folks who in this forum constantly refer to escorts as "whores" know those whores have sex for free with other young in shape men but not with their clients.
I do understand why some think having $200-$300 extra to spare gives them power over others... momentarily at least.

I also suspect that transactional sex doesn't fit in that triangle, unless there's another point besides "passion." I'm afraid transactional sex doesn't cover "liking" in that sense.
The Greeks had several words for love too. The operative word here is "eros," or entirely erotic. Not agape or philia.

You're not thinking about intangibles. There are plenty of escorts out there who receive weekly or monthly deposits in their bank accounts just for texting and talking and sharing pictures of their daily life.
Don't underestimate the number of people will pay to have a pretend boyfriend.

Only times where I had free-of-charge hang-outs with provider are all initiated by him. I initiated once (after several free hang-outs) and got rejected cold. I book him for the next day, he buy me ice creams and we move on. Unspoken but lesson learnt.

The consensus is don’t ask. I 100% agree. I’ve been in that position (literally ha ha) and it’s just so so awkward when clients misread your eagerness to please and give them a great time.
I guess it’s understandable if the boundaries of the session are blurry and a sensual massage morphs into an escort style session which often happens.
I had a client where the sessions got very intense and intimate. He enjoyed bottoming as part of the massage and it happened regularly although not every time - it was never obligatory on either party (which I think is better during a massage session because it needs to flow naturally and be part of massage not an act separate from it which would be the case if he’d booked an escort session).
After the sessions he’d hint at meeting up outside of the client/provider dynamic although he never specifically asked me. Then one time I got a message from him that was slightly different from his usual booking request: “hi Jamie how are you? You free to come to mine sometime next week for a massage and fun?”  I’d always seen him previously at my studio. I knew what he was angling for so I replied “hi xx, yes can do, what day works for you and how long would you like?”. Putting a duration on it would imply it’s a paid session and indeed he inferred it as intended because he came back with “not sure what day I can do yet, I’ll let you know” and I never heard from him or saw him again ….
Clients:  you’re booking a paid session with someone who does sex work. Whether it’s massage or escort service the understanding is that there’s going to be some kind of sexual activity in exchange for money. To make the session work better everyone suspends belief for the moment that were it not for money the situation wouldn’t be happening. The provider, having done that many times is really good at it (that’s why they do the job). So good in fact that the client finds it difficult to switch back to reality after the session and actually starts to think “was it real? He seemed to be really into me”. The provider thinks “he enjoyed that, he’ll book again, now what shall I have for lunch…”.
It sounds like you found a great provider who really cares about your enjoyment of the session. Don’t ruin it by changing the dynamic. If you’re looking for free hookups don’t even think about it. It will annoy the hell out of him. If you want a relationship let him initiate it.

My top guy has let a few fly every once in awhile, but I am not overly sensitive and we have a good laugh about it.
I like an environment where we can joke with each other without hurt feelings.

This is ultimately a 'human business' - you gotta trust your gut. Do not let your junior do (much of) the thinking.
Learn to play the game well - the relationship is founded on transaction, every interaction is based on mutual gains, there could be something else overtime (eg respect or even geniune platonic care/friendship) but it rarely go beyond what they would cultivate in their personal life.
I trust my regular to care for my needs when he is on the clock, appreciate his views on life matters but would take his sweet talks with a grain of salt as its his job to make his client feel special. You pay him to do that.

Like any job some people do the job just for the money and some do it because it’s their vocation. A client will be able to tell who’s in it just for the money and who’s in it because they genuinely enjoy the work. Why shouldn’t a provider who discovers he’s good at the work not get paid for it just like any job? If you enjoy the work you don’t see clients as ATM’s but as customers to keep happy (because that’s a big part of the job satisfaction) and as individuals to value (because that’s what being in a people business is about). The providers who see clients as ATM’s don’t last long in this business because it’s all about repeat clients.

I'm unclear where trust is in the equation. You're the one who is trusted if you're a regular, dependable client. I do read men on here very occasionally mention how a genuine friendship was formed, and for that, I'm quite jealous. Yes, to people I patronized regularly (and I wasn't alone, by any means), I am just an ATM. An ATM they take great care of in my company, which is why I am willing to see again. And again.

Echoing other poster, T&C ought to be agreed upfront, always - just like in any other businesses. Any miscom due to absence of such is a negligence on both parties. Client should always ask for confirmation.
That said, any provider tries to upcharge is guaranteed no further business from me. I prefer $$$ agreed upfront, all inclusive. If provider did 'extra' then I would happily tip.

Just couple moments with provider that I find hilarious - at least for me:
Indirectly calling me (his client) 'ugly' when he was commenting a provider's RM profile by saying 'he [an objectively below average looking guy] looks like a client'
Responding with 'ofc not, you are paying me' to my question of 'do you mind if I do this?' when I was on top of him
To be clear, I was not offended - more of amused honestly.
The shocking look on his face as he realises what had came out of his mouth, how his voice went quite real slow as he finishes his sentence and how quickly he breaks eye contact are just a pure comedy. I had so much fun just 'grilling' him for the rest of the session.
