The conversation is about Brandin Hawk, and his inability to serve when a client stinks. Not about whether the use of cologne and deodorant are a plus or a minus for clients. So lets not wander too far off the subject. 
I tend to agree, that I dont enjoy a man who wears perfume and I hate when I get a mouthful of deodorant. But the primary focus here is how Brandin expects THE CUSTOMER to arrive. His own words were about soap and water and being thorough in your personal hygiene. 
The pushback as @SecretProvider has mentioned is a bit bizarre to me. "Man-scent" is a well known sexual fetish but to my knowledge, the conversation started about a sensual massage hire, not a full blown session of sweaty man2man fuck-n-suck.  So its perfectly reasonable without a specific request for sniffing some ripe ball-sack, that everyone arrive fresh and free of stank.

I 100% have had clients specifically request NO DEODORANT. If you have a fetish for this kind of smell, it is so simple- you just ASK FOR IT.  I didn't, and Brandin didn't either.

(important word here is CLEAN)  I have a regular client that plans our schedules around when I go to the gym so that I can see him straight afterwards- still wearing my sweaty gym gear and underpants. I see him weekly, he knows my regular gym class schedule. I message him if my gym plans change so we can work around it. Sometimes I wear the same underpants from the day before for him when I work out so when I see him to give it gives it an extra PANG. 
Guess what @Luv2play- I STILL SHOWER AND + GET FRESH AND CLEAN MY ASS BEFORE I WORK OUT SO MY ASS DOESN'T SMELL LIKE SHIT. This is a VERY DIFFERENT scenario than what we were discussing with the OP. If you are wanting SWEATY MAN SMELL - no problem  just request that. 
@Luv2playI am telling you, as a PROVIDER, we are NOT requesting or excited by a client who is not clean and smelling fresh. While some clients, such as yourself, request no deodorant or cologne, please understand that unless this is specifically requested, it is generally assumed that we use these products at a basic level. Not doing so would be outside the norm. (not that there is anything wrong with natural scent - JUST ASK FOR IT) 
We can be smelly and dirty if you ask, but unless you ask for it - it would be rude of us to arrive smelly and dirty -RIGHT? same applies both ways. Unless we ask for you to arrive smelly - please don't.
Don't know why this is so hard for y'all to accept but I am getting to my wits end here. Is this the twilight zone?
Have a shower and brush your teeth daily + always assume your partner (and ESPECIALLY YOUR  PROVIDER) wants you CLEAN. PLEASE.

I do not read Brandin as saying he does not offer escort svcs vs that's not what was booked and therefore off the table. If that, reasonable - you get what you schedule. If not that, then agree the ad is false advertising.

I've never understood clients complaining about the level of hotel an escort is staying in.  Who cares if it's a Motel 6 or a luxury hotel if you're only hiring someone for an hour?  If it's the neighborhood one doesn't like, then it's on the client to know the area where he's hiring and to decline to book if the escort is in a part of town you don't want to go to or, in the alternative, provide a place to host.
All that said, obviously we're going to be left with a "he said, he said" here.  On the one hand, if a provider truly is only offering massage services then I don't understand advertising on Rent.men because that's just going to make potential clients believe more than massage is available.  On the other hand, BrandinHawk's ad, when read carefully, doesn't indicate anything explicitly sexual (oral or anal) other than rimming so despite an indication that he offers a "boyfriend experience" it's up to the client to ask what's actually being offered.  Only BrandinHawk and Jordoncrag know what was discussed in advance, so we don't know whether the OP confirmed what he wanted was available or whether he simply didn't ask.
