    It seems incorrect.
I can think of Sarajevo and Istanbul that have Pride events.  So that would bring your "2" up to a total of 4 majority Muslim countries with Pride events.

Now that it's over it was certainly a sad outcome.
    But back to the OP
    No you are not insensitive.
I recognized how the lamestream media was dishing up continual content about the incident and I chose to turn away or click away.
Continual speculation and rehashing the likely outcome did not appeal to me yet I get how many are drawn to it.  Gawkers are gonna gawk.
At the point where a famous film director weighed in on the incident seemed a stretch.  Honestly don't know why his opinion mattered because I wasn't paying attention but apparently to many it did.
From an engineering standpoint one might ask how the design integrity was ever proven in the first place.  Or more to the point, how they failed to understand time-to-failure was far less than whatever factor is expected for such a design.
As someone stated above, at that depth it crushed like a bug.

I would be fascinated to hear how you know the families were mislead. Please provide source or are is that just your assumption?  From what I heard, they acknowledged the various noises as they were detected and determined they were inconclusive. Until they found wreckage.  That is what you are missing.

I think it is reprehensible that you inject the politics here. Hunter Biden has nothing to do with the submersible failure. Where are the moderators who complain that posts get too political?

    (Spoiler)
How Alexias realizes a dead soldier being carried away was his lover Lysis.  Devastating, poignant writing.  Before battle, Lysis was worried one of Alexias sandals needed repair.  Though the dead body being carried was covered, "the feet were showing beneath the cloak and one of the sandals was mended."  The reader then knows Lysis must have traded sandals with his young love Alexias, and had died in battle.
    2.  A Boy's Own Story
It begins with a late night boat ride with his dad on the lake in Michigan.  Hemingway-like.  There were other memorable scenes, e.g. Stonewall, in the Edmund Trilogy but this is the one I think of.
    3.  Giovanni's Room
Near the beginning.  It's morning. David and Joey are naked, in bed.  David watches beautiful young, innocent Joey sleeping.  David gets up and leaves.  I always think how the sweet Joey had dodged a bullet, to be rid of David.

    trying to keep this politics-free.....
mention was made upthread about the somewhat-parallel history of this forum (COM) and the forum now called gayguides......I'm not an insider, but can offer some comment from what I've learned for those interested in the history and for those newer to all this......others here in the forum know a lot more than me about the various personalities involved and are much-invited to correct any mistake I make here!
way back in "hooboy" days (pre-2006 or so), there was just one primary forum about providers (escorts).....hooboy started a website about 1999 called something like "male4maleescorts" because of his great interest in the subject and his desire to help others who dabbled in the hobby....in the early 2000s, hooboy was notorious for repeatedly losing his laptop while globetrotting, but was obsessed with getting the daily provider reviews posted on time......what is now the current COM forum you're at right now was also alive and well in those early "hooboy" days and had lively discussion and a host of charismatic posters (as we have today!).....at one point, I believe hooboy broke off political discussion into its own subforum to unclog the primary discussion forum......
hooboy died about 2006 and two of his techie IT-ish guys, believing in the "mission", vied to carry the site on.......there was something of a minor estate battle involving the "value" of the site between hooboy's real-life heirs and these two IT guys.....one of the two IT guys ("totallyoz" at gayguides) eventually created a site called, I think, "maleescortreview" (?) and the other IT guy ("daddy", who died in early 2021) created "daddysreviews" which has descended into this forum......both had/have popular forums and reviews......many here in the daddysreviews/COM forum famously referred only to the "other site" (avoiding mention of its real name) because "daddy" and "totallyoz" didn't get along in some way after hooboy's death......various forum members have come and gone, some joining both sites along the way (sometimes even with different handles!!) and occasionally offering vigorous commentary on the pros and cons of each site!.......of course, there are also many who join only one site or the other and have no interest in, or knowledge of, "the other site"......
possibly because of financial or marketing concerns, "totallyoz" of the "other site" eventually merged with larger messageboard hosting services (yuku and one or two others) and what is now called "gayguides" resulted.......as suggested upthread, it has become very much the leader of the two sites in international destination discussion of providers/sex work because, in part, totallyoz, I believe, lives overseas and because many of its forum members are only interested in those destinations.....
I think I have most of this correct......corrections or additions invited!

If the rate is ASK, I've been inclined to pass.
However a favorite provider recently updated his profile rate to ASK, though he didn't change his rates.  He gives a top rate, skilled massage service and is a sweet guy.
I may think twice from now on before deciding to pass on profiles with an ASK rate.
