  1. I am not an expert on Mexico City, but have stayed there 3-4 times in the period 2017-2018. I suggest:

-- Stay in the Gran Hotel for a few days and live out your fantasies.  Then move to a different neighborhood.

-- Try Polonco.  The Presidente was just fine for me.  Explore the Zona Rosa or Condessa.  These neighborhoods are more lively in the evening and more central to places you will want to visit.

I bet others here know more about Mexico City than I.  I hope they chime in.

  2. I understand why you want to stay at the Gran Hotel de la Ciudad de Mexico. I wanted to stay there too.  I am very glad I did stay there (2018 I believe), but would not do so again.  I definitely would not want to stay there for 10 days.  It is a bit the worse for wear, but, even worse in my mind, also sad.  Not full and clearly not what it once was.

  3. I just came back to the US from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

I walked-in (no appointment) to a clinic next to the gay bars, paid $28 USD, and had my negative test results in hand within 10 minutes.

Yes, the one you used may have been quick, but most are not.  I had an antigen test in PV last Friday at 6pm and was only promised the results by 9pm.  I thought this very slow.  Through googling I saw that many are even slower.

    So:  plan ahead boys.

I don’t even know what to make of this. He cleans your house and you can fuck him after his chores are done? I mean….what?

Sounds good to me.  But there is a hint of unmanageability in the way he presents himself. PNP may be very important.

It must be very difficult if your sole source of income is from doing sex work. I’ve been doing it 5 years now and I can kind of predict the revenue stream but it’s patchy and, especially now during a pandemic, unreliable.

I understand why Jarrod is annoyed at clients who are sketchy because you try to accommodate them, you try to be available but sometimes it just doesn’t happen. You’re thinking ‘ah great, I’ll hit my target’ and then they flake. Often with no stated reason. That can be really annoying if you have cancelled other arrangements to be available.

I get a lot of last minute requests “are you available today at 3?” for example at say 2pm. The answer is almost always “no, sorry “. I could say that I would have been had you asked yesterday for today but now I’m doing something else….but I don’t because it’s not worth being that spiky. I just say that it’s best to book a bit in advance if possible because I get busy and leave it at that.

This is a customer service business and regardless of how we think the customers should behave, in a customer service business the customer is always right. If they think I’m too expensive, not hot enough, not flexible enough, a bad masseur etc then that’s their prerogative. They interact but won’t book if my proposition doesn’t attract them enough. Clearly for me there’s enough clients who are happy with my package (me, the massage, the sex, the rates, the availability etc) that I get enough work to keep me in the business. When the clients dry up I’ll know to stop.

I do other work too (justforfans lol) and non sex work so that my income is regular. It’s too random to rely completely on provider work. I think doing that causes too much stress, hence the irritation that Jarrod experiences as a result of the work that has to go in to managing customer service. I think one just has  to accept that some customers won’t change, you can filter them out a bit by marketing, but can’t avoid them.

I am far from you now and unlikely to ever go to London, but your post makes a very positive impression.  I wish you well.

  6. Dear Kensington Homo,

I am not the closeted old queen you might suspect.  Rather:

-- provider hiring is a side of my life I choose to keep private, and the reasons for that are private too.

-- I am concerned that an electronic transfer might somehow be used--in ways I cannot either know or imagine--to defraud me.  There are many more unscrupulous providers than there are hotels or restaurants. And what recourse will I have?

As to risks.  There are plenty on both sides. My guess is that there may even be as many no show providers as there are clients.  The client does, however, get to keep the money.

    yours,

    Old John

PS:  Most of my hiring is in continental Europe, but in my native US there are police stings targeting clients.

  7. Both Kensingtonhomo and nycman have a point.  BUT even if I were willing to put down a $25 deposit, how do I get it to the provider? The business is full of untrustworthy types, and plenty clients are deceived and robbed (see these pages passim). Providers are not out of the same bag as my doctor. I am supposed to send it electronically?  Or give the guy a credit card number like I do restaurants and hotels?  No way.

Please don't go and list 87 ways to make a "safe and anonymous" electronic transfer.  I just won't do it. Cause I don't believe it's safe and anonymous.

There are lots of risks in this business.  The client shoulders many.  Providers can shoulder others.

  8. No. Shopping includes asking the salesman about the $300 item: how does it work?  what does it do? And considering: do I like the way it functions? is it really what I am looking for?  Sometimes the answer is "not for me" or "not today" or "maybe later."  That's all part of the territory.

I shop.  I ask questions, but I try to keep track of the responses and to whom I have spoken.  I think I have a good system, but can slip up, esp. with changing profiles.

However, you can be annoyed if the same customer comes back again and again over a period of time and asks the same questions.  But there are customers like that in every business.

Shopping is not running into the store, grabbing the first thing you find, and paying, but some providers seem to think that's how it works.
