I'm wondering if unless I'm private messaged for details it's not such a good idea to post a negative review. I had a terrible experience with a masseur and scored him less than favorable, with the exception of punctuality and cleanliness. He sent me a text that he didn't appreciate my public evaluation, and then deleted it. Based on his actions, I don't feel a need to give him a 2nd chance to see if he improves.

Question: if it was "terrible" (to use your word for the experience), why would you want to see him again? and in his defense, why would he want to see someone that potentially hurt his business by giving him a bad a review. It seems both of you would want to cut your losses and move on. No?

That is true, but the ability of masseurs to have clients' reviews deleted versus keeping them posted and allowing the masseur to respond is the main reason why reviews on massage websites are worthless.

That is painting with a very broad brush. I do agree that masseurs can delete bad reviews. But I post positive reviews of masseurs I enjoy all the time on the different massage sites. I also have read members of this forum state that they have posted positive reviews of masseurs on the different massage sites. So not all reviews on massage sites are "worthless". Many of the positive reviews are accurate. I know....I have posted many, as others in this forum have.

I think one should read reviews critically. I once had multiple dealings with an escort on RM. Later I saw a negative review that was totally inconsistent with my dealings. When I contacted the escort I was told the negative review was written by a client who had become abusive during a session and damaged the escorts apartment. Like anything on the internet one should read everything with a critical eye.

My point is that when all the reviews are positive because the masseur can have negative reviews removed, it's difficult to discern whether the positive reviews are all genuine and reflect the other portion of his client based that was satisfied or whether they were posted by the masseur and people who know him in an effort to get others to spend money on a sub-par experience. I do, in fact, read the reviews but unless I can verify in some manner that they are accurate (such as with Karl Kang, where he not only had positive reviews on his ad but people here were also giving him good marks) I am reluctant to fork over $120 or more for what might be a highly unsatisfactory massage with no "extras."

For my two cents on reading reviews on massage sites. If they have a history of reviews that spans a period of time then I think the reviews are more accurate and more reflective of the masseuse and their quality. That is not always true but it tends to be. It is very difficult these days to actually understand if a masseuse does sensual/erotic massages. You can sometimes get the vibe by the pictures or the generalization of the masseuses description of their massage. This forum is by far the best way to find out about a masseuse and what they do during the massage. It is so important I believe that we all give information about any masseuse we see on the main gay massage sites. I have many times been attracted to a masseuse on their ad and want a massage but have read here on the forum about them and made a decision not to go to them. On the other side of the coin I have found some great masseuses on the recommendations given here. This is by far the best place to find out about a good masseuse… Or a bad one.

Information is never worthless. Positive reviews maybe questionable but also negative reviews are. Just use multiple sources to make an informed decision.

ALways remember that a bad experience with you does not mean he is a bad professional. Some people are just not made to function together on one hand, on the other we all have bad days.

I like reviews like amazon. if a masseur has positive and negative, percentage easily shows trend and helps in decision making and they seem to be honest. Only positive reviews make it seem like sales pitch.

I had a bad experience posting honest negative review ( I used to post positive reviews too). I was stupid enough to post that review when appointment happened in my hotel room. Masseur actually called me and threatened that he knows where I am and he can pay visit to me. Next thing I know review was gone. Learned my lesson and stopped posting reviews.

I know this is the pot calling the kettle black, but we are referring to masseurs not to a masseuse. :-)

I'm a little concerned about what the rules are here and on other sites for leaving reviews. I've been told never to review here because there's a high risk of being banned.

I put zero trust in the reviews on RM. Frauds. Some of us have learned tricks though. For example, if someone is awful give them a "positive" review with zero stars. Say the photos are good, say you'd see them again, etc. but then....zero stars. For some reason guys have a harder time removing those. Negative reviews disappear quick. When I see positive reviews with zero stars I know other clients are warning me to avoid.

I have given one negative review of an escort that totally deserved it. I have no regrets and I bad mouthed him to those people I trust as clients and even to other escorts..On both parts escort/client their opinion of this guy was the same as mine. I've had marginal experiences with escorts/masseurs and didn't post any reviews. I am one who believes in reviews and yes not all clients/escorts create magic but if effort and desire to please a client by an escort is provided I believe it should be rewarded with positive feedback.

… Well my kettle is actually white but you are correct that I made a mistake and I should’ve used masseur. Thank you for the correction.

Agreed! This unfortunately holds true even for this site, for I've posted honest experiences, without license or infringing on website rules, only for the masseur to be tipped off by another client and confronted which is especially concerning for the masseur knows where I live, so taking the high road, I deleted the post.

You have been misinformed my friend. We do not post reviews, that is correct. We submit reviews, check the reviews website.

Some seem to assume that if the masseur/escort tells a good excuse why the reviewer was really the "bad actor," they are totally willing to go with that and disregard the bad review. I am not one of them. I do not post negative stuff unless I have a really bad experience or the person is VERY different than how they represent themselves. I rely on reviews and I want to help others, similarly, make the best decisions for their hiring escapades. To me, and for my money, the trust always go with the reviewer. I would much rather miss out on what might have been a good, fun time than meet with someone who makes me fear for my life, totally wastes my money, etc. My 2 cents

That’s why I am so thankful for this forums. I have say no attention to the reviews posted.

Amen! This forum has saved time, money and stopped many embarrassing moments from happening for sure. - xx

Why would it haunt you? If it truly was a negative experience, you have every right to post your thoughts about it if it is accurate. If the masseur wants to counter with his own side, let him do so, and then let the public decide based on hearing both sides. Sorry but you're being way too diplomatic to a fault.

It is more complicated than that. Some professionals can be vengeful. If the client has not protected his privacy and personal information, a negative review can become a pain in your ass.

Even positive reviews can haunt you. Once I wrote a very complimenting review and described the guy as a power bottom. I received threats of physical violence if I did not edit or put the review down.

I posted a negative review about being stood up by a no show masseur. He called me, threatened to out me, had clearly researched my phone number and found who I was as well as finding friends and family on social media. Learned my lesson. Never post a review. Danger lurks if you are not fully out.

Well I guess it's time to get a burner phone number for all future interactions with masseurs.

There is a lot of truth to this statement. People are flaky. Escorts, masseurs, and clients alike. Crap happens in peoples’ lives and it contributes to them doing whacky things. This may be in a small percentage of situations, but (1) it isn’t predictable and (2) the risk associated with a negative action may bean outcome that is unacceptable to some people depending on their “situation” (employment type, public visibility, relationship status, etc.).

Point taken. Well I guess it's time to get a burner phone number for all future interactions with masseurs. Fake name, cash only, burner number, no personal information, and most definitely never do a session at your house.

Dont get a burner phone. Just use Google Voice it will allow you to set up a separate number it will transfer to your own cell phone.
