I’ve used dayuse.com several times. super easy with lots of options in big cities. you can pay on the website or upon arrival at hotel. very good deals & deep discounts compared to overnight rates. it’s a perfect solution for hiring - totally worth it to avoid risk of having a stranger in your home it makes sense - hotels are getting additional revenue from unused rooms during the day.

while anecdotes are interesting & are part of the story - it’s generally more useful to look at market trends. Since, beginning of 2024 - home prices are up in San Francisco 3.7% YTD according to the MSN story provided. No telling if this will be sustained or not. the big difference between San Francisco & Florida - SF has jobs & income to support high home prices. Florida does not - the Florida economy is driven by low-wage jobs in service & tourism. Florida’s real estate sector is based upon speculation. San Francisco economy is driven by global technology & finance - more billionaires per capita in SF than any where else. And it’s not just billionaires - the very high incomes of tech workers in SF supports high home prices in a very small city with a finite supply of housing. The problems in SF will eventually get fixed. And Florida will remain Florida, dependent on nonstop & unregulated population growth to sustain the real estate speculation, which has already peaked. both areas have a long history of boom & bust real estate cycles. no surprise SF is seeing a bust now.

Challenges of Moving Countries for Retirement or Employment
SouthOfTheBorder replied to mike carey's topic in The Lounge
he made a poor choice for two reasons. first, a small town in a foreign country with little to no expat community will ensure isolation. second, if retiring abroad for economic reasons alone, meaning lower cost of living - then yes, I expect that would lead to someone feeling isolated because probably can’t afford to travel to return to home country whenever the urge hits. Vietnam would be a deal-breaker given distance from US for me. lots of positives about retiring abroad - but definitely not for everyone. willingness & determination to learn the local language is essential no matter where you choose - if not, isolation will certainly follow no matter the location. being close to a major airport also helps if the idea is extensive travel while in retirement or to return to home country at will. -
the “soap opera” is a very small part of the interest. the bigger story is the entire British media being complicit w the Monarchy in suppressing the real story, whatever that may be. And, of course it exposes the hypocrisy & racism of the Royal Family as it demands privacy for Middleton and the press goes along while at the same time, offering up Meghan Markle for public consumption with no pushback. The racism is significant as King traditionally heads the Commonwealth of Nations - former British Colonies, mostly populated by people of color. It all begins to look ridiculous in context of their own personal situations & behavior. It stirs debate in those countries about true independence and severing relations with the Crown, like now happening in Jamaica & Nigeria. The Royals have a long & established history of disposing of people who no longer serve their interests or somehow threaten the Monarchy. Obviously, Middleton has delivered the heir & spare - and now she is no longer necessary. Not the first time. its the unraveling of a centuries old global institution- with almost no questions being asked by the press, for whatever reason. Thats what is interesting.

Challenges of Moving Countries for Retirement or Employment
SouthOfTheBorder replied to mike carey's topic in The Lounge
it’s easy to get visas for retirement for a variety of countries - those visas are typically classified as “non-lucrative” and prohibit any work while in that country. also usually requires becoming a tax-resident whether or not you live there most of the time. most require proving adequate financial resources necessary to support the visa-holder(s) in retirement. working & living in another country where you don’t have citizenship is another matter & not easy unless it’s a “digital-nomad” visa where the person works remote from a company based abroad. most countries don’t allow any visas for foreigners to live & work in the country - it’s viewed as taking a job away from someone that lives there. there are some exceptions for highly-skilled workers that companies relocate for specific jobs. -

scammers acting as providers is a frequent topic on many threads here they have many different ways to scam & get money from targets the threats are very real & it’s way more common than anyone thinks - the vast majority never get reported and never show up in any reviews. buyer beware -
she’s not coming back - and hasn’t been seen in almost six months. the two younger children haven’t been seen either

it feels like “scamming” or people actively doing dishonest or harmful things using online platforms is accelerating. there are more perpetrators looking for victims because it’s just easier online - and the ease of which many invite strangers into their homes, typically when they are alone & most vulnerable. there’s nothing wrong with an abundance of caution however that works for each person in context of risk tolerance. and there’s a big difference between a mediocre provider appointment or getting short-changed vs getting robbed/assaulted or blackmailed. while the chances are slim this will happen, play the game long enough & with frequency - something unpleasant will happen. the idea is to minimize the chances for something to go sideways. I think the best vet is to hire someone with a known public profile - someone that has a social media presence or other. very unlikely for someone to risk their reputation on small stuff. risk-tolerance definitely changes over time & when you have more to lose. I’d never invite an unknown person into my home these days for whatever reason. dayuse.com is your friend - discounted hotel rooms during day hours when trouble is less likely to happen

Be alert around Pride or other LGBTQIA+ gatherings this year

LOL - much prefer someone with a strong opinion vs the passive/aggressive types. and prefer those who speak to the subject - at least they’re contributing whether others agree or not. the worst are the passive/aggressive who lurk around (several forums - not just this one) and live to pick apart opinions or real experiences posted by others, while offering none of their own. the constant negativity appears fueled by jealousy as they often target those who are well-traveled & having fun, then posting about it. perhaps Pride events or something similar would be helpful for those caught in a cycle of depression - to actually experience something in the real world vs just reading about it here. the internet, unfortunately provides ample outlets for negativity and further decline. very sad indeed for those afflicted -
these type events used to be free-spirited & fun, before crystal meth took over. after crystal use was normalized & went mainstream- the vibe became super aggressive, bitchy & 100% sex. And that was on Day 1. After a few days of “partying” it just gets exponentially worse & no fun to be around whatsoever btw - the insatiable desire for sex created by crystal never actually gets satisfied, no matter how much sex the user has. it can never be enough. almost every person I’ve known using it has told me they know how to handle it - and inevitably gets messy - they're just not aware if you can tolerate hundreds of rude drugged-out zombies - then maybe the parties would be fun. there seems to less of it during day parties tho

agree re; the screenshots I posted - one “client” left 34 reviews from a total of about 40 reviews that are visible. It could be one enthusiastic client. It could also be someone who has figured out how to game it. if one client is leaving vast majority of reviews, it really doesn’t mean anything anyway I definitely look at # of reviews first and do a quick check for any pattern of bad reviews. If they make that cut, then go deeper into the patterns to see if the reviews look fake these days - if anything looks suspect at all, it’s a no

this reasoning could be used to exclude any group from any public venue. let’s say a fancy public restaurant (not a private club) decides that their core rich white customer won’t come if they let in any other minority groups. does that make any sense ? NO & it would violate several laws in practice, this still actually happens - although they try to hide their discrimination by saying the restaurant is “booked” or other excuses. Foolish indeed because they’re asking for a lawsuit. Exclusion of women during Pride events or in other traditional gay public places (bars, restaurants, etc) seems to be the opposite of the inclusiveness that Pride is trying to promote. Go figure - the gays want to discriminate when it might be a little uncomfortable to some. -

interesting thread with different views - some advocating “live & let live” aka sex in public at Pride type events and those who don’t want women in traditional gay spaces for sexual freedom which is it - you want everyone to see in public or you want privacy in certain spaces open only to a select few ? being gay means equal treatment- not special treatment with everything exactly how you want it to be in every space according to your exact desires & wishes -

it does feel like many of these Pride “events” are hyper-sexualized & pushing an agenda vs the original intent I don’t think it’s productive to have sex openly in public spaces as some sort of a statement. It becomes a spectacle and works against the community. rampant drug use & alcohol at these events doesn’t help either. it’s a perfect storm for the backlash we are experiencing now -
where are tickets available now ?

this is my opinion only based on alot of experience in Ft Lauderdale & Miami - both cities tend to be very transient in terms of providers, but for different reasons. Miami gets a lot of providers that travel extensively around the world and those guys have already left Miami for the season. They probably wont be in Miami for next several months. My two favorites that fall into that category are Marco_XL and MGXXL (formerly MegaXXL) on RM. A reputable guy that is in Miami most of the year is Derick_XXL - he has tons of great reviews & I’ve met him. As for Ft Lauderdale - well, it just tends to be transient with lots of providers moving in/out for whatever reason. Lots of guys dabbling for awhile in the business and they’re gone. One guy that has been around a long time w lots of reviews is ScottB on RM. All the others I knew personally are no longer working in Ft L. I’d suggest being very careful in S Florida in general and only going with guys that are very well-reviewed and/or referrals. Florida draws the very best providers and the very worst. Summer months will make it a bit more difficult than in the high-season in winter.

first - there is a big difference between Ft Lauderdale & Miami. Most of the guys on RM list under both cities, but they really won’t travel between the two cities unless you’re paying a premium - and some just won’t travel at all. I-95 connecting Miami & Ft Lauderdale has some of the worst traffic in the country. I’d decide where you’ll be staying first and then focus on guys in that city. It can be difficult to figure out who is really based on Ft L & who is in Miami. Miami tends to have more of the providers that travel internationally & more expensive. Ft Lauderdale tends to have more providers that cater to a mature clientele. Both cities have extensive choices and some of the best.

Update - Lucky Horseshoe Lounge in Chicago
SouthOfTheBorder replied to + Cock Eyed Optimist's topic in Male Strip Clubs
I doubt there is much, if any crossover between IML crowd & strip bars. At least in Ft Lauderdale - it’s very separate between leather community & Johnsons crowd. Johnsons seems to go younger or much older. Leather guys typically more middle age. Not all, but most. And the leather guys want real action & they have several venues - they don’t seem interested in a tease in a strip club. -
agree. and play frequent enough, well - it’s pretty much a certainty current terminology is STI, not STD
