I'm sorry this happened to you.  Unfortunately, in this hobby there are creeps, scammers and cons on both sides of the exchange, comes with the territory I guess.
The topic of prepayment or deposits to providers has been extensively chewed over on this forum.  You're new here (welcome!).  I suggest searching and reading some of the many many threads on the topic.  The takeaway, I think, is that in the M4M world of hiring, many prospective clients consider a request for prepayment a major red flag and won't do it.  Requiring payment upfront may significantly impact your business.

That Cream Men’s Spa is VERY expensive relative to all the other options in Tokyo. Kinda sus. $260 USD is like 39000 yen. Price in USD so obviously catering to foreigners, but I can’t see how that’s worth it. Maybe if you really want your hand held through the booking process but as discussed most of the other options that accept foreigners will have an English speaking manager/coordinator to work with.

Actually, he's not paying 'for a guy'.  He's paying for a service - a massage. 
It's like saying 'you're paying for a guy' if you hire a chauffer. You're not paying for the guy - you're paying for the service (to be chauffeured).

Agreed. I really do not think it’s about getting a bigger tip.  Maybe the guy is just aroused . Or yes maybe he is acting out of habit and it’s his usual process. If you like the guy and feel comfortable, then go with the flow. Don’t overthink it!   If you truly have  strong boundaries for some reason ( like loyalty to a partner) then yes just be clear up front as you have been and hope he respects that.  He should!  

This may just be a difference in massage culture but UK masseurs mostly put ask on their profile so its never bothered me really. 
They tend to have different price points for each massage type and give you the detail of what each massage entails so I guess it makes more sense to put ask as it does depend on what type you choose. 
There's very little up selling during a massage here.

Kudos to you for living your life the way you chose and for not letting others stopping you from embracing  it proudly. In the end it’s all about our capacity to freely CHOOSE our sexuality and how to go on with our lives. Of course, our choices are indeed conditioned by the complex, sometimes unfathomable dynamics between nature and nurture, as you wrote earlier. 

Finally met Patrick.  GREAT experience from start to finish.   Actually genuinely good massage and last 30 mins if 90 was particularly nice and not rushed.  I can't recommend him enough.

Just guard yourself from having any feelings towards said masseur (been there, done that - never again). I have a few of the masseurs in my social media - I asked and told them directy I’ll add them and they said yes.  Most are just that - an acquaintance on social media. 

I see no harm in a short, casual email or text about it. They're human too and live lives beyond just their role as a massage therapist. I would say relay it as briefly as possible unless they engage back and appear to want to continue the conversation.

Since the rate paid is reported by the client, what the client considers to be the rate paid may or may not include a tip.   I haven't posted any reviews, but if I did, I probably would not inlude the tip because it is discretionary.
