I have noticed a huge increase in FTM providers in my area advertising on RM since this summer . (MA / RI). I'm not interested in hiring them, but the demand must be there since more and more are advertising. Good for them and their clients ! 

As a side note, how many times have many of us been in this position with other professions - such as house painters, roofers, contractors, etc. in which we give them a hefty deposit and this happens ?  They show up to our home on the first day (if we're lucky) drop a few old tools off and maybe some paint, and then take off - never to be seen again ? 
 
My experience - 2 summers ago a hot young guy in his 20s was going door to door in my neighborhood offering to wash windows. My windows were in dire need of a good washing on the outside, so I agreed to a price with this young flirty Adonis ;  $300 for 15 windows. I supplied the ladder, rags, squeegee  and Windex for him (I didn't mind) and he was to do the labor and supply his handsome face and killer smile.  I gave him half the money ($150) up front. First thing he did once he got on the ladder was take his tee shirt off, to expose his beautiful body while I was inside watching him. (Boy, did he know how to play me.)  After the third window, he told me he was going to a nearby Starbucks to grab something to drink - even asked me if I wanted something there to bring back (I declined). Needless to say, he put his shirt back on, jumped on his bike and I never saw him again. So I paid $150 for three outside windows to be washed and a semi-strip show where I stared at his  chest and treasure trail for about thirty minutes. Never got his phone number (as if it would matter) and barely got his name (I think it was Sherman).

You would do a good service if you left a review on his rentmen ad.  Just write  there what you wrote here.  
Based on your reported experience plus reading the reviews of others in his account who used his "services" the provider is a thief and has done what you reported, to other clients.  
If you are not a premium member, rentmen will not accept your review. 
You already got robbed of two thousand dollars by the thief, another small amount paid to rentmen will give you access to rentmen's reviews and will allow you to leave a review about the provider. 
Your experience is just one more example why clients should NOT give deposits or advance payments to providers. 
 

No I gave him half upon arrival.   He left the same evening while I was away from the Room.   
He has taken a 6 hour nap upon arriving here and I met friends for dinner as he slept through the reservation.  When he arrived at the next stop he was hungry and upon learning the Kitchen had closed he exited saying he was going to get a bite and return.  He was never seen again.  When I got back to the room he had packed and left.   

Guys: For what it’s worth, here is a bigger-picture explanation for my apparently inexplicable lapse in judgement regarding Miguel Chorizo PR.  About a year ago I discovered Miguel and a few forum members said they had seen him and it was a positive experience. So I saw Miguel and it was an uber fun, sexy AF time. I mean, wow!! About 6 months after that, last June, I contacted Miguel for a second meetup. He said “Let’s have a phonecall!” So he charmed the hell out of me for 10 minutes on the call and texted me big dick pics to remind me what he (and his Anaconda-sized cock) looked like. At the end of the call he said “Hey papi, would you mind sending me a small deposit?” And I thought “Why not help this guy out? He’s proven himself to be legit.” So I wired him $100 of his $300 fee. The day before the meetup I texted him to confirm and got no reply. Texted again; no reply. Then again. I texted once more and said “Miguel, what’s going on, my friend? Please confirm our appt. I can’t come up to NY and have you not be there.” Radio silence. I was angry at this point because he had violated my trust and also because it was getting to be too late to line up another provider. I never heard from Miguel again, even after one more text to him asking him why in the world he had totally ruined things for a fucking lousy $100. In any case, I left for vacation the next day and chalked it up to misguided trust and temporary insanity on my part because, well…I know better. Totally mea culpa. But today I want to say that I am super sorry I didn’t warn you guys about Miguel before today. I forgot all about him until I spotted his ad on Rentmen yesterday. So for my negligence, I am very sorry. I think I’m very diligent about sharing information with you about my experiences with providers, both good and bad. But if you’ve seen him before….then there’s REALLY no reason to send a deposit.
