Can't think of specific examples of bad camera work in porn videos, but I know I've seen it! What I find distracting is dubbed vocalizations in lots of BelAmi videos. There's very exaggerated moaning and grunting that doesn't even sound like it's coming from the actors. I visualize a couple of video production guys in a post-filming editing room, grunting and moaning into a microphone, trying (unsuccessfully) to sync their noises to the action.

Thanks! I understand your assessment of Brazil. My couple of trips to Rio de Janeiro were great and I plan to return. Salvador is also on my Brazil bucket-list (but not Sao Paulo). Although I've vacationed in Italy (Florence, Tuscany, Rome, Bologna) it was primarily traditional tourist stuff. Maybe next time I'll investigate venues more gay (whatever that turns out to be). Greece and Buenos Aires have been on my list for quite a while. Maybe time to push them up on the list...

Israel has been discussed before in one of these forums. You can take a look and see for yourself what's been said. Brazil well I should have been more specific and say Sao Paulo. I'm a big city person but Sao Paulo was a HUGE disappointment in every sense.

And while Italy, Greece and Argentina are known to be travel destinations, most gay people wouldn't think of them as a gay travel destination. Since the perception of other countries have outranked these three of my favorite destinations, other places like Amsterdam, Tel Aviv and Sao Paulo are far overrated. My opinions also have to do with a variety of things: What's to do and see there, local cuisine, how welcoming they are to Americans and other foreigners and how open and friendly the gay community is to other LGBT foreigners, if it's a place I'd like to return to and see more...

I hope this has helped explain my choices.

I too am eager to return to Montreal but fear I'll be too old by the time Americans are allowed to return and the clubs are safe again. Is there an age when one becomes too old for the Campus and Stock Bar? ❓ ?‍♂️ Mentally and physically I'm primed to go but I do have lots of gray hair.

I agree that the tone of the DRC policies and procedures is somewhat off-putting, but I can understand the policy about letting the dog outside unattended. It's likely that a high energy dog will bark. It will bark at squirrels or neighbors or for any number of reasons. I once had neighbor who let their dog hang out, unattended in their back yard and it drove me berserk with its barking. I've also had friends that had a similar experience with a barking dog next door. Maybe the people at DRC have good reasons for this policy (??). ?‍♂️

I read through the entire brochure, and it seemed to me that they have thought of everything and are trying to find the optimum situation FOR THE DOG! That's fine with me, if they can do it. Most rescue operations can't operate with that much control, because they are not handling a specific breed that is fashionable, as Labradoodles are these days, and they need to find homes for their dogs. However, the supply of Labradoodles is probably smaller than the demand, which often comes from people who haven't given much thought to a lot of the issues that the writer mentions. If one goes to a rescue organization because one actually wants to rescue a dog rather than because one wants to save money, then as @shadowcatzxxx mentions above, the breed is less important than finding the right individual dog which fits your situation. If one will be satisfied with only a specific breed, then it is best to go to a reputable breeder (who may ask the same kinds of questions than the Doodle rescue organization does before they will sell a dog).

Seems to me that a lot of commonly used words and phrases listed in this thread are truly useful. They accurately express the user's meaning and are immediately understood by the intended audience. That's a good thing, in my opinion. Example: Someone listed "going viral". This concise phrase is shorthand for a social media phenomenon for which we'd otherwise have to give a lengthy explanation. E.g., We could either say, "Bobbie's latest tweet is rapidly spreading throughout the twitter platform and the larger social media environment by being frequently shared or reposted by an extremely large number of individuals." Or we could say, "Bobbies' tweet is going viral." Please don't make me feel bad about using common, easily understood words and phrases.

I wish I had an interesting answer for this, but I don't. I sort of remember sitting at my computer signing up for the site (probably the HooBoy site). I needed to come up with something unique and easy to remember so I tacked two, easy to remember words together. Who knows? Maybe it was a Sunday and my zipper was open?!??

I don't recall any bullies in my high school although I was occasionally bullied by a mean, asshole kid in grade school. I didn't realize until years later that the belt marks on his back had something to do with his being a bully. This thread inspired to google him and I found his facebook page. It looks like he's now a grandfather with a wife that wears too much make-up and some cute grandchildren. They're sitting on the front porch of a house that used to be on my paper route. I wonder if he had some psychotherapy along the way.

Very good point. I don't mind the phrase "going viral" because it explains an entirely new phenomenon for which no other phrase ever existed.

My concern is with those who co-opt a word or phrase only because it sounds more 'technical', fancy, detailed, or special than a previously used word or phrase for the same function. 'Curate' is a currently hot word for this. Formerly used, of course, only for art collections and similar, bars, paint stores, department stores, grocery stores, etc. now have "specially curated selections of the finest.....". It's a pretentious word that marketing types have discovered.

    Just sayin'!
