So I've had a few escorts text or email me through RM to thank me for getting together. REALLY puts them high up in my book. I know they are busy, but such a nice touch. Also, I've written review on RM for a couple of guys (positive ones) and never got a thanks or acknowledgement of it. I'll admit that kind of lowers the experience in my mind. I know it's a business transaction but how long does it take to send a quick short note thanking the client for posting a positive review? I saw a guy yesterday who was incredible. Everything about the appt top notch. Mentioned I wanted to write a review, he requested only RM, NOT Daddy's for some reason. I did, and it got published within a hour. I've yet to hear anything from him which sort of bothers me. Anyone else feel this way? Escorts, what is your take on this?

Thanks

Jonny

In Indian culture people get offended when someone superfluosly thanks them. People consider it overly-formal and unnecessary. It took some serious re-training to teach myself to stop saying thank you for every little thing. I’m pretty sure “Thank You” is one of the first phrases I was taught to say, and I’ve been speaking in complete sentences since I was just one year old. People who I feel I have amazing connections with in India constantly get the wrong impression that I’m keeping them at arms length because I thank them for doing me basic favours. And I can hardly stop myself- it’s like a reflex!!

I’m confused, OP, did you write the review because you wanted to write one, or because you wanted him to give you additional attention for it after the fact? You seem very QUICK to be bothered by his lack of attention for your review considering you only met him YESTERDAY...

If you wrote the review for your own gratification, I don’t understand why you would expect him to thank you for it. He didn’t ask for the review. He may not even have wanted one. He allowed you to write one because you wanted to write one. Why do you feel that he owes you a thank you, and by the very next day in fact?? He might be busy?? Does it occur to you that we might have other things to do in life besides monitor our RM profiles and message people on our work phones??

I do really appreciate it when clients write me reviews. I don’t always message them to say thank you. But I often do. Sometimes I am very busy and simply don’t have the time. But in those cases I definitely didn’t ask the client to write the review. If I specifically request for a client to review me, of course I am going to thank him. He did me a favor. If a client reviews me for his own pleasure tho, because he likes reviewing, I don’t really need to go out of my way to thank him for that. He did it for him. I will anyway sometimes, but I don’t always have the time.

I question someone’s motives who acts like they are doing me a favor by writing a review I never asked for but feels entitled to receive a thank you note for something that he really did for himself. Just rubs me the wrong way. And I guess if he was offended that I didn’t take the time to thank him, I don’t consider it much of a loss. That type of entitlement tends to show up in other ways down the line, and maybe he’s not the best client for me in that case anyhow.

I personally enjoy reviews, but a lot of escorts merely tolerate them. I think that’s important to keep in mind. Reviews are for the clients’ benefit primarily. Both gratification for the writer to see his experience in writing, and prospective clients who get to read experiences of others before booking. A lot of escorts could care less whether you review them or not.

If I post a positive review I do not expect the escort to thank me. If I'm writing a good review I'll imagine him being pleased when he reads it and that's good enough for me.

I agree. It's never occurred to me to sit around and wait for an escort to thank me and I've never received a thanks. I assume escorts are living their lives and are far too busy looking at texts, etc. from potential clients. I've always been confident, however, that when we meet again my escort will remember my kind words and our experience will be more enjoyable as a result.

I always try to send a short "thank you" message. Most of the time I get a response, but sometimes I don't.

I may be wrong, but perhaps people do not send "thank you" messages because they think that the client is discrete and does not want to communicate any more than is necessary...just a thought.

The review is supposed to be for other clients to know better who to choose. Not for the escort to get more clients.

So, the escort should not be asking for a review (he did not in this case, so that is fine), and the client should not be expecting thanks from the escort. He should be expecting thankfulness from other clients. And we are thankful, @jonnychgo .

I agree that a client should not expect thanks from an escort, for the reasons you cite. But if a client writes a good review, even though the purpose may be to advise other clients, it is still good for the escort. If someone did something that helped my business, I'd be inclined to do something to encourage them, be that thanks or something else. Saying thank you would be inexpensive. (Cynical, I know.)

Definitely- it’s common business sense.

I’m amazed at how few “thanks, it was nice to meet you” texts I get after a meeting (even after an nice tip). I usually send a “thank you” text and sometimes even those go unacknowledged.

It’s not a deal-breaker on a recommendation to others or a second hire but it is a data point I consider.

They got notified about a new review on RM, the Mgt. doesn't email escorts about new reviews on here.

I thought daddy always sent a copy of a review to the escort before posting to provide an opportunity for a response. Or does he now do that only for negative reviews? I wrote "now" because around 2006 I wrote a glowing review whose subject emailed his thanks to me before the review ever got posted -- he confirmed that he had been sent a copy ahead of time.

When I've had a great time with an escort, it is something of a letdown not to receive any post-meeting communication, however short -- which is rarely the case with older, more experienced escorts.

Here's something that bothers me more (and comes close to being a deal-breaker for a repeat): I had a wonderful session out of town; afterwards we discussed his plans to travel to my city in the fall. I followed up with a 2-line text about getting in touch before he visited. No response! (And this from someone who had been an excellent communicator before we met.)

I think only if the review is negative, not if it's positive like most reviews usually are.

Maybe things were different in 2006.

Welcome to the age of incivility and self-absorption! That’s why a thank you text or note is so striking these days.

Specially if they have their phone in their faces all the time, and they can just text "thanks for the review :)! "

We have a memory that is highly selective, we don’t remember bad experiences, because it doesn’t feel nice to remember them, but we remember better good experiences, because they feel good.

So we often think that “things are getting worse”, “things were better in my youth”, but in fact the world is improving, and interpersonal relations are more and more caring, less and less violent, etc.

Charity giving has never been higher for example, it grows much faster than inflation, on average per person. Crime rates have been steadily dropping for 40 years. Bar fights are less and less of an issue for the police to deal with. In every forum on the internet, rules of communications ban interpersonal insults and everyone thinks it is a good thing.

Would any street hustler really have sent you a thank you note if you recommended him to another John, 40 years ago? I don’t think so. The fact that many escorts do today is a sign that things are in fact getting better, not worse.

We should try not to sound too much like old men, even if that is what we are.

Then why do many escorts I see ask me to write them reviews? It generates interest and business for them. I write them to generate interest among other prospective hires but I guess I was always taught a thank you was common courtesy. I know millennials have been brought up to think they are a present to today's world and think differently.

Because, it is in their interest, but that doesn’t mean that the review should be for them.

If I have a HomePod and I like it, and say so here, do you think it is for the benefit of Apple?

No, if I said it for the benefit of Apple, I am a sell-out. If I said it for the benefits of other buyers in doubt, I am helping my fellow consumer.

I am confused about what confuses you here.

We have some Debbie Downers on here...

Exactly, technology, life expectancy for most of mankind not for Americans because of our own problems with the way we eat, etc.

Try to explain that to a Trump supporter. Now they believe in statistics of crime, but till November of 2016 it was all fake news.

I always send a text to an escort right after having a good experience with him, telling him I enjoyed our time together, and thanking him. Most often they text right back and say something like "I enjoyed it too! I hope we can meet again sometime."

I usually will write a positive RM review and a daddy's review, if I found the experience noteworthy. Next time I see that escort, it's like we're old friends! Works for me.
