It's Houston, Texas.  Emphasis seems to be on the less theraputic aspects of a happy experience.   He's not the hottest on offer but to me that's part of the appeal. I like regular guys who are fun

You take the classy approach and you say 'thanks for your reply and have a great day/night'
Don't ever be the guy who pivots to the haggle or complaining/rate shaming.
    Just move on.

I doubt anyone in the country blames providers for inflation or that they are coordinating a boycott of the sector to protest.
Any move to zero engagement is likely for a price that is considered too expensive relative to a clients perception of market value and perhaps their own cash flow give tougher times.

It’s not their job to understand … you can quote whatever you want for whatever reason - and they can choose to engage you or not

A reminder of what this means.
in a world where unpaid sex through hooking up apps easier to find by the day, providers who sit calculating “inflation” without understanding the true implication of what that means, may find, as they themselves age, that they are left with nothing rather then something
Quote them whatever you want. Unless you have a gun to someone’s head (do you?), if they don’t want to pay they won’t engage you.

Every escort when starting out needs to watch the 1992 film Glengarry Glen Ross.  Learn it.  Be able to quote it.
This business is, in essence, a sales job of building relationships.  It can be a very successful career for those who are closers.
It's also a job for guys who can both quickly read and then deliver what clients want.
This can mean many things, many of which have ZERO to do with sex.

No, but the fact is you are in the business of sales.  And anyone who's done sales knows the ratio misses to hits.  Leads take schmoozing, deals collapse at the last minute, the market is a cruel, hard, changeable bitch and there's always somebody who's going to compete.  I get that you're setting your limits but you sound frustrated as hell about things you really cannot change.

I worked in Dallas, Texas for two years after the felony laws went into effect. No change in hiring trends or number of providers, basically nothing changed. From what I’ve read, it may have marginally impacted the straight hiring scene moreso than m4m, but I don’t know for sure.

I've been asked for a deposit once. He also asked me for a photo.  I didn't communicate any further, which I suppose he interpreted as flaking.  Didn't really care.  I'm sympathetic to providers who say a deposit makes sense after demonstrations of unreliability.  I'm also sympathetic to people whose reaction is it is an opportunity to get ripped off.

Doing business is not about being aggressive or having terms that are not on arms lengths to your customers. Escorts should understand they are running a business and a service, where client satisfaction is very important. Escorts should try to communicate there terms and conditions ahead of clients in a friendly manner, for example you might say 'please let me know if you cancel or change your mind one or two days before hand'. If the client cancel last minute you might say 'this cancellation is really unacceptable given I could have other bookings', you might then want to give them another chance as a gesture of goodwill. If the client flakes again then simply say you can no longer do business with them.
Making the client experience better is a win-win situation, not only would you have repeat clients but word of mouth is actually quiet big in this business.
There's different ways in approaching situations like these. I for one would never pay the full amount upfront.

Under no circumstances should you pay a deposit. These escorts are only in it for the money, if they get money from you (the deposit) for doing nothing, it is very likely that they are not going ahead with the booking and will scam you.
Even if you met them before, don't pay a deposit. As they can still scam you.
If they still insist on a deposit, book elsewhere. Plenty of other guys that don't require a deposit.

I don’t think you’re in the minority. I agree with you, and I think most providers would. I don’t care what my clients look like. Sometimes someone is really fat and that presents logistical problems but it doesn’t mean he isn’t deserving of having fun. Some of my clients are disabled and I know they’ve told me some guys turned them down which I find really sad. It’s their loss because those clients are some of my best.

That’s different though. The provider hasn’t asked for it. I’m saying the provider specifically asking for a picture is a red flag to the client. They should beware of the provider that only wants to see ‘hot’ clients because it’s a potential sign he’s not really interested in his clients satisfaction.
The only reason I might need to know a client’s physical description is if they’re too big for the massage table or if they have a disability. Most clients offer those things up without me asking. Otherwise I find out when they turn up.
I’ve never met a guy who has a pic of his ‘frontal areas’ that under represents his size!  I agree though…if I know he’s got big equipment and wants to top me I’ll be extra well prepared 🤪
