I use my real first name. I don't disclose anything else.

I've never asked for their real names (first or last) and never been told. For me, asking for their real first name is too intrusive. Personal autonomy is important to me. They need to share it without prodding for me to feel comfortable that they'll be comfortable with it. Also it's less information for me to remember.

Thankfully their stage names included actual names rather than descriptions.

I learned the full real names of a couple of escorts I was/am friends with - one because he was shipping something through UPS, the other through the name on his doorbell. I don't remember their names, though.

Do any escorts here reveal their real name to the client after the session? Consider this, you meet a client who you run the chance of seeing out in public. Wouldn't it be awkward if you're with friends and he said hey .... (insert escort name here) .... rather than your real name. I know it's a case by case basic but I was just wondering your thoughts? What if you discover the client may know other friends of yours?

I always give my real first name as soon as I feel like it is going to be a good match. It’s about relationship building, and, for me. using my real name is one way to do that.

Interesting. I had expected (I won't say assumed) that it would take a little longer than that. And I don't mean for you in particular, just as a general case.

Nah... as soon as I feel like it is leading to an appointment, I tell him my name and ask what he wants me to call him, if he hasn’t already told me.

I have the same experience as @Rudynate. Two escorts I have used had their names appear as possible "friends on Facebook. I contacted each to tell them the situation. One escort who had used his legal first name but refused to tell me his family name seemed shocked and requested I not disclose it. The second escort who had not disclosed either name did not seem to mind and asked me to submit a friend request. I remain close to both these guys and refer potential clients wherever possible. I do not disclose their legal names to anyone else. I believe clients have a confidentiality obligation just as we expect the same from our escort pals.

Interesting perspective. It does however, raise the interesting point that a client's friend link with an escort says nothing more than that the two of them know each other. It doesn't say how or why they know each other.

Twist on this question:

Clients, if without trying, you learned your rentguy's real name, would you tell him?

I repeatedly hired a guy, eventually overnights & longer. He was great, but occassionally indicated he didnt care to share his true identity. Thats ok by me - I understand.

Except, over the course of our appointments, he unknowingly did things revealing his name. E.g.

  • He wanted to show me something on his laptop... sat next to me, log in screen had first name "Bob's Laptop"
  • Subsequent visit, we watched porn together on laptop..... the wallpaper was a picture of him, name of the stripper troupe, troupe's homebase/locale, his strip-stage name
  • Walking back to hotel one night, he took a personal call but motioned I need not step away. Related story to caller of a contractor apologizing for work performed, relating contractor said "how do we make this right, Mr. Smith?"

So I now knew real first, last name, other job, etc. It occurred to me to tell him, particularly when he behaved a little skittish about his identity. Also as some means to convey "look, I know you're Bob Smith, your stage name is XXXXXXX, known for awhile, I'll never use or share the info, you can trust me."

I never mentioned it, never told others....

People are amazing leaky, it's diabolical. That's why the most effective interrogation techniques are not openly adversarial and involve a lot of listening.

To answer your question, I would try to avoid it, if possible.

Now my twist on the original question. As a client, I actively don't want to know this information. I am a data hoarder, and if I learn this, I will want to know what data it will lead me too. One time this happened, I didn't like what I found and even though it wasn't that terrible, it did make me glad I attempt to be somewhat discreet with my personally identifying info.

I've asked dancers at Adonis Lounge what their name is(not having met them before) and most will tell me "X, but Tim lists me as Y in the emails." At which point I wonder why they bother to have the stage name at all.

Then again, I was at one point a fairly regular presence there and they may have picked up on the fact that the staff "knows" me and thus are fairly confident I'm not a serial killer/stalker/cop.

People still use PayPal? o_O

Kevin Slater

Yes, why would you not have every method of payment available to your clients? I accept cash, PayPal, cashapp, venmo, as well as have a credit card processor.

People still use western union?

LOL

Hugs,

Greg

No paper trail! When I was a dancer I had a married client who used to send me money via western union for my bills. PayPal and all that shows up on your bank statements.

How are you guys certain that the escorts are not infact just giving you a second alias...? ;)

Of course that has occurred to me. If that's what happened, so be it. In my mind, encounters with escorts are not organic, but staged, at least a little bit. So being presented with yet another alias in the guise of it being the escort's real name is just part of the staging.

more real name "horror stories" to add to my post (#33) upthread.....

one guy I'd already met several times accidentally emailed me back once using his work (full real name) email.....I replied to it and he wrote back, "don't EVER use this email address again!"....later, he explained that he had to reply like that because his work might see the email exchange and he had to make it look like some crazy person was bothering/spamming him......

another guy, a budding actor, when I asked for face pictures, gave me his website address with actor-style head shots and his real name......thinking I'd, therefore, already gained his trust, I called to set up an appointment and greeted him with his real first name.....he said, "ohhhhh, you know my name??!!"....I said, "yeah, you gave me your website".....he said, "oh"......subsequent meets were great!

Being a physician, I am observant of many things I ought not to be.

An escort said he was on a medication I'd not heard of. He tossed me the bottle ... with his name on it.

I went over to an escort's house for my first visit ... and saw his name plastered on some awards on the walls. Sigh.

Needless to say, MUM was the word.
